Uncharted — 10.5 million views
Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg’s adventure film ranked No. 2 globally among English-language movies. Its performance was especially notable because it was a licensed title rather than a Netflix original. Reporting on the week connected its strong showing with availability across multiple territories, including France, Brazil, and Morocco; that explanation should not be treated as a universal reason for its performance in every Netflix market.
-
Despicable Me 3 — 7.9 million views
The third Despicable Me film was the highest-ranked entry from the animated franchise, taking No. 3. Its position helped make family viewing one of the defining features of this week’s chart.
-
To Catch a Killer — 6.7 million views
The crime thriller occupied fourth place with 6.7 million views, providing one of the week’s strongest alternatives to the chart’s romance, action, and family titles.
-
Minions — 6.1 million views
The Despicable Me spin-off ranked No. 5. Together with Despicable Me 3, Despicable Me 2, and the original Despicable Me, it gave the franchise four places in the English-film Top 10.

Despicable Me — 4 million views
The original Despicable Me completed the Top 10 with 4 million views. Its appearance meant that four of the week’s ten English-film positions belonged to the broader Despicable Me and Minions franchise.
What stands out about this week’s chart?
La Dolce Villa remained the biggest global English-language hit
With 14.1 million views, La Dolce Villa led the second-place Uncharted by 3.6 million views. Its second consecutive week at No. 1 suggests that the audience for the romantic comedy continued after February 14 rather than disappearing immediately after Valentine’s Day.
Uncharted was the strongest licensed movie
Uncharted’s No. 2 position is a reminder that Netflix’s global charts are not limited to Netflix-produced films. Licensed movies can rise sharply when they become available in several territories at once, although a title’s licensing window and chart position may differ from one country to another.
Family animation dominated the middle and lower part of the list
Despicable Me 3, Minions, Despicable Me 2, and Despicable Me occupied four of the ten English-film places. No other franchise had a comparable presence in this week’s chart. The concentration points to substantial family-viewing demand, but it does not mean that the films were ranked by reviews or overall quality.

Non-English movies also trending globally
Netflix publishes separate global charts for English-language and non-English-language films. The following titles therefore should not be mixed into the English-film ranking above, even though they were among the most-watched movies on Netflix during the same February 17–23 reporting week:
- Honeymoon Crasher — 10.4 million views; a French film and the No. 1 non-English movie for the week.
- Dhoom Dhaam — 5.8 million views; an Indian film.
- Love Forever — 5.6 million views; a Swedish film.
- The Most Beautiful Girl in the World — 4.1 million views; an Indonesian film.
Honeymoon Crasher was particularly close to Uncharted in the global weekly numbers, but the two titles belong to different Netflix chart categories. Comparing them directly as if they were positions one through two in a single list would create a misleading ranking.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. How Netflix’s “views” metric should be understood
Netflix’s Top 10 list uses views as its reporting metric. In this article, “most popular” means the titles that attracted the most reported viewing during the specified global weekly period. It does not mean the films were the best-reviewed, most awarded, or most influential movies of the week.
The figures also describe a completed historical reporting period. They should not be presented as evidence that the same titles are still trending now. A movie can leave a country’s Netflix catalog, move down the local chart, or become unavailable after its licensing period ends.

Are these movies still on Netflix?
That depends on your country and the date you check. This historical global ranking does not verify current availability in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, or any other specific market. Search Netflix in your territory before planning a watch party, and remember that a title appearing in Netflix’s global weekly report does not guarantee that it is currently available where you live.
Bottom line
La Dolce Villa was Netflix’s global English-film leader for the February 17–23, 2025 reporting week, with Uncharted and Despicable Me 3 completing the top three. The chart combined romance, a licensed adventure movie, crime drama, Netflix comedies, and an unusually strong four-title showing from the Despicable Me/Minions franchise. Treat the list as a record of weekly viewing attention—not a quality ranking—and check your local Netflix catalog for current availability.
