The fastest way to see your recent Spotify favorites is in the mobile app: open Spotify, tap your profile picture, and choose Listening stats. For other time periods, use Wrapped for a year, Spotify 20 when its limited-time all-time experience is available, or download your Spotify data for custom analysis.
Choose the Spotify feature for the time period you want

See your recently played top songs
- Open the Spotify mobile app on your iPhone or Android phone.
- Tap your profile picture.
- Select Listening stats.
- Review your top songs, top artists, listening insights, and any personalized playlists Spotify provides.
- Use Share if you want to save or post a result.
Spotify describes Listening stats as a view of your top artists and songs from approximately the past four weeks. It is therefore a recent-listening dashboard, not a permanent lifetime ranking. Spotify announced the feature for Free and Premium users in more than 60 markets, but availability can vary by country, account, app version, and rollout status. See your top songs of the year with Wrapped
For an annual ranking, use Spotify Wrapped:
- Update Spotify from your device’s app store.
- Open Spotify and look for the Wrapped feed on Home, or search for the relevant year—for example, 2025 Wrapped.
- Open the personalized Wrapped experience.
- Find the Top Songs story and the accompanying Your Top Songs playlist.
- Save the playlist if you want to keep listening after the interactive story is no longer prominent.
Spotify’s 2025 Wrapped launched on December 3, 2025. Its Your Top Songs playlist contained the user’s top 100 tracks and showed play counts for each song. The playlist is often more useful than the animated story if you simply want to play, save, or share your ranking. However, Spotify does not guarantee that the complete Wrapped experience will remain available indefinitely. Check Spotify’s 2025 Wrapped overview and Wrapped support page for current availability.
See your all-time top songs
Spotify’s 2026 anniversary experience, Spotify 20: Your Party of the Year(s), introduced an all-time retrospective. If the campaign is still available in your market:

- Open the Spotify mobile app.
- Search for Spotify 20 or Party of the Year(s).
- Alternatively, try Spotify’s mobile /20 experience.
- Complete the retrospective and open the All-Time Top Songs Playlist.
Spotify says the playlist can contain up to 120 tracks and includes play counts. The experience also includes information such as your first day on Spotify, first streamed song, number of unique songs listened to, and all-time most-streamed artist.
Spotify 20 is not a permanent navigation item. Spotify describes it as a mobile-only, limited-time experience available across 144 markets and 16 languages. If it no longer appears, that may mean the campaign has ended or is unavailable for your account—not that your listening history has been deleted. Read Spotify’s Spotify 20 announcement.
What statistics can Spotify show?
The available statistics depend on the feature and time period. They may include:
- Top songs and artists
- Top albums and genres
- Total listening minutes
- Song play counts
- Number of unique songs
- Listening insights and recent trends
- Your first streamed song or first day on Spotify
- Your all-time most-streamed artist
- Personalized playlists based on recent or annual listening
These figures should not be treated as one universal Spotify ranking. Listening stats, Wrapped, Spotify 20, and downloadable account data serve different purposes and may use different time windows or formulas.

How Spotify calculates top songs
Spotify’s published methodology for Wrapped says that a song counts as a listen after it has played for more than 30 seconds. Wrapped Top Songs are ranked by total listens, and each stream counts as one listen regardless of the song’s length. That means the song with the most minutes is not necessarily the song with the most plays.
Artist rankings use a weighted stream count, giving primary artists more weight than featured artists. Album rankings use another method based on listening to the majority of an album’s tracks. These are Spotify’s published Wrapped rules; Spotify has not established one publicly documented formula that automatically applies to every Listening stats or anniversary feature. Wrapped also does not necessarily represent January 1 through December 31. Spotify said its 2025 Wrapped data period ran from January through mid-November before the December 3 launch. Spotify may also treat taste-based stories differently from total listening: listening in Private Mode or with Exclude from Taste Profile can count toward total time while not shaping taste-based Wrapped stories. Can you choose a custom date range?
Spotify’s built-in features are convenient but do not guarantee arbitrary start and end dates for every user. Use the method that matches your needs:

- Built-in Spotify views: easiest for recent and annual summaries, with limited control over dates.
- Spotify data download: the most direct official route to a fuller historical record. Spotify’s account-data documentation explains the available listening-history categories.
- Third-party analyzers: useful for charts, custom periods, and deeper exploration, but they may require account authorization or an imported history file.
Request your information through Spotify’s account-data process using the guidance on Spotify’s data documentation. A downloaded history can be analyzed in a spreadsheet or with software, but the result will reflect the data Spotify supplies for that account.
Why your top song may look wrong
A surprising result does not necessarily mean Spotify made an error. Common explanations include:
- A track played for more than 30 seconds and therefore counted under Wrapped’s published rule.
- Autoplay, background playback, playlists, or repeated short sessions generated plays you do not remember intentionally starting.
- A top song and a top artist use different measurements.
- Remasters, clean and explicit versions, deluxe editions, or re-releases appear as separate track entries.
- The account is shared, so the ranking combines multiple listeners.
- Private listening affects taste-based stories differently from total listening time.
- The Wrapped period ended before the end of December.
Spotify does not publish a universal formula for every playback mode and every statistics screen, so avoid assuming that all features handle skips, devices, connected speakers, and alternate versions identically.
Why third-party statistics do not match Spotify
Third-party services may build rankings from Spotify’s downloadable extended history, data imported after a request, or their own live account data. They may also choose different rules for:

- Skipped tracks and short plays
- Duplicate recordings and alternate versions

- Missing or delayed history
As a result, a third-party “most played” list is that service’s calculation—not automatically Spotify’s official ranking. Before connecting an account or uploading history, review the service’s permissions and privacy policy. Avoid tools that request access unrelated to listening statistics.

Use the mobile app first. Listening stats is documented primarily as an in-app feature, and Spotify 20 is explicitly mobile-only. Wrapped availability and interactive behavior can also differ between the mobile app, desktop app, and web player.
If Spotify creates a Top Songs playlist, you can generally use it like a normal playlist on desktop or the web player. That does not mean the full interactive story or every statistic will appear there.
If Listening stats or Wrapped is missing
- Update Spotify from the App Store or Google Play.
- Force-close and reopen the app.
- Search directly for Listening stats, Wrapped, Spotify 20, or Party of the Year(s).
- Confirm that you are using the intended country or market on the account.
- Try the mobile app rather than desktop or web.
- Sign out and sign back in.
- Clear Spotify’s cache or reinstall the app.
- Check Spotify Support for a current rollout, availability, or campaign notice.
These steps can fix an outdated app or session problem, but they cannot override server-side eligibility, market restrictions, language availability, account rollout timing, or an expired campaign.

If you want deeper statistics
Start with Spotify’s own data download if accuracy, control, and ownership of the raw history matter most. For a more convenient chart-based experience, a service such as stats.fm offers features including top tracks, artists, albums, genres, listening time, play counts, comparisons, and historical statistics. It is a third-party service, so its results may differ from Wrapped and its current permissions and terms should be checked before use.
Spotify Premium is not required by the published information for Listening stats, Wrapped, or Spotify 20. Spotify announced Listening stats for both Free and Premium users. A Premium subscription may be relevant for other Spotify benefits, but subscribing does not guarantee access to a feature that is unavailable in a particular market or has ended as a limited-time campaign.
