The film presents that familiar story as a family-oriented animated musical. Its central arc moves from David’s quiet devotion and shepherd life to his confrontation with a powerful enemy and his emerging role as a leader. Netflix describes him as a young shepherd prophesied to become king who relies on faith while facing formidable opponents.

Is DAVID suitable for children?
The film is positioned as family entertainment and is rated PG, but that does not mean it is free of frightening or action-oriented material. Netflix’s descriptors include combat and biblical-times themes, along with family, music, and faith-and-spirituality categories.
Angel Guild guidance recommended the movie for ages 5 and older, specifically noting cartoon violence and scenes involving bone-clad warriors. Parents should consider a child’s sensitivity to battle imagery, threatening enemies, and supernatural or dramatic biblical conflict before watching.
