All 72 cameos in Happy Gilmore 2 cannot be treated as one official total: the commonly cited fan count is 72, while Netflix Tudum’s broad 2025 guide lists 76 named entries. The full roster includes golfers, athletes, broadcasters, musicians, comedians, podcasters, Sandler family members, returning characters, and cameo-like footage.
The sequel turns its guest list into part of the viewing experience. Some celebrities play story roles, some appear in the tournament or media world, and others deliver brief callbacks that are easy to miss. The categories below identify who appears and explain why published lists count them differently.
Key takeaways
- The commonly cited total is 72 cameos, but Netflix Tudum’s broad 2025 cast guide contains 76 named cast-and-appearance entries when counted inclusively.
- The roster extends beyond golfers to athletes, broadcasters, comedians, actors, musicians, podcasters, internet personalities, Sandler family members, and returning characters.
- Bad Bunny, playing Oscar Mejías, has one of the most substantial guest roles as Happy’s caddie, while Benny Safdie’s Frank Manatee drives the Maxi Golf publicity storyline.
- The professional-golfer group is the largest single cameo category, with appearances ranging from Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler to Jack Nicklaus, Lee Trevino, and Nancy Lopez.
- Some appearances are callbacks, recurring roles, or television footage rather than conventional one-scene cameos, which is why different published lists produce different totals.
Who are all the cameos in Happy Gilmore 2?
Happy Gilmore 2 has roughly 70-plus recognizable appearances, with the fan-friendly count commonly given as 72; however, Netflix Tudum’s broad 2025 cast guide lists 76 named entries when principal cast, family members, golfers, athletes, broadcasters, and other guests are counted together. The safest answer is a full roster with a disclosed counting caveat, not a claim that 72 is an official studio audit.
The sequel is a 2025 Netflix follow-up to the 1996 Adam Sandler comedy. Adam Sandler returns as Happy, Christopher McDonald returns as Shooter McGavin, Julie Bowen returns as Virginia Venit, and Ben Stiller returns as Hal L. Netflix’s official cast and cameo guide confirms the film’s unusually broad guest roster.

How should the 72-cameo count be understood?
The phrase “all 72 cameos in Happy Gilmore 2” is a useful fan tally, but it does not follow one universally accepted counting rule. Netflix’s categorized guide yields 76 named entries when counted inclusively, while Time’s cameo guide and Men’s Health’s identification guide call attention to brief appearances that are less prominent in the official list.
| Counting choice | Why it changes the total | How this article treats it |
|---|---|---|
| Principal cast | Adam Sandler, Julie Bowen, Christopher McDonald, and Ben Stiller are central returning performers, not conventional cameos. | Listed separately as principal or returning appearances. |
| Family and Sandler regulars | The five Gilmore children, Jackie Sandler, and longtime collaborators may be included or excluded. | Included in the complete roster, but labeled accurately. |
| Recurring roles | John Daly’s appearance is more than a single isolated walk-on. | Listed as a recurring guest appearance. |
| Golf and sports ensemble | Professional golfers and broadcasters can be counted as cameos or as part of the ensemble cast. | Given its own category rather than hidden in a generic list. |
| Footage and brief appearances | Cameron Boyce appears through television footage, which is not the same as a newly filmed role. | Identified as a cameo-like screen appearance. |
Which original and returning Happy Gilmore characters appear?
The returning-world appearances connect the sequel to the first film and to Sandler’s recurring comedy circle.
| Performer | Role or appearance | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Adam Sandler | Happy Gilmore | Returns as the central character attempting a golf comeback. |
| Julie Bowen | Virginia Venit | Returns as Virginia. |
| Christopher McDonald | Shooter McGavin | Returns as Happy’s familiar rival. |
| Ben Stiller | Hal L. | Returns as Hal. |
| Bad Bunny, also known as Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio | Oscar Mejías | Plays Happy’s caddie and has a story-integrated role. |
| John Daly | Himself | Appears as himself and as a recurring houseguest. |
| Lavell Crawford | Slim Peterson | Plays Chubbs’ son. |
| Blake Clark | Beach Man | Provides a returning-film-world connection. |
| Travis Kelce | The waiter | One of the sequel’s most recognizable surprise appearances. |
| Maxwell Jacob Friedman | Gordie | Plays one of Happy’s sons. |
| Philip Fine Schneider | Bobby | Plays one of Happy’s sons. |
| Ethan Cutkosky | Wayne | Plays one of Happy’s sons. |
| Conor Sherry | Terry | Plays one of Happy’s sons. |
| Sunny Sandler | Vienna | Plays Happy’s daughter. |
| Sadie Sandler | Charlotte | Appears as Charlotte. |
| Jackie Sandler | Monica | Appears as Monica. |
The five Gilmore children are easy to miss when a list counts only celebrity walk-ons, but they are part of the inclusive roster. The same is true of family appearances and Sandler collaborators, which helps explain why a “cameo” list can be broader than a conventional guest-star list.

Several of these are callbacks rather than random celebrity drops. Robert Smigel reprises the IRS-character connection in a new setting, Dennis Dugan appears as a tournament official, and Rob Schneider returns in the kind of surreal fantasy-sequence role associated with Sandler’s comedy ensemble.
What professional golfers are in Happy Gilmore 2?
The professional-golfer appearances form the movie’s largest single cameo group. Some are connected to the Tour Championship dinner, while others inhabit the tournament world around Happy’s attempted comeback.
| Professional golfer | Reported context |
|---|---|
| Rory McIlroy | Tournament world |
| Scottie Scheffler | Tournament world |
| Brooks Koepka | Tournament world |
| Bryson DeChambeau | Tournament world |
| Justin Thomas | Tournament world |
| Will Zalatoris | Tournament world; a particularly strong callback for fans of the original caddie joke |
| Jack Nicklaus | Tour Championship dinner |
| Lee Trevino | Tour Championship dinner |
| Collin Morikawa | Professional-golfer appearance |
| Jordan Spieth | Professional-golfer appearance |
| Keegan Bradley | Professional-golfer appearance |
| Rickie Fowler | Professional-golfer appearance |

| Fred Couples | Tour Championship dinner |
| Xander Schauffele | Professional-golfer appearance |

| David Duval | Professional-golfer appearance |
| Colin Montgomerie | Professional-golfer appearance |
| Nelly Korda | Professional-golfer appearance |
| Nancy Lopez | Professional-golfer appearance |
| Annabel Angel | Professional-golfer appearance |
| Wyndham Clark | Professional-golfer appearance |

| Tony Finau | Tournament world |
| Retief Goosen | Professional-golfer appearance |
| Jim Furyk | Professional-golfer appearance |
| Charles Howell III | Professional-golfer appearance |
| Sir Nick Faldo | Tour Championship dinner |
The golf roster is not merely decorative. The dinner sequence brings together major figures from golf history, while the tournament scenes use active professionals to make the fictional competitive world feel larger. Will Zalatoris is an especially rewarding deep cut because the appearance plays against the original movie’s joke about an older version of Happy’s caddie.
Which athletes, broadcasters, and sports personalities appear?
Happy Gilmore 2 also fills its sports-media world with recognizable figures who are not professional golfers.
| Performer | Role or appearance |
|---|---|
| Reggie Bush | 8-Ball |
| Becky Lynch | Celebrity sports appearance |
| Dan Patrick | Fictional sports-show host |
| Nikki Garcia | Celebrity sports appearance |
| Boban Marjanović | Drago Larson |
| Chris Chelios | Sports personality appearance |
| Sean Avery | Sports personality appearance |
| Stephen A. Smith | Himself |
| Chris Berman | Sports broadcaster appearance |
| Jim Gray | Sports broadcaster appearance |
| Verne Lundquist | Sports broadcaster appearance |
| Kelsey Plum | Sports appearance at the municipal course |
| Chris Titone | Sports-world appearance |
| Andrew Watt | Municipal-course starter alongside Kelsey Plum |
Time’s reporting is particularly helpful for distinguishing these appearances from the professional-golfer group: Dan Patrick is part of a fictional sports-show setting, while Kelsey Plum and Andrew Watt are associated with the municipal-course sequence.

Which podcasters and internet personalities are in the movie?
The Maxi Golf publicity circuit expands the cameo strategy into podcasting and online media.
| Performer | Appearance |
|---|---|
| Alix Earle | Herself |
| Sean Evans | Himself, associated with Hot Ones |
| Bobby Lee | Podcast and media-world appearance |
| Andrew Santino | Podcast and media-world appearance |
| Treasure Wilson | Media-world appearance |
These guests appear in or around Frank Manatee’s publicity circuit for Maxi Golf. Their function is less about golf authenticity than about showing how the fictional venture is promoted through contemporary celebrity and podcast culture.
Is Eminem in Happy Gilmore 2?
Yes. Eminem, whose real name is Marshall Mathers, appears in Happy Gilmore 2 as the son of the late Joe Flaherty’s heckler character from the original movie. The role is a deliberate legacy callback rather than a standard musical cameo.
The other musicians in the roster are Cam’ron, Kid Cudi and Post Malone. Cam’ron appears as himself, Kid Cudi plays an FBI agent, and Post Malone appears in the Maxi League commentator/DJ orbit, according to the cameo reporting collected by Men’s Health.
| Musician | Role or context |
|---|---|
| Cam’ron | Himself |
| Kid Cudi / Scott Mescudi | FBI agent |
| Eminem / Marshall Mathers | Son of the original film’s heckler character |
| Post Malone | Maxi League commentator/DJ figure |
Which easily missed cameos did viewers overlook?
The easiest appearances to overlook are the short, character-based, or cameo-like ones that do not receive the same promotional attention as the golfers and headline celebrities.

Ken Jennings is included here because the broader cameo reporting identifies the appearance, while Cameron Boyce should be kept distinct from the other names because the appearance uses television footage. A list that treats every screen face identically will inevitably produce a different count from one that counts only newly filmed speaking roles.

What are the best callbacks to the original Happy Gilmore?
The sequel uses cameos as part of its continuity, not only as celebrity decoration. Netflix’s official Easter-egg guide confirms callbacks including the “It’s all in the hips” line, Subway branding, the original clubs, and memorial references.
| Callback | What makes it notable |
|---|---|
| Shooter McGavin | Christopher McDonald’s return restores Happy’s defining rivalry. |
| Hal L. | Ben Stiller’s return brings back one of the original movie’s most memorable supporting characters. |
| Will Zalatoris | The professional golfer connects to the grown-up version of the original caddie joke. |
| Robert Smigel | The IRS-character connection returns in a lawyer role. |
| Joe Flaherty connection | Eminem plays the son of the original heckler character. |
| Graveyard sequence | The scene pays tribute to people who helped establish the first film’s legacy. |
| Props and lines | The original clubs, Subway branding, and “It’s all in the hips” line function as recognizable Easter eggs. |
Director Kyle Newacheck described the graveyard sequence as “paying homage to everybody who helped the legacy of Happy Gilmore while at the same time using that as a backdrop for a pivotal scene in the second movie,” in Netflix Tudum’s Easter-egg coverage. The cameo-heavy approach therefore serves both nostalgia and the sequel’s story.
Why does Happy Gilmore 2 have so many celebrity appearances?
The guest roster reflects the movie’s overlapping worlds: professional golf, sports television, internet publicity, Sandler’s family, and collaborators from his earlier comedies. Director Kyle Newacheck told Netflix Tudum that “A lot of these guys, the golfers and people who are near and dear to Adam Sandler and the movie, they all wanted to come and say hi and play and be a part of it and contribute to the second one.”
That explains why the appearances vary so much in size. Bad Bunny’s Oscar, Haley Joel Osment’s Billy Jenkins, Benny Safdie’s Frank Manatee, and Lavell Crawford’s Slim Peterson have clearer narrative functions, while a professional golfer, broadcaster, musician, or podcaster may appear primarily to establish a scene’s setting or comic scale.

The Bottom Line
The most accurate answer to “all 72 cameos in Happy Gilmore 2” is a roster of roughly 70-plus appearances, not a studio-certified number. Netflix’s broad guide reaches 76 named entries under an inclusive method, while other lists add or omit brief, recurring, family, archival, and ensemble appearances.
