There is no confirmed Alcaraz–Sinner 2026 U.S. Open final yet. Both Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner are entered in the 2026 men’s singles tournament, but each must win several matches to reach the final. The draw, injuries, withdrawals, suspensions and results could all prevent the matchup.
If they do meet, the men’s final is scheduled for Sunday, September 13, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. Eastern Time at Arthur Ashe Stadium, subject to schedule changes. In the United States, ABC is the announced television outlet for the championship match. The clearest legal way to watch without a pay-TV subscription is over the air with a suitable antenna that receives your local ABC affiliate. A free ESPN internet stream should not be assumed.
What is actually confirmed?
The 2026 U.S. Open entry list includes both Alcaraz and Sinner. That confirms they are slated to compete in the tournament—not that they will play each other in the final.
The full 2026 U.S. Open is scheduled for August 23 through September 13, 2026. The men’s singles main draw begins on August 30, and the men’s championship is scheduled for:

How to watch the possible final free in the United States
Option 1: Receive ABC over the air
For viewers within range of a local ABC affiliate, an antenna is the most straightforward legal no-subscription option. ABC’s broadcast is transmitted over the air, so you do not need a cable, satellite or live-TV streaming subscription to receive it.
An indoor TV antenna for receiving local ABC can work for many homes, but reception depends on your distance from the transmitter, building materials, elevation, nearby obstructions and local signal conditions. Check whether your local ABC station is available before buying, and position the antenna near a window or on an exterior-facing wall if that produces better reception.
This is free broadcast television—not a free internet livestream. An antenna will not provide ESPN’s online feed, the ESPN App or matches carried only on ESPN networks; it is useful here because the men’s final is scheduled for ABC.
What if the antenna signal is weak?
First try rescanning for channels, moving the antenna, changing its orientation and reducing interference from nearby electronics. A TV antenna amplifier may help in some weak-signal installations, but it is not a universal solution. An amplifier cannot correct every problem caused by distance, obstructions, interference or an unsuitable antenna, and it can sometimes worsen an already-strong signal.
Option 2: Use a live-TV streaming service
A live-TV streaming provider may be an option if it carries both your local ABC affiliate and the ESPN channels required for the rest of the tournament. However, provider lineups, local-station availability, pricing, free-trial eligibility and cancellation rules vary by ZIP code and can change before September.

Do not choose a service solely because it carries “ABC” nationally. Enter your address or ZIP code and confirm that it carries your local ABC station. If you also want ESPN’s digital coverage, check that the package includes the necessary ESPN access.

Can you watch the U.S. Open on the ESPN App for free?
Usually, not without qualifying authentication. ESPN’s support information says that live ESPN networks, events and replays on ESPN.com, the ESPN App and related streaming experiences generally require users to sign in through an affiliated television or internet provider. Online access normally reflects the channels included in that provider’s package.

That means downloading the ESPN App does not by itself create a free live stream. If ESPN, ABC or the U.S. Open later announces a special free digital presentation, that would need to be confirmed separately. Until then, treat claims of a guaranteed free ESPN App stream cautiously.
Where the 2026 broadcast plan fits
ESPN is the exclusive domestic broadcast partner for the 2026 U.S. Open. The announced plan includes coverage across ESPN, ESPN2 and ABC, with more than 170 hours of television coverage. The ESPN App is expected to offer a digital grounds pass with more than 1,000 hours of coverage, subject to the access requirements and schedule published by ESPN.
The men’s championship is scheduled to air live on ABC for the third consecutive year. That is why an antenna can be a genuinely free legal viewing route for the final, while the broader online tournament coverage generally requires provider authentication.
Do not confuse the 2026 event with the 2025 final
Alcaraz and Sinner already played the completed 2025 U.S. Open men’s final. On September 7, 2025, Alcaraz defeated Sinner 6–2, 3–6, 6–1, 6–4.

The 2025 final is an on-demand match in ESPN’s U.S. Open catalog. It is not a live 2026 stream and should not be advertised as the upcoming final. The 2025 match was their third consecutive Grand Slam singles final against each other and their second U.S. Open meeting, according to the tournament’s official history. Alcaraz won his second U.S. Open title.
The rivalry remains a compelling reason to watch in 2026. In April 2026, Sinner defeated Alcaraz in the Monte Carlo final and reclaimed the ATP No. 1 ranking at that time. That result shows why interest in another major final is understandable, but it does not predict who will reach the U.S. Open final.
What viewers outside the United States need to know
The ABC-and-ESPN arrangement described here is U.S.-specific. Broadcast and streaming rights differ in Canada, the United Kingdom and Ireland, Spain, Italy, Latin America and other territories. International viewers should check the U.S. Open’s country-specific broadcast-partner information or their local sports listings rather than relying on U.S. instructions.

Unlicensed streaming sites are not a reliable legal alternative. They can disappear during the match, show deceptive download buttons or redirects, expose viewers to malware and tracking, and create privacy and payment risks. They may also rebroadcast copyrighted tournament footage without authorization. Use ABC over the air, an authenticated broadcaster or a properly verified local streaming provider instead.

Final-morning checklist
- Confirm whether Alcaraz and Sinner both reached the final.
- Check the official order of play for the start time and any schedule change.
- Confirm your local ABC affiliate and test the antenna or television connection.
- If streaming, verify local ABC carriage and ESPN access in your ZIP code.
- Review the provider’s current price, trial terms and cancellation deadline.
- Use only the broadcaster’s official app, website or television signal.
The headline, finalists, broadcast windows and provider details should be updated after the semifinals and again on September 13, because all of those details can change.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Alcaraz vs. Sinner 2026 U.S. Open final confirmed?
No. Both players are entered in the 2026 U.S. Open, but they must each win multiple matches to reach the final. The matchup remains possible, not confirmed.
When is the 2026 U.S. Open men’s final scheduled?
The final is scheduled for Sunday, September 13, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. Eastern Time at Arthur Ashe Stadium. The schedule is subject to change.
What is the best free legal way to watch in the U.S.?
If your local ABC affiliate is within reception range, an antenna can receive the ABC broadcast without a pay-TV subscription. Availability and picture quality depend on location and signal conditions.
Can I watch the final free on the ESPN App?
Do not assume so. ESPN generally requires authentication through an affiliated television or internet provider for live networks, events and replays. A special free stream would need to be announced and verified by ESPN or the U.S. Open.
Who won the 2025 Alcaraz-Sinner U.S. Open final?
Carlos Alcaraz defeated Jannik Sinner 6–2, 3–6, 6–1, 6–4 on September 7, 2025. That completed match is available through ESPN’s on-demand U.S. Open catalog and is separate from the possible 2026 final.

The Bottom Line
Bottom line: An Alcaraz–Sinner 2026 U.S. Open final is only a possibility. If it happens, it is scheduled for September 13 at 2:00 p.m. ET and is announced for ABC in the United States. A suitable antenna can provide the clearest legal no-subscription option for viewers who receive their local ABC station; online viewing will generally require an authenticated provider unless a new official free-stream offer is announced.
