No—there is no reliable evidence that Kanye West was kicked out of the 2025 Grammy Awards. The best-supported account is that West and Bianca Censori attended the event, appeared on the red carpet, and then left. Reporting from the Associated Press and CNN said the couple was not escorted out.
What happened at the 2025 Grammys?
West and Censori appeared at the 67th Annual Grammy Awards on February 2, 2025, at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. Their red-carpet appearance quickly became one of the night’s biggest stories because of Censori’s outfit. She first wore a fur coat and then removed it, revealing a very sheer, nearly nude-looking ensemble.
The unusual appearance generated intense online attention. Soon afterward, social-media posts claimed that West and Censori had arrived without invitations and had been escorted from the arena. The story appeared to explain why they were photographed on the red carpet but were not prominent participants in the televised ceremony.

That explanation, however, was not supported by the strongest subsequent reporting.
Were Kanye West and Bianca Censori escorted out?
According to reporting reviewed by the Associated Press, a source disputed the claim that West had been removed and said he was an invited guest because he was nominated for a Grammy. CNN separately reported that a source confirmed the couple was not escorted out. TMZ also published a denial of the version involving a police escort.
A report summarizing Variety’s account likewise described the escort-out rumor as untrue and said West walked the carpet, got into his car, and left. That wording should be understood as attributed reporting—not as a detailed public statement from the Recording Academy or Grammy security.
The most accurate conclusion is therefore limited but clear: West and Censori appeared at the Grammys and left, but the available evidence does not establish that Grammy personnel kicked them out.

- West and Censori really did appear at the Grammy venue and on the red carpet.
- Censori’s revealing outfit became an immediate focus of coverage.
- The couple was not seen as a major part of the televised ceremony afterward.
Those facts made an expulsion narrative feel plausible, particularly when it was paired with claims that the couple had not been invited. Entertainment Tonight reportedly circulated that version in a social-media post, describing the pair as uninvited and escorted out; the post was later deleted. Subsequent accounts from AP, CNN, and other outlets contradicted that characterization.
A deleted post is not proof that the opposite account is correct by itself. But in this case, the later reporting included contrary source accounts and West’s documented status as a nominee. That makes “they were kicked out” too strong a claim for the evidence.
Was Kanye West invited to the Grammys?
West was a legitimate nominee at the ceremony. The Recording Academy’s official artist and awards records list him among the nominees for Best Rap Song for “Carnival,” his collaboration with Ty Dolla $ign and other artists.
The Associated Press also reported that a source described West as an invited guest because of that nomination. This substantially weakens the central idea that he simply arrived at the arena with no legitimate connection to the ceremony.
There is an important distinction, though. Being a nominee does not publicly establish every detail of a person’s credentials, seating, backstage access, or guest arrangements. The available reporting does not provide a complete security log or a public explanation of the couple’s precise movements after the red carpet. It supports the conclusion that West had a valid reason to attend—not a claim that every detail of his access has been documented.
What happened to “Carnival” at the Grammys?
“Carnival” was nominated for Best Rap Song at the 67th Annual Grammy Awards. The Recording Academy lists the nomination in West’s official Grammy record. The award went to Kendrick Lamar for “Not Like Us.”
The nomination offers a straightforward explanation for West’s presence at the venue, independent of speculation about the red-carpet appearance. It also explains why describing him as entirely uninvited is misleading.

West’s connection to the Grammys predates the 2025 ceremony by decades. The Recording Academy identifies The College Dropout as part of his early Grammy history and records nominations including Album of the Year and Best Rap Album in 2005. The Academy’s artist biography also says he earned his first career Grammy awards during that period.
For readers interested in the Grammy-era catalog, The College Dropout vinyl is a relevant physical keepsake. A special-edition double-vinyl release is listed through Amazon’s music storefront, and the album is directly tied to the early Grammy history documented by the Recording Academy. It is a music-collection recommendation, not evidence about what happened at the 2025 ceremony.
What is confirmed—and what is not?
| Claim | Assessment |
|---|---|
| West and Censori appeared at the 2025 Grammys. | Confirmed. They were photographed at the event and on the red carpet. |
| Censori’s outfit became a major part of the coverage. | Confirmed. Her coat-and-sheer-outfit reveal dominated online discussion. |
| West was nominated for “Carnival.” | Confirmed. The Recording Academy lists the Best Rap Song nomination. |
| The couple was escorted out. | Contradicted by the strongest reviewed reporting. AP and CNN cited accounts saying they were not escorted out. |
| They arrived without invitations. | Not established. The initial claim was later deleted or contradicted, while West’s nominee status supports his legitimate connection to the event. |
| They were removed because of Censori’s outfit. | Unsubstantiated. No reviewed source provides evidence that Grammy officials expelled them for that reason. |
| The couple’s exact exit route and private logistics are known. | Not established. No detailed public security record or named Grammy security statement was reviewed. |
So, did Kanye West get kicked out?
Probably not—and the available evidence says no. The defensible account is that Kanye West, also known as Ye, attended the February 2, 2025, Grammy Awards as a nominee for “Carnival,” made a highly conspicuous red-carpet appearance with Bianca Censori, and left.
It remains possible that the public does not know every private detail of the couple’s departure. What the evidence does not support is the viral certainty that they arrived uninvited and were forcibly removed from the Grammys.
