21 Best FIFA Songs Ever, Ranked (EA SPORTS FIFA Soundtracks)

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

This ranking covers songs from EA SPORTS FIFA game soundtracks—not FIFA World Cup anthems. John Newman’s “Love Me Again” takes the top spot for its lasting association with FIFA 14, replay value and broad listening impact, while Blur’s “Song 2” remains the series’ most instantly recognizable burst of energy.

How the ranking works

Each track is judged on five factors: recognizability, association with a particular FIFA edition, how well it survives repeated menu and match listening, cultural longevity, and measurable listening or chart evidence. The list also balances fan memory with available data. GAME’s analysis covered 794 tracks from FIFA 98 through FIFA 20 using Spotify streams and UK Official Charts positions; EA’s 2022 Ultimate FIFA Soundtrack reflected fan nominations and Spotify listening across 25 years of games.

“Best” is therefore not identical to “most streamed.” A song can dominate personal FIFA memories without leading a later streaming snapshot, and a modern streaming giant may not yet have decades of nostalgia behind it.

The 21 best FIFA songs ever

Rank Song and artist FIFA edition Why it belongs here
1 “Love Me Again” — John Newman FIFA 14 The definitive modern FIFA anthem: immediate, euphoric and inseparable from FIFA 14. EA music supervisor Cybele Pettus calls it timeless, and GAME’s data-led index ranks it first overall.
2 “Song 2” — Blur FIFA 98 Those opening guitar blasts and the “woo-hoo” hook need almost no introduction. Pettus calls it FIFA’s most iconic track, and its short, explosive arrangement still works perfectly between matches.
3 “The Nights” — Avicii FIFA 15 A generational singalong that turned FIFA 15’s soundtrack into a communal memory. EA placed it second in its 2022 Spotify top five; GAME reported more than 615 million Spotify streams at its September 22, 2020 cutoff.
4 “Club Foot” — Kasabian FIFA 13 Its stalking bass line and clipped guitar gave FIFA 13 a harder, stadium-sized edge. It is one of the guitar-driven tracks Pettus identifies among FIFA’s biggest icons.
5 “On Top Of The World” — Imagine Dragons FIFA 13 Bright, communal and unusually resilient under menu-screen repetition. EA ranked it fourth in its 2022 Spotify top five, while GAME reported more than 480 million plays at its data cutoff.
6 “Mercy” — Duffy FIFA 09 Duffy’s soulful vocal and handclap-driven groove made this a standout discovery in FIFA 09. GAME ranks it second overall and notes its UK number-one chart peak.
7 “A Town Called Malice” — The Jam FIFA 2004 The inclusion introduced a 1983 UK number-one classic to a new gaming audience. Its urgent rhythm still feels tailor-made for scrolling through a squad or launching a match.
8 “Supermassive Black Hole” — Muse FIFA 07 FIFA 07’s most stadium-sized rock moment, with a glam pulse that sounds bigger each time it returns. GAME places it fourth in its overall index.
9 “Que Calor” — Major Lazer FIFA 20 A global dance-floor crossover that broadened the late-FIFA sound beyond indie rock. EA music supervisor Raphi Lima said EA brought the song to life for FIFA 20 and that it became an instant hit heard at major sporting events.
10 “you should see me in a crown” — Billie Eilish FIFA 19 Dark, distinctive and unmistakably tied to the late-FIFA era. EA placed it third in its 2022 Spotify top five, a strong result for a track with such a stark mood.
11 “Heat Waves” — Glass Animals FIFA 21 Its enormous streaming afterlife makes it the strongest recent contender. EA’s 2022 Spotify snapshot ranked it first, and Spotify described it as an instant classic after the FIFA 22 playlist appeared.
12 “Black & Gold” — Sam Sparro FIFA 09 A cult FIFA discovery whose sleek electronic-pop production is more strongly associated with the game for many listeners than with any radio playlist. FourFourTwo calls it the archetypal “only know it from FIFA” song.
13 “Sleep Alone” — Two Door Cinema Club FIFA 13 A concise, hook-heavy indie-pop track that captures the early-2010s FIFA identity without needing a huge chorus.
14 “Comeback Kid” — Kasabian FIFA 17 Its association with The Journey gives it a narrative role as well as a soundtrack one. FourFourTwo highlights that commissioned connection.
15 “Genius” — LSD FIFA 19 The theatrical production and title-sequence placement in The Journey make it one of FIFA 19’s most deliberate, cinematic choices.
16 “Walking on a Dream” — Empire of the Sun FIFA 09 Shimmering synths and a weightless chorus make it a defining FIFA 09 menu track and a natural part of the game’s nostalgia cluster.
17 “Young Folks” — Peter Bjorn and John FIFA 08 The whistled hook is instantly recognizable, while the relaxed rhythm embodies FIFA’s late-2000s indie-pop period.
18 “Kids” — MGMT FIFA 09 Its durable synth hook and crossover appeal reward repeat listening, helping explain why FIFA 09 remains one of the franchise’s most remembered music editions.
19 “That’s Not My Name” — The Ting Tings FIFA 09 Punchy percussion and a chant-ready chorus represent the series’ willingness to mix rock, pop and dance on one menu.
20 “My Number” — Foals FIFA 14 A propulsive indie-dance cut that adds rhythmic variety to a FIFA 14 lineup otherwise dominated by larger anthems.
21 “Youth” — Glass Animals FIFA 17 A subtler Glass Animals selection with a strong emotional afterglow. FourFourTwo includes it among the group’s standout FIFA cuts.

What the ranking says about FIFA music

FIFA 98–09: discovery before algorithmic playlists

The early and mid-2000s games established FIFA as a music-discovery platform. “Song 2,” “A Town Called Malice,” “Mercy,” “Black & Gold,” “Walking on a Dream,” “Young Folks,” “Kids” and “That’s Not My Name” span rock, soul, electronic pop and indie without sounding assembled from one genre brief. Their common feature is usability: memorable hooks that can repeat for hours without overwhelming the game.

FIFA 13–15: the anthem era

FIFA 13 through FIFA 15 produced the densest run of universally remembered songs on this list. “Club Foot,” “On Top Of The World,” “Sleep Alone,” “My Number,” “Love Me Again” and “The Nights” each announce themselves quickly, which matters when players hear them in short bursts between menus, team selection and kick-off.

FIFA 17–21: narrative context and global reach

Later soundtracks leaned further into cinematic placement, international dance and streaming-era scale. The Journey gave “Comeback Kid” and “Genius” unusually specific story associations; “Que Calor” carried a global club sound; and “Heat Waves” shows how a FIFA placement can become part of a song’s long commercial life.

Streams, charts and memory produce different winners

GAME’s index, built from Spotify and UK chart data for FIFA 98–20, puts “Love Me Again” first, followed by “Mercy,” “A Town Called Malice” and “Supermassive Black Hole.” EA’s later 2022 Spotify snapshot tells a different story: its top five were “Heat Waves,” “The Nights,” “you should see me in a crown,” “On Top Of The World” and “Ojitos Lindos.” The difference reflects both methodology and timing: chart history rewards established songs, while a newer streaming snapshot favors tracks still accumulating global plays.

EA’s Ultimate FIFA Soundtrack assembled 100 songs from 25 years after fan nominations and Spotify listening. EA reported more than 330 million user playlists containing at least one FIFA soundtrack song, with statistics pulled on November 7, 2022. Spotify also documented a playable FIFA back catalog of more than 1,000 songs. EA music supervisors said some artists saw streams jump by more than 500 percent in the weeks after FIFA placement.
