Crunchyroll’s multiple-profiles feature is not still “coming.” The company announced it on April 3, 2024, began rolling it out on April 22, and said it was available to all Premium members by April 24. Premium subscribers can now create up to five profiles on one account, although profiles do not increase the number of simultaneous streams allowed by a plan.
What Crunchyroll profiles do
Each profile keeps its own viewing experience, including:

- Watch progress and viewing history
- Saved lists, including Crunchylists
- Personalized recommendations
- Profile name, avatar and background
- Content-restriction and mature-content settings
These are subdivisions of one Crunchyroll account, not separate logins, billing accounts or memberships. Crunchyroll describes the feature as useful for multiple people in one household, but everyone still shares the account’s subscription entitlements.
Crunchyroll’s announcement documents the April 2024 launch timeline, while its current profile support page describes the available controls.

Eligibility and profile limits
- Multiple profiles require a Crunchyroll Premium membership.
- Free accounts cannot create or use active additional profiles.
- An account can have up to five profiles total, including the primary profile.
- The primary profile cannot be deleted.
If Premium is canceled, additional profiles become grayed out when the account returns to free status rather than immediately being erased. They can become usable again if the account resubscribes.
Profiles are not simultaneous-stream allowances
A profile separates recommendations and watch data; it does not let more devices stream than the subscription permits. Crunchyroll’s current U.S. support documentation lists these simultaneous-stream limits:
| U.S. plan | Simultaneous streams |
|---|---|
| Fan | 1 |
| Mega Fan | Up to 4 |
| Ultimate Fan | Up to 6 |
The six-stream Ultimate Fan limit is identified as U.S.-only in that support documentation, so these numbers should not be generalized to every country. Five profiles therefore do not guarantee five concurrent viewers.
See Crunchyroll’s simultaneous-stream guidance for the current limits and troubleshooting information.

Device compatibility
Crunchyroll’s current English-language support page says profiles work on almost all supported devices, with two documented exceptions: Nintendo Switch and Apple Vision Pro. Compatibility can change independently of the feature, so check the current support documentation before treating any device list as permanent.
What happens when you delete a profile?
Deleting a profile permanently removes its viewing history, saved lists and other profile-specific data. The action cannot be undone, and the primary profile cannot be deleted. Check which profile is active before confirming deletion; recreating a profile will not restore its old history.
The Game Vault exception
Other profiles can download games from Crunchyroll’s Game Vault, but game progress remains linked to the primary profile. Profiles therefore provide separate anime viewing data without fully separating Game Vault saves.
Current U.S. Premium prices and choosing a tier
Crunchyroll’s February 2, 2026 pricing announcement lists the following U.S. monthly prices. Existing monthly subscribers saw the new prices beginning with the first billing date after March 4, 2026.

Crunchyroll also advertised a limited-time U.S. Fan annual offer of $66.99, approximately $5.58 per month when paid annually. Promotional availability and prices can change; the figures above reflect the announcement dated February 2, 2026. See the pricing announcement and official Premium page for current checkout terms.
Upgrade based on the number of people who need to watch at the same time and on other Premium benefits such as offline viewing or Game Vault access—not on the profile count alone. A free user seeking only separate histories may find that the subscription cost outweighs that single benefit.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. When profiles do not solve the problem
- They do not create separate subscriptions or independent billing.
- They do not override a plan’s simultaneous-stream limit.
- They do not guarantee support on Nintendo Switch or Apple Vision Pro.
- They do not separate Game Vault progress from the primary profile.
- They do not preserve data after a profile is deleted.
- They are not available as active profiles on free accounts.
Quick fixes for common problems
“I don’t see Add Profile.”
- Confirm that the account is Premium.
- Try the Crunchyroll website instead of the device app.
- Sign out and back in, then update the app.
- Check whether the device is a Nintendo Switch or Apple Vision Pro.
- If the feature remains missing on an eligible platform, contact Crunchyroll Support.
“Two people still can’t watch.”
Check the plan’s stream allowance. Profiles organize account data but cannot increase the number of permitted simultaneous streams.
“My history or list disappeared.”
Check the active profile first. Each profile has its own history and saved lists.

“My profiles vanished after canceling.”
Additional profiles are grayed out when the account returns to free status and may become usable again after resubscribing.
“I deleted the wrong profile.”
Deletion is irreversible; the profile’s history and saved lists cannot be recovered through the profile system.
The bottom line
Crunchyroll finally solved the shared-history problem in April 2024. Premium subscribers can create up to five personalized profiles, but the feature remains one account: your plan still controls simultaneous viewing, device exceptions still apply, and deleting a profile destroys its data.
