Microsoft Clipchamp is a more approachable starting point for straightforward projects: Microsoft currently lists unlimited watermark-free exports up to 1080p on its free plan. The right choice depends on your computer, experience, footage, and export needs—not just whether an editor is free.
Choose by the work you need to do
For a documentary or other YouTube video, the editor needs to fit both the project and the machine you will use. A simple cut-and-assemble workflow has different demands from a timeline with detailed color work, effects, and audio finishing.
- Editing depth: Are you trimming and arranging clips, or do you need more involved control over color, effects, audio, and the timeline?
- Platform and workflow: Check supported operating systems, browser requirements, device capability, and whether you need to move projects between computers.
- Export rules: Check the free plan’s maximum resolution, watermark policy, and any export limits.
- Paid boundaries: A free editor may still reserve particular effects, stock assets, cloud features, or export options for a paid plan.
Plan details can change. Confirm the current terms for the exact version and features you intend to use before building a project around them.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Resolve’s Edit page documentation describes support for professional media formats and Quick Export, which can render a finished video and upload it to YouTube, Vimeo, or Dropbox. The upload option is a convenience, not a substitute for checking the exported file and the destination’s settings.
A deep feature set can also mean a steeper learning curve. Resolve is not automatically the easiest choice for a first-time editor, and whether it runs comfortably depends on the computer and media involved. Check Blackmagic Design’s current system requirements and see whether the workflow suits your project before committing to it.

Editing and keeping a documentary available are separate jobs
A video editor helps you make and export a finished video; it does not itself keep a YouTube livestream running. If your channel also uses an always-on stream of uploaded, prerecorded videos, that requires a separate workflow. StreamNeo is a YouTube-only cloud service for looping uploaded videos or playlists; it is not a camera livestream tool and is not an editor.
Or let it run in the cloud
With StreamNeo, upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. The cloud keeps the stream running without a computer, OBS, or home internet connection staying on. Any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps streams as made at one flat price per slot, with no re-encode or quality tiers; if YouTube drops the stream, StreamNeo automatically recovers. The first day is free with no card. Monthly pricing is $9.99 per month.
See StreamNeo for the service details, or start your free first day.
