Yes—if your channel and livestream meet YouTube’s eligibility and content rules, product tags can earn commissions on qualifying purchases. You may also tag eligible products from your own connected store. Streaming 24/7 does not qualify a channel by itself or guarantee that tags appear, viewers buy, or you earn money.
How product tagging can generate earnings
YouTube offers two distinct routes: tag products from participating brands through the YouTube Shopping affiliate program, or tag products from your own connected store. Affiliate earnings depend on qualifying purchases and the applicable commission terms; sales of your own products depend on eligible purchases and your store’s terms. YouTube’s livestream shopping guidance explains how tagging works.
Product details such as price, stock, shipping and retailer terms are controlled by the retailer and can change. YouTube does not publish one universal commission rate that lets creators predict income across products.
Who is eligible to tag products?
YouTube Shopping affiliate products
YouTube lists the program as available to eligible creators based in Argentina, Brazil, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, the Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, the United States and Vietnam. Stated requirements include being in the YouTube Partner Program (YPP), meeting the subscriber threshold, and not being a music or Official Artist channel or associated with music partners. A channel must not be set as Made for Kids or have a significant number of videos marked that way.

Availability and eligibility can change, so check the Earn section in YouTube Studio for your channel’s current status and requirements. See YouTube’s affiliate program eligibility information.
Products from your own store
Creators can connect an eligible store and tag their own products. Store connection and product availability are subject to YouTube’s requirements; fulfillment, shipping and returns depend on the store and its terms. YouTube’s instructions for managing products from your store explain the setup.

Amazon products
Amazon tagging has additional conditions: YouTube says creators must be in YPP and enrolled in the YouTube Shopping affiliate program in the United States, Brazil or India. U.S. creators must also link an active Amazon Influencer Program or Amazon Associates account to their YouTube channel. Check YouTube’s Amazon tagging requirements before planning around this route.
When livestream product tags may not appear
YouTube says products are not shown in specified cases, including content with claimed content, Made for Kids content, content deemed limited or ineligible for monetization, paid content, or content blocked for ads. A stream running continuously does not override these restrictions. You must also own or clear rights to the livestream material, including necessary music rights. Review YouTube’s tagging rules for live streams and applicable copyright requirements.

Make tags useful and compliant
- Tag products that are meaningfully related to the stream and featured prominently; YouTube’s guidance says products should be used safely.
- If a stream includes paid placement or an endorsement, use the required disclosures, including YouTube’s paid product placement and endorsement disclosures.
- Tell viewers clearly that products can be shopped, explain or demonstrate them, and disclose when you may earn a commission.
- Make sure the stream’s content and music rights are cleared; a tag does not make unlicensed material permissible.
YouTube’s live-stream tagging instructions and creator tips for shopping livestreams cover product presentation and disclosure.
Add and manage product tags
- In YouTube Studio, open the live stream setup or Live Control Room and add eligible products before going live, or add them during the stream.
- For a desktop stream in Live Control Room, you can enable automatic product pinning. YouTube rotates tagged products, pinning them one after another every 60 seconds.
- After the stream, you can add tags; products newly tagged afterward can appear in the replay.
Exact controls depend on the current Studio interface and your channel’s eligibility. Follow YouTube’s computer instructions for tagging live streams.

What determines commission and actual earnings?
The rate shown in YouTube Studio is an estimate based on the current rate; the rate active on the purchase date applies. Rates vary by product and seller, can change with promotions or seller strategy, and may differ when YouTube matches a tag to a local seller for an international viewer. YouTube also says a creator may earn on other eligible items a viewer buys after clicking a product tag. None of this guarantees a purchase or a particular amount. See YouTube’s explanation of commission rates and earnings.
YouTube reports 30 billion shopping-related watch hours on its platform in 2023. That is platform-wide viewing, not a sales figure or an earnings estimate for an individual creator. YouTube also reported a more than 25% increase in watch time for videos that help people shop in 2023; that figure combines video-on-demand, Shorts and live content, not livestreams alone. Neither statistic predicts the results of a particular 24/7 channel.

Keep a 24/7 stream running without tying up a computer
For a stream made from uploaded videos, StreamNeo is a cloud option: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. It loops uploaded videos to YouTube; it does not stream from a camera or send to other platforms. Nothing has to stay on at home, videos stream as uploaded up to 4K 60fps at one price per slot, and StreamNeo automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly pricing is $9.99 per month. Product tagging still depends on YouTube’s eligibility and content rules, not on the streaming service. Learn more at StreamNeo, or start the free day.
