Spoiler and mature-content warning: IGN Guides’ September 28, 2023 compilation brings together nearly two hours of Baldur’s Gate 3 romance footage. It is best understood as a curated gameplay video of major intimate scenes—not a complete, officially catalogued archive of every sexual encounter in the game.
What the IGN compilation actually contains
The video, titled Baldur’s Gate 3: All Romance Scenes (NSFW Version), collects romance cinematics from Larian Studios’ role-playing game. The footage covers scenes involving the game’s Origin companions and several other characters, with contemporary coverage identifying material connected to 12 characters.
The headline’s “two full hours” is a rounded description. The compilation runs to nearly two hours, rather than exactly 120 minutes. More importantly, “uncensored” is not entirely literal: reports at the time said approximately 10 minutes of particularly explicit footage had been left out because it could not be uploaded to YouTube.
IGN’s own framing was also more cautious than the headline. The editors said they believed the video represented every major romance scene involving the Origin characters and additional characters. That is different from proving that every intimate animation, implied encounter, flirtation, or sexual reference in the game appears in the recording.

Why the compilation was notable
Baldur’s Gate 3 makes romance part of its broader role-playing system. Companions react to the player’s actions, approval can rise or fall, and relationships develop through conversations, personal quests, camp scenes, and pivotal story decisions. The resulting scenes are not presented as a separate gallery. They are earned—or sometimes triggered—inside different playthroughs.
Capturing the material therefore required more than recording one continuous campaign. A compilation like IGN’s brings together scenes that normally depend on different companions, different approval levels, mutually exclusive choices, and separate story paths. It functions as a record of the game’s cinematic approach to intimacy, while necessarily removing much of the context that leads to each moment.
Full romances versus individual encounters
Descriptions of the game’s romance system have changed as guides have been updated. Current coverage generally distinguishes between eight full romance routes and a wider group of characters involved in one-off or otherwise limited intimate encounters.
| Category | Characters or examples | What the distinction means |
|---|---|---|
| Full companion romances | Shadowheart, Astarion, Wyll, Gale, Lae’zel, Karlach, Halsin, Minthara | Relationships can develop across the campaign and include companion-specific story content. |
| Additional intimate encounters | Nym and Sorn, Naoise Nallinto, Mizora, Haarlep | These scenes do not function like the complete companion romance arcs. |
| Other mature relationship content | The Guardian/Emperor encounter and related scenes | These are significant story or intimate moments, but should not automatically be counted as full romances. |
This is why the older shorthand that Baldur’s Gate 3 has “10 romanceable party members” can mislead. A character may be available for a sexual or romantic scene without offering a full, continuing companion route.

How to control explicit content in the game
Players who want to see the available cinematics—or limit what appears on screen—can use the game’s current content controls:

- Adjust Show Sexual and Violent Cinematics, Show Genitals, and Share Private Moments as needed.
Patch 7 renamed the former Show Cinematic Nudity setting to Show Sexual and Violent Cinematics. The new wording is important: this option is not only a nudity switch. It can block sexual cinematics containing nudity and selected especially graphic violent scenes involving gore.
Turning the setting off does not delete romance routes, prevent companion relationships, or remove the choices that lead to them. It changes how certain scenes are presented. It also should not be treated as a universal “no sex” mode: suggestive dialogue, references, implied encounters, mature themes, and some non-nude content can remain.
What “uncensored” leaves out
The compilation’s title reflects how the video was marketed, but it should not be used as evidence that every adult scene was preserved in full. YouTube’s content rules limited what could be uploaded, and the reported omission of around 10 minutes is a material qualification.
There are other reasons the video cannot be treated as a definitive database:
- Some scenes are implied rather than shown directly.
- Romance outcomes can vary according to dialogue and story choices.
- Different patches may alter presentation, availability, or scene details.
- A video of major scenes does not document every flirtation, intimate exchange, or companion reaction.
- “Romance” and “sexual encounter” are not interchangeable categories in the game.
The most accurate description is therefore: IGN’s nearly two-hour compilation of major romance scenes, with some especially explicit material omitted.

A warning about recording and sharing scenes
Players should also separate the game’s own content settings from platform rules. In one reported Xbox case, recording and uploading an explicit Baldur’s Gate 3 romance scene led to escalating enforcement: a four-day suspension for the first clip, 22 additional days for the second, and 366 days for the third. That was reported as an individual case, not as proof of a universal Baldur’s Gate 3 ban or a blanket policy applied identically to every player.
The practical lesson is simple: platform moderation rules can apply even when a scene is generated legitimately inside the game. Before capturing or publishing explicit footage, check the rules for the console, recording service, and platform where the clip will be shared.

The 2023 video remains a snapshot of the game’s romance content as it was assembled at launch-era coverage, not a permanent official collection. Later patches and updated guides have refined how the romance roster is described. Current reference material identifies eight complete romance routes, alongside several additional intimate encounters.
For viewers interested in the production of the game, the compilation is useful because it shows how extensively Larian used cinematic staging, facial animation, voice performance, and player choice to portray relationships. For players seeking a spoiler-free guide, however, it is the opposite: watching it can reveal companion arcs, story turns, and outcomes that normally unfold over dozens of hours.

Is the Baldur’s Gate 3 romance compilation exactly two hours long?
No. It was described as nearly two hours. “Two full hours” is a rounded headline rather than an exact runtime.

Does the video include every Baldur’s Gate 3 sex scene?
It should not be treated as exhaustive. It collects major romance scenes, but reports said roughly 10 minutes of more explicit footage was omitted for YouTube, and not every intimate or implied encounter is necessarily included.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsHow many full romance options are in Baldur’s Gate 3?
Current guides generally list eight full romance routes: Shadowheart, Astarion, Wyll, Gale, Lae’zel, Karlach, Halsin, and Minthara. Other characters offer limited or one-off intimate encounters.
Does disabling explicit cinematics remove romance from the game?
No. In Options → Accessibility → Explicit Content, the setting controls the presentation of sexual and selected graphic violent cinematics. It does not remove romance choices or relationship routes, and it does not guarantee that all mature references disappear.
The Bottom Line
IGN’s video is a substantial collection of Baldur’s Gate 3’s major romance cinematics, but the headline overstates its completeness. It runs nearly two hours, includes scenes associated with 12 characters, and was marketed as an NSFW compilation; nevertheless, some especially explicit footage was reportedly excluded. Treat it as a curated spoiler-heavy record of the game’s romance presentation, not as an official archive of every adult scene.
