In current U.S. listings, you cannot reliably stream all six pre-Scream 7 films free in one place: Scream (1996) is listed free through Kanopy or Hoopla, while Scream (2022) and Scream VI are listed free with ads on Pluto TV. The remaining three are not verified free in current evidence.
The six-film catch-up list is Scream (1996), Scream 2 (1997), Scream 3 (2000), Scream 4 (2011), Scream (2022), and Scream VI (2023). The two films titled Scream need year labels, and Scream 7 is a separate seventh feature; Paramount Pictures describes the film as a horror story involving a new Ghostface killer targeting Sidney Prescott’s daughter.
Key takeaways
- There are six films to watch before Scream 7: Scream (1996), Scream 2 (1997), Scream 3 (2000), Scream 4 (2011), Scream (2022), and Scream VI (2023).
- Current U.S. availability evidence does not verify all six films as free on one service or combination of services.
- Scream (1996) is currently listed as free through Kanopy and Hoopla, although library eligibility may be required.
- Scream (2022) and Scream VI (2023) are currently listed as free with ads on Pluto TV.
- Scream 2, Scream 3, and Scream 4 do not have verified free options in the current U.S. listings.
- Paramount+ is the clearest paid one-service option because its official page says all seven Scream movies are streaming there.
Where can I watch all the Scream movies for free?
The honest answer is that the six-film marathon is currently fragmented. The verified free routes cover the original through library services and the two most recent films through Pluto TV, but the available evidence does not show a free option for Scream 2, Scream 3, or Scream 4.
| Film | Route shown in the current listing | Free status | Practical note |
|---|---|---|---|
| Scream (1996) | Kanopy, Hoopla, and subscription services | Yes, through listed library services | A participating library or other eligibility requirement may be necessary. |
| Scream 2 (1997) | Netflix, fuboTV, Paramount+ and related channels; rental and purchase options | Not verified free | Recheck the live listing before starting a marathon. |
| Scream 3 (2000) | Netflix, fuboTV, Paramount+ and related channels; rental and purchase options | Not verified free | The current record shows paid subscription, rental, or purchase paths. |
| Scream 4 (2011) | Paramount+, fuboTV, YouTube TV, and rental or purchase options | No; the current record reports no free streaming option | The free status is especially worth checking again because catalogs rotate. |
| Scream (2022) | Pluto TV, Netflix Standard with Ads, and Paramount+ | Yes, with ads on Pluto TV | Use the year when searching so the film is not confused with the 1996 original. |
| Scream VI (2023) | Pluto TV, Netflix Standard with Ads, and Paramount+ | Yes, with ads on Pluto TV | Pluto TV availability is subject to change. |
The table separates three different meanings of access: genuinely listed free library viewing, free viewing supported by advertising, and paid subscription, rental, or purchase access. A title marked not verified free is not a claim that no free stream can ever appear; it means the current U.S. record does not confirm one.

Which six movies count before Scream 7?
The pre-Scream 7 catch-up list contains six released features, with two of them sharing the title Scream:
- Scream (1996)
- Scream 2 (1997)
- Scream 3 (2000)
- Scream 4 (2011)
- Scream (2022)
- Scream VI (2023)
Amazon’s franchise watch guide also distinguishes the films by release year. Always include the year in a search for Scream (1996) or Scream (2022); searching only for the title can return the wrong movie.
Scream 7 is the seventh feature and is not part of the six-film catch-up list. Paramount Pictures describes Scream 7 as a horror film in which a new Ghostface killer targets Sidney Prescott’s daughter.
What does free mean for Kanopy, Hoopla, and Pluto TV?
Free access comes through two different models in the current listings: library-based access for Scream (1996) and ad-supported access for Scream (2022) and Scream VI.

Kanopy and Hoopla: library-based access
The current U.S. listing for Scream (1996) identifies Kanopy and Hoopla as free options. Kanopy and Hoopla are library-linked services, so access can depend on whether a reader belongs to a participating library and meets that service’s eligibility rules. The listing does not establish that every library member will receive identical availability.
Pluto TV: free with advertising
The current listing for Scream (2022) and the listing for Scream VI identify Pluto TV as a free-with-ads option. Pluto TV’s official service page advertises free television and on-demand viewing, but a general free-service page does not prove that every film in the franchise is available at the same time.
That distinction matters for the marathon. Library access may cover the 1996 film without a streaming subscription, and Pluto TV may cover the 2022 and 2023 films with advertisements, but neither route currently verifies the three middle entries as free.
Are all six Scream movies on Pluto TV?
No. Current title-level U.S. evidence verifies Pluto TV for Scream (2022) and Scream VI (2023), not for all six pre-Scream 7 films.

The current records for Scream 2 and Scream 3 show subscription, rental, and purchase paths without a verified free option, while the current record for Scream 4 explicitly reports no free streaming option. Pluto TV’s catalog can change, so the complete lineup should be checked on the publication date rather than inferred from the presence of two films.
Is Scream 2 free anywhere?
Scream 2 (1997) is not verified as free in the current U.S. availability record. The current JustWatch listing shows Netflix, fuboTV, Paramount+ and related channels, along with rental and purchase routes, but no confirmed free option.
Scream 3 (2000) has the same practical limitation in its current U.S. listing: subscription, rental, and purchase options are shown, but free streaming is not verified. Readers should check both titles again immediately before watching because licensing can change between research and publication.
Where can I stream Scream 4?
Scream 4 (2011) is currently listed through Paramount+, fuboTV, YouTube TV, and paid rental or purchase services, while the current U.S. record explicitly says no free streaming option is available. The listing does not provide a basis for promising a free stream on Pluto TV or another ad-supported service.

What is the simplest way to watch all six?
If convenience matters more than a zero-dollar route, Paramount+ is the clearest one-service option in the available evidence. In an official service editorial dated June 2, 2026, Paramount+ says: “Yes. All seven Scream movies are now streaming on Paramount+.”
That statement makes Paramount+ a route for all six catch-up films and Scream 7, according to the official page. It is a paid-service claim, not a free-streaming claim, and it should be treated as a dated catalog statement rather than a permanent guarantee. The available research does not establish a current U.S. subscription price, trial, plan requirement, or future availability window, so those details should not be assumed.
| Route | Verified coverage | Access type | Best use | Limitation |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Kanopy or Hoopla plus Pluto TV | Scream (1996), Scream (2022), and Scream VI (2023) | Library-based free access plus free viewing with ads | Minimizing out-of-pocket cost where the free listings apply | No verified free route for Scream 2, Scream 3, or Scream 4. |
| Paramount+ | All seven films, according to the official Paramount+ page | Paid subscription; current price not established here | Watching the complete franchise through one service | Catalog rights, plans, and pricing can change. |
| Other subscription services | Scream 2, Scream 3, and Scream 4 appear in current subscription listings | Paid subscription | Using a service already in the household | The dossier does not establish that one of these services carries all six. |
| Rental or purchase | Paid routes are shown for Scream 2, Scream 3, and Scream 4 | Pay per title | Filling the gaps without adding a long-term subscription | Live prices are not supplied and must be compared at viewing time. |
| Physical Scream 1–6 collection | The first six films in one documented physical set | One-time physical purchase; current edition and price require verification | Avoiding streaming-catalog rotation | The set covers the first six films and does not automatically include Scream 7. |
The Paramount+ claim is supported by Paramount+’s official Scream viewing guide. The individual title records remain the better source for checking which films are free, ad-supported, or paid on a particular day.

No fixed dollar amount can honestly be named from the current evidence because rental prices, subscription prices, library eligibility, and catalog availability were not supplied as stable figures. The potentially lowest-cost strategy is a mixed route rather than one guaranteed free service:

- Check Kanopy and Hoopla for Scream (1996) if you have access to a participating library.
- Check Pluto TV for Scream (2022) and Scream VI (2023), accepting that the free access is ad-supported.
- Compare the live subscription, rental, and purchase choices for Scream 2, Scream 3, and Scream 4.
- Compare that total with the current cost of a Paramount+ subscription if watching all six through one service is more important than avoiding a subscription.
Readers who already pay for Paramount+ should first search that service, while readers who want to spend nothing should begin with the library and Pluto TV checks and should not assume that the remaining three films are free.
What if you want a permanent copy?
If you want all six movies in one place without depending on a streaming license, search Amazon for the Scream 1-6 DVD collection. A documented six-disc physical collection covers the first six films, but verify the current edition, region, format, stock, and price before buying. Do not assume that a listing for the six-film set includes Scream 7.
Physical media removes the risk of a film disappearing from a streaming catalog, but it is not a free-streaming solution and it may be less convenient than an on-demand service. The physical set is best treated as a fallback for viewers who value reliable access to the six-film catch-up lineup.
How should you check the lineup before a marathon?
Check each title on the service itself on the day you plan to watch, because streaming rights are volatile and the current evidence is only an availability snapshot.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
- Search the two films titled Scream by year: 1996 and 2022.
- Confirm whether the page says free, free with ads, library access, subscription, rental, or purchase.
- Recheck Scream 2, Scream 3, and Scream 4 immediately before the marathon; current evidence does not verify those three as free.
- Check Pluto TV’s title-level availability rather than assuming that the presence of Scream (2022) and Scream VI means the entire franchise is there.
- If you use Kanopy or Hoopla, confirm that your library participates and that the title is available through your account.
- Keep Scream 7 separate from the six-film catch-up list, and use release year labels to avoid starting with the wrong Scream.
The Bottom Line
Bottom line: The current U.S. evidence does not support the promise that all six pre-Scream 7 movies are free together. Kanopy or Hoopla cover Scream (1996) where library access is available, Pluto TV lists Scream (2022) and Scream VI free with ads, and Paramount+ is the clearest paid one-service route for the complete lineup.
