Disney+ Canada’s C$1.99-per-month promotion was real, but it is no longer available. The limited-time offer ran from March 4 through March 30, 2025, giving new and eligible returning subscribers four months of the Standard With Ads plan. As of August 18, 2026, Disney+ Canada is listing its regular plans instead.
The promotion launched alongside the March 4, 2025 premiere of Daredevil: Born Again and arrived shortly before Moana 2 reached Disney+ Canada on March 12. It was a subscription discount—not a separate rental or purchase offer for either film or series.

What “With Ads” meant
The discounted subscription provided access to the Standard With Ads catalogue, but it was not feature-equivalent to Disney+’s ad-free tiers. The plan supported streaming at up to 1080p and included advertising averaging four minutes or less per hour, according to the contemporary report.
Downloads were not supported on the ad-supported plan. That made it a better fit for viewers watching at home, and a poorer choice for people who regularly download programmes for flights, commuting or travel. Viewers who strongly preferred uninterrupted playback would also have needed an ad-free tier.

Who qualified?
The offer was advertised for new subscribers and “eligible returning customers.” That wording did not mean every former subscriber automatically qualified. The available reporting does not specify how long an account had to be inactive, whether all cancelled accounts were included, or whether eligibility depended on an account, payment method or other condition.
It also does not establish that existing subscribers could cancel and immediately resubscribe at C$1.99. Nor does it confirm that the promotion applied to subscriptions billed through Apple, Google, Roku, telecom companies or cable providers. The original offer directed customers to the Disney+ website, so third-party subscribers would have needed to check their own billing arrangements.

What happened after four months?
The promotion lasted four months, but the available report does not provide the complete post-promotion billing language. It therefore cannot establish the exact renewal price or the precise cancellation terms for every subscriber.
Anyone enrolling in a similar future promotion should check the checkout screen and offer terms for the price after the discounted period. Account billing settings are also the place to verify the next charge and manage a subscription. Taxes may be added to the advertised base price.

Why the timing mattered
The offer began on the day Daredevil: Born Again premiered with two episodes on Disney+. Moana 2 followed on March 12, giving Marvel viewers and families separate reasons to subscribe during the discounted window.
The deal also provided access to Disney+’s wider Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars and family catalogue. Those programmes were included as part of the subscription; the promotion did not make individual titles free in any separate sense.

What Disney+ Canada lists now
The current Disney+ Canada signup page surfaced the following monthly prices when checked in August 2026:
- Standard With Ads: C$8.99 per month
- Standard: C$15.99 per month
- Premium: C$16.99 per month
These are a time-sensitive snapshot, not a guarantee of permanent pricing. Disney+ also indicates that annual billing can save money compared with paying monthly for a full year on Standard or Premium. The official page may also display bundles involving Crave and TSN, but those services operate independently and have their own terms.
Bottom line
The C$1.99 Disney+ Canada promotion was a strong short-term offer for eligible viewers who wanted Daredevil: Born Again, Moana 2 and other Disney+ programming while accepting advertisements and no downloads. It ended on March 30, 2025. Readers arriving now should use the official Disney+ Canada page to compare the current monthly and annual options rather than expecting the expired promotional price.
