The film clearly establishes the core variants, while credits identify several cameo versions and leave other background costumes uncertain.
Spoilers for the entire film follow.
Key takeaways
- Wade Wilson is the film’s primary Deadpool; the movie does not officially identify his home reality as Earth-616.
- Nicepool, Dogpool, Lady Deadpool, Kidpool, Babypool, and Headpool are the clearest named or recognizable members of the Deadpool Corps.
- Cowboypool, Welshpool, Canadapool, Haroldpool, Zenpool, and Roninpool/Watari are credited or visually identified background variants with little or no individual dialogue.
- Dogpool, Lady Deadpool, Kidpool, Headpool, and the western Cowboypool concept have clear comic counterparts, while Nicepool and several cameo variants are primarily film creations.
- The film never provides a definitive frame-by-frame roster for every anonymous Deadpool in Cassandra Nova’s army, so costume-based fan labels should be treated as probable rather than confirmed.
What is the difference between Wade Wilson and the Deadpool Corps?
Wade Wilson is the protagonist’s Deadpool, while the Deadpool Corps is the army of alternate Deadpools encountered in the Void. The film establishes the distinction through the Time Variance Authority: Wade’s world is destabilizing after the death of its anchor being, Wolverine, and Wade recruits a Wolverine variant before confronting Cassandra Nova and her forces.

Wade is sometimes called Deadpool Prime in fan discussions, but that is not the film’s principal on-screen name. The official screenplay identifies him as Wade or Deadpool, and the official film page for Deadpool & Wolverine does not establish an Earth-616 designation for his movie reality.
That distinction matters because Marvel’s comic-book main continuity uses Earth-616 for its primary Wade Wilson, whereas the film begins in the Fox-era Deadpool continuity and connects that reality to the wider MCU multiverse. Calling the movie’s Wade Earth-616 without qualification incorrectly treats two different continuities as the same universe.

Who is Nicepool in Deadpool & Wolverine?
Nicepool is an unmasked Deadpool variant who behaves as an aggressively pleasant, shallow self-help enthusiast rather than as Wade’s profane and combative alter ego. The official Deadpool & Wolverine screenplay names him, describes his immaculate and unusually muscular appearance, and establishes that he owns Dogpool.
Nicepool introduces himself as Deadpool but explains that people in the Void call him Nicepool or Wendy. He carries gold-plated Desert Eagle pistols and speaks in relentlessly agreeable language. His appearance is part of the joke: he looks like an idealized, polished version of Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool while having almost none of Wade’s abrasive personality.
Nicepool is mainly a film invention rather than a direct adaptation of a prominent comic identity. His role is to make the multiverse joke personal: the same basic Deadpool design can produce a version who is handsome, friendly, oblivious, and irritatingly positive. Cassandra Nova’s forces kill Nicepool, after which Wade takes his weapons and other resources for the assault on Cassandra’s stronghold.
Who is Dogpool, and why is Dogpool important?
Dogpool is a regenerative dog wearing a Deadpool suit, and Dogpool becomes one of Wade’s most important allies in the Void. Nicepool calls the dog Mary Puppins, while the character is otherwise known as Dogpool. The film presents Dogpool less as a talking parody and more as an affectionate, indestructible canine counterpart to Wade.
Marvel’s official production account identifies the dog performer as Peggy, a mixed-breed dog whose unusual appearance helped make her a memorable part of the film’s publicity. Marvel also describes Dogpool’s Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in its official feature on how Dogpool reached Deadpool & Wolverine.
The screenplay introduces Dogpool before Nicepool and shows Wade immediately bonding with her. Dogpool survives the Void encounters, travels with Wade and Wolverine, and remains present as the group moves toward the final confrontation. Dogpool therefore has more emotional importance than many of the costumed figures who appear only during the Corps’ attack.
Dogpool also has one of the clearest comic histories among the film’s variants. Marvel identifies the comics character as Dogpool of Earth-103173, a member of the Deadpool multiverse who was created through experimentation, possesses extreme regenerative or immortal qualities, and was eventually recruited by Deadpool. The movie simplifies that origin and uses Dogpool primarily as a lovable mascot and a visual extension of the regeneration joke.
For viewers who want a physical reminder of the film’s breakout canine, a Dogpool figure is the most direct collectible match. Product editions, sellers, prices, and availability can change, so those details should be checked at the time of purchase.
Who is Lady Deadpool, and is she played by Blake Lively?
Lady Deadpool is the masked female Deadpool variant who joins the Corps in the final battle. The film deliberately hides her face, making the character’s identity and casting part of the joke. TIME’s reporting on Lady Deadpool identifies Blake Lively as the character’s voice performer and Christiaan Bettridge as the stunt performer who physically plays the masked figure.
The screenplay foreshadows her appearance when Nicepool says that Ladypool is gorgeous and has recently had a baby. The line works as a meta-joke about Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds’ family while also echoing the character’s comic identity.

But when his homeworld is threatened, he reluctantly suits up as he tries to convince Wolverine? oh hell, just watch. Warning: Some flashing-lights scenes in this film may affect photosensitive viewers.
In Marvel Comics, Lady Deadpool is Wanda Wilson of Earth-3010 and a major Deadpool Corps member. Marvel’s official Lady Deadpool reference provides that background. The movie does not say Lady Deadpool’s name is Wanda Wilson and does not assign her Earth-3010 designation, so those details belong to the comics rather than the film’s confirmed dialogue.
Who is Kidpool?
Kidpool is a child-sized Deadpool variant who appears among the Corps during the Void battle. The film gives Kidpool little dialogue, but promotional and cast information establish the character’s identity; Inez Reynolds provides the voice according to available cast listings.

The distinction is important because the comic-book Deadpool Kid is a western gunslinger, while Kidpool is the juvenile version. The film retains Kidpool’s visual joke of a miniature Deadpool carrying the attitude and weaponry associated with Wade.
Marvel identifies the comic Kidpool as Wade Wilson of Earth-10330, a disruptive child associated with Xavier’s school or an orphanage for troubled mutant boys. Marvel’s Kidpool character reference and its broader variants article supply that comic context. The movie uses the child design without reproducing that full origin.
Who is Babypool?
Babypool is an infant-sized Deadpool visible with the Corps. Babypool is primarily a visual gag: the film pushes the idea of alternate Wades to its most literal extreme by placing a baby in a tiny Deadpool costume.
Olin Reynolds, one of Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively’s children, is credited with the role in available film cast information. Marvel’s 2024 overview of Deadpool variants also lists Babypool around the film’s release, but Babypool does not have the same detailed official comics biography as Lady Deadpool, Headpool, Kidpool, or Dogpool.
The safest interpretation is therefore the simplest one: Babypool is an important film appearance and a family-centered production joke, not a variant whose comic universe or biography has been established by the movie.
Who is Headpool?
Headpool is a floating, zombified Deadpool head who appears with the Corps. Headpool demonstrates that the film’s multiverse joke is not limited to alternate human bodies: a Deadpool variant can be a severed, autonomous head and still function as a member of the team.
Nathan Fillion voices Headpool according to available cast information. The character’s comic origin is more developed. Marvel identifies Headpool as the zombie Deadpool of Earth-2149, a reality associated with Marvel Zombies; after his body is destroyed, his surviving head remains autonomous and joins the Deadpool Corps. The official Headpool character reference explains that comic background.
Rank #3
- Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman reprise their roles as Deadpool and Wolverine in this superhero action adventure sequel directed by Shawn Levy.
The film preserves Headpool’s floating-head design but does not stop to explain the zombie universe or state Earth-2149 in dialogue. Headpool is therefore a clear visual and conceptual comic adaptation, even though the movie leaves most of his backstory implicit.

Which Deadpool variants appear as credited or background cameos?
The following variants are best treated as credited or visually identified Corps members rather than fully developed characters. Their names and performers come largely from available cast and credit compilations, while the film itself gives most of them no individual scene or biography.
Who is Cowboypool?
Cowboypool, listed in some credits as Cowboy Deadpool, is the western-styled gunslinger in the Corps. Matthew McConaughey provides the voice according to available cast information. The frontier costume and guns make the character’s identity immediately legible even though Cowboypool has very limited screen time.
Cowboypool draws on Marvel’s comic Deadpool Kid, a western Deadpool variant associated with Earth-1108. Marvel’s Deadpool Kid reference describes that comic counterpart. The movie’s Cowboypool label distinguishes the gunslinger from the child-sized Kidpool, so the two should not be merged.
Who is Welshpool?
Welshpool is a Wales-themed Deadpool recognizable by Welsh imagery on his costume. The variant is associated with Wrexham A.F.C., the Welsh football club co-owned by Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, and available cast listings associate the role with Wrexham player Paul Mullin.

The costume turns Reynolds’ public association with Wrexham into a multiversal Deadpool joke, but the movie gives Welshpool no developed personality or independent story.
Who is Canadapool?
Canadapool is a Canada-themed background member of the Corps. Available cast and production listings associate the role with Alex Kyshkovych, who is also associated with Reynolds as a stunt double.
The film does not provide a narrative explanation for Canadapool. Canadapool is best described as a credited or production-identified national variation within the army, not as a major speaking character with a confirmed comic origin.
Who is Haroldpool?
Haroldpool is a minor background variant associated with Harry Holland, Tom Holland’s brother. The role is generally listed as uncredited or lightly credited, and the film gives Haroldpool no established personality, dialogue, or comic biography.
Rank #4
- Blu-ray

Haroldpool fits the production’s broader cameo pattern, which includes family members, athletes, stunt performers, and collaborators appearing as members of the Deadpool Corps.
Who is Zenpool?
Zenpool is a gray-hooded or otherwise visually restrained Deadpool variant seen in the Corps. Available cast information associates the role with Kevin Fortin.
Zenpool’s joke is conceptual rather than narrative. A quiet, monk-like or disciplined Deadpool is the opposite of Wade’s profanity, impulsive violence, and constant improvisation. Because Zenpool has no developed scene or explicit backstory, the name should be treated as a visual and cast identification rather than a fully explained film identity.
Who is Roninpool or Watari?
Roninpool, also identified as Watari in available listings, is the samurai- or ronin-styled member of the Corps. Hung Dante Dong is associated with the role in available cast information.
Marvel’s wider Deadpool variant material includes a comics Ronin Deadpool or Watari, but the movie does not explain this particular version in detail. Roninpool is therefore a film appearance with a recognizable comic analogue, not a character whose complete comic history is transferred to the screen.
Are the other Deadpool Corps costumes official variants?
Not necessarily. The final battle contains many additional Deadpool-costumed figures, but Marvel and Disney have not published a definitive frame-by-frame roster that assigns an official name to every anonymous member of the army.
Secondary visual guides and fan communities have used labels such as Scottishpool, Piratepool, Golden Age Deadpool, 2099-style Deadpool, Jesterpool, Kingpool, Cupidpool, Greatest Showman Deadpool, and Shortpool. A secondary visual guide to the Deadpool Corps variants can help viewers compare the costumes, but visual resemblance alone does not prove that a background figure is the exact comic character suggested by the label.
The same caution applies in reverse. Marvel’s official comics pages identify many additional members of the comic Deadpool Corps, including Pandapool, Golden Age Deadpool, Deadpool Pulp, Championpool, Motorpool, Beard of Beespool, Squirrelpool, Grootpool, Knightpool, Hawkeyepool, and Ronin Deadpool. The existence of those comic characters does not prove that every similar costume in the movie is a deliberate live-action adaptation.

The Deadpool Corps functions as Cassandra Nova’s army in the Void, not as an independent heroic team with a shared mission. Wade and Wolverine fight through the Corps during the final act, turning the comics’ multiversal team concept into a large-scale visual punchline.

But when his homeworld is threatened, he reluctantly suits up as he tries to convince Wolverine? oh hell, just watch. Warning: Some flashing-lights scenes in this film may affect photosensitive viewers.
Cassandra’s army is deliberately excessive. The group includes different ages, genders, body types, physical conditions, national associations, historical costumes, and personality concepts. Headpool changes the body itself; Dogpool changes the species; Kidpool and Babypool change the age; Lady Deadpool changes the gender presentation; Nicepool changes the personality; and Cowboypool or Roninpool change the genre and historical styling.
Marvel’s official Deadpool Corps team profile establishes the comics lineage and identifies core members such as Headpool, Lady Deadpool, Kidpool, and Dogpool alongside many more variants. The film borrows that recognizable lineup but expands it with movie-specific jokes such as Nicepool, Babypool, Welshpool, and Canadapool.
Which Deadpool variants are from the comics?
The strongest comic connections belong to variants whose designs or identities existed before the film. The movie also creates new counterparts because the Deadpool concept works especially well as a mixture of adaptation, parody, and celebrity cameo.

| Relationship to the comics | Film variants | What can safely be claimed |
|---|---|---|
| Clearly comic-derived | Dogpool, Lady Deadpool, Kidpool, Headpool | Marvel provides identifiable comic histories and, for several, specific Earth designations. |
| Comic concept adapted into a film version | Cowboypool | The western costume strongly corresponds to the comics’ Deadpool Kid, but the film uses the Cowboypool name. |
| Film-specific or substantially reworked | Nicepool, Babypool, Welshpool, Canadapool, Haroldpool, Zenpool | The movie appearance or production joke is the important canon fact; detailed comic biographies should not be assigned. |
| Film variant with a comic analogue | Roninpool / Watari | Marvel has a broader comics Ronin Deadpool or Watari connection, but the movie does not explain the version in depth. |
Readers who want the source material behind the variants can look for Deadpool Corps comics and related Deadpool variant stories. Marvel’s official character and team references are the safest starting points because they separate named comic identities from the much larger pool of film costume speculation.
Why does the film include so many Deadpool variants?
The variant army gives the film a way to combine multiverse spectacle with self-aware comedy. Rather than treating every alternate Deadpool as a fully separate superhero, the film treats Deadpool as a flexible template: change the age, species, costume, nationality, body, voice, or personality and the joke immediately becomes understandable.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →The approach also lets the film acknowledge the comics without becoming dependent on comic continuity. Headpool, Lady Deadpool, Kidpool, Dogpool, and the western Deadpool Kid concept reward longtime readers, while Nicepool, Welshpool, Haroldpool, and Babypool work as film-specific cameos that require no prior knowledge.
The result is intentionally uneven. Nicepool and Dogpool receive identifiable scenes and relationships; Lady Deadpool, Kidpool, Babypool, and Headpool are recognizable through design and credits; and many other Corps members exist mainly for viewers to spot during the action. That hierarchy is why a responsible guide should explain the confirmed variants first and label the rest as probable or visually identified rather than presenting every internet nickname as official.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Deadpool in Deadpool & Wolverine from Earth-616?
No. Deadpool & Wolverine does not officially designate Wade Wilson’s movie reality as Earth-616. Wade belongs to the film’s Fox-era Deadpool continuity, which the movie connects to the MCU multiverse. Earth-616 is the designation for Marvel Comics’ main continuity and should not be applied to the film without that qualification.
Is Blake Lively Lady Deadpool in Deadpool & Wolverine?
Yes, according to TIME’s film reporting, Blake Lively voices Lady Deadpool while stunt performer Christiaan Bettridge physically performs the masked role. The film keeps Lady Deadpool’s face hidden and does not identify her on screen as Wanda Wilson.
Which Deadpool variants in the film come from the comics?
The clearest comic-derived film variants are Dogpool, Lady Deadpool, Kidpool, Headpool, and the western Deadpool Kid concept represented by Cowboypool. Nicepool, Babypool, Welshpool, Canadapool, Haroldpool, and Zenpool are primarily film creations or production-specific versions.
Are all the background Deadpool Corps members officially named?
No. Marvel and Disney have not published a definitive frame-by-frame roster for every anonymous member of Cassandra Nova’s Deadpool Corps. Names such as Piratepool, Scottishpool, Jesterpool, and 2099-style Deadpool may describe visible costumes, but they should be presented as probable or fan-derived identifications rather than confirmed movie characters.
The Bottom Line
Bottom line: The film’s confirmed or clearly identified lineup runs from Wade Wilson, Nicepool, Dogpool, Lady Deadpool, Kidpool, Babypool, and Headpool to credited cameo variants such as Cowboypool, Welshpool, Canadapool, Haroldpool, Zenpool, and Roninpool/Watari. The remaining Corps costumes are deliberately harder to classify, and many popular labels are only visual interpretations.
