Several of the titles arrived earlier in the week, on November 4–6, but were included because they were the prominent new releases available to watch that weekend. The lineup spans Netflix, Hulu, Peacock, Disney+, Prime Video, Apple TV+, and HBO Max, with a mix of complete seasons, films, batch releases, and weekly series.
For documentary viewers, the clearest nonfiction pick is Alex vs. ARod, a three-part examination of Alex Rodriguez’s baseball career and public scandal. The rest of the list ranges from historical drama and science fiction to reality competition, family animation, superhero spectacle, and relationship-focused series.

Big franchise viewing
The Fantastic Four: First Steps — Disney+
Marvel’s First Family makes its MCU debut in The Fantastic Four: First Steps, a retro-futuristic story set against a 1960s-inspired visual world. Pedro Pascal plays Reed Richards, with Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm.
Disney+ made the film available on November 5, putting it on the weekend schedule before the official Friday-to-Sunday window. It is the straightforward choice for viewers looking for a large-scale franchise film rather than a series that requires several hours of commitment.
Frankenstein — Netflix
Guillermo del Toro’s adaptation of Mary Shelley’s story arrived on Netflix on November 7 after a limited theatrical release. Oscar Isaac plays Victor Frankenstein and Jacob Elordi plays the Creature. The supporting cast includes Mia Goth, Christoph Waltz, Charles Dance, and Ralph Ineson.
This is the weekend’s major gothic-literary option: a feature film with a familiar premise, a prominent cast, and del Toro’s interpretation of the creator-and-Creature relationship. Because it began streaming Friday, it is one of the few titles on the list that actually debuted within the November 7–9 window.

Pluribus — Apple TV+
Vince Gilligan’s science-fiction series stars Rhea Seehorn as Carol Sturka, one of the few people unaffected after an unexplained virus makes the rest of the world uniformly happy. Apple TV+ premiered the first two episodes on November 7, followed by weekly releases.
The premise gives the show an unusual starting question: if apparent happiness becomes universal, is that a cure, a form of control, or something more disturbing? Viewers who prefer serialized mysteries should note the release pattern. Only the opening pair was available on November 7; the rest of the story was not released all at once.
Death by Lightning — Netflix
Death by Lightning is a four-part historical limited series about President James A. Garfield’s rise to the presidency and assassination by Charles Guiteau. Michael Shannon and Matthew Macfadyen lead the cast.

Netflix released all four episodes on November 6, making it a practical weekend binge for viewers who want a contained historical story rather than an ongoing weekly commitment. Its subject is drawn from American political history, but the format is dramatized rather than a conventional documentary. If you are looking for a factual account, treat it as historical drama and consult a separate primary or scholarly source for the record.
Reality competition and documentary
Squid Game: The Challenge season 2 — Netflix
The reality competition returns with 456 contestants competing for a $4.56 million prize. Netflix released the first batch of season-two episodes on November 4, with additional batches arriving before the November 18 finale.
That schedule matters if you want to avoid an unfinished binge: the season was not complete during the November 7–9 weekend. It remains the choice here for viewers interested in competition strategy, large-cast reality television, and the spectacle of seeing the fictional premise of Squid Game translated into a real-world contest.
Alex vs. ARod — HBO Max
This three-part documentary series examines Alex Rodriguez’s baseball career, rise to prominence, and public scandal. The first installment debuted on November 6, so the series was part of the weekend’s new nonfiction offering.
Recommended Free Tools
For documentary-focused viewers, this is the most directly relevant title in the group. Its scope combines sports biography with questions about celebrity, ambition, reputation, and the consequences of public controversy. Since it is a three-part series rather than a single feature, check the service’s episode listing for the release status of the remaining installments when watching.
Relationship, mystery, comedy, and family viewing
All’s Fair — Hulu
Ryan Murphy’s legal drama follows a team of female divorce attorneys who leave a male-dominated firm and establish their own practice. Hulu released the first three episodes on November 4, then scheduled new episodes weekly on Tuesdays through the December 23 finale.
The initial drop makes it possible to sample the premise immediately, but this is not a complete-season release. It suits viewers who want a continuing legal and relationship drama and do not mind following a weekly schedule.

All Her Fault — Peacock
Sarah Snook stars as Marissa Irvine, a mother whose son disappears after a playdate, in this eight-episode mystery thriller. Peacock released the full season on November 6.
Unlike All’s Fair, All Her Fault was available as a complete season over the weekend. Some calendars listed the release as November 7 because of the overnight U.S. launch timing, but the underlying release window was November 6. The premise places the missing-child mystery inside a tightly focused domestic situation, making it a natural pick for a concentrated weekend thriller binge.
Tyler Perry’s Finding Joy — Prime Video
This holiday romantic drama follows Joy, a New York fashion designer whose disappointing trip to Colorado takes an unexpected turn when she becomes stranded during a snowstorm. The situation creates the possibility of an unexpected relationship.
Prime Video released the film on November 5. It is the least complicated choice for viewers who want a standalone seasonal movie rather than a multi-episode mystery, historical drama, or franchise story.
Maxton Hall — The World Between Us season 2 — Prime Video
The German-language teen romance continues the relationship between Ruby Bell, a scholarship student, and James Beaufort, her wealthy classmate. Season two premiered on November 7 with three episodes, followed by weekly episodes through November 28.

The Vince Staples Show season 2 — Netflix
Vince Staples returns for a second season of surreal comedy. The new episodes follow him through a strange personal odyssey after a family death, and the season premiered on Netflix on November 6.

The series is a better fit for viewers who want short-form, offbeat comedy than for anyone seeking a conventional drama or documentary narrative. Its unusual tone also makes it an alternative to the weekend’s more plot-driven mysteries and historical productions.
The Bad Guys: Breaking In — Netflix
This animated prequel explores how the animal criminals from The Bad Guys first became a team. It was among Netflix’s family releases on November 6.
The prequel setup makes the film especially suited to viewers who already know the characters, while its animated heist-comedy premise offers a lighter option for family viewing. As with any children’s title, parents and caregivers should check the current content rating and local availability before pressing play.

Release-date and availability note
This schedule reflects a U.S.-oriented release calendar for November 2025. Streaming catalogs, release times, subscription requirements, and episode availability can differ by country. The services named here also do not necessarily retain every title indefinitely. If this guide is republished for a later year, including 2026, every date and platform listing should be checked against a new release-calendar pass rather than carried forward from this historical weekend.
