In the United States, the answer is NFL Sunday Ticket on YouTube or YouTube TV. It carries eligible regular-season Sunday-afternoon CBS and FOX games that are outside the viewer’s current local broadcast market. It does not include local games or the NFL’s separate national and exclusive windows, so some viewers will need additional access for NBC, Peacock, ESPN, ABC, Prime Video, or other assigned services.
The right setup depends on whether you want one distant team, every Sunday-afternoon out-of-market game, local broadcasts, or the entire 2026 schedule.
For viewers in the United States, the main way to watch a regular-season Sunday-afternoon NFL game that is outside the local broadcast market in 2026 is NFL Sunday Ticket on YouTube or YouTube TV. It carries eligible Sunday-afternoon CBS and FOX games that are not being shown by the CBS or FOX affiliates in your current location.
Sunday Ticket is not an all-access NFL subscription. It does not replace your local CBS and FOX stations, and it does not include Sunday Night Football, Monday Night Football, Thursday Night Football, or every special, international, preseason, or postseason game. Many fans therefore need Sunday Ticket plus one or more separate services or local channels.

What “out of market” means
An NFL game is out of market when it is not being shown on the local CBS or FOX affiliate available in the broadcast area where you are watching. The relevant location is your current broadcast market—not necessarily your home address, your favorite team’s market, or the city where the team is based.
For example, a Broncos fan living in New York may not receive Denver’s Sunday-afternoon game on a local broadcast channel. If that game is an eligible CBS or FOX matchup, Sunday Ticket can provide it. If the game is shown on the viewer’s local CBS or FOX affiliate, Sunday Ticket generally does not provide a second feed of it.
This distinction matters most to fans who live away from their favorite team, attend college in another state, move during the season, or want to follow several teams whose games are rarely shown locally.
The primary U.S. solution: NFL Sunday Ticket
NFL Sunday Ticket on YouTube is the package designed for live, out-of-market Sunday-afternoon regular-season games. It is available through two main purchase routes:
Recommended Free Tools
- YouTube TV add-on: Sunday Ticket is attached to a YouTube TV subscription.
- YouTube Primetime Channel: Sunday Ticket is purchased separately through YouTube rather than as part of a full YouTube TV channel plan.
You do not automatically need a full YouTube TV plan just to buy Sunday Ticket. A YouTube TV subscription is more useful if you also need local CBS and FOX affiliates, NBC, ABC, ESPN, and other channels carried in your area. Sunday Ticket by itself should not be treated as a replacement for local-channel access.
Promotional offers, prices, eligibility rules, and purchase options can change during the 2026 season. Check the current YouTube or YouTube TV offer before subscribing rather than relying on an old listed price.

What Sunday Ticket includes
- Eligible regular-season Sunday-afternoon games carried by CBS and FOX that are outside your local broadcast area.
- Viewing through supported televisions, streaming devices, computers, web browsers, tablets, and phones, subject to the current YouTube or YouTube TV requirements.
- YouTube TV features such as multiview and recordings when you purchase through a qualifying YouTube TV plan.
“Eligible” is important. The package is organized around the Sunday-afternoon out-of-market window and the rights assigned to CBS and FOX. It is not a promise that every NFL game appearing on a Sunday—or every game played during the season—will be available inside Sunday Ticket.
What Sunday Ticket does not include
- Local Sunday-afternoon games: Games carried by your local CBS or FOX affiliate are generally outside the Sunday Ticket package for your location.
- Sunday Night Football: The 2026 schedule assigns this window to NBC and Peacock.
- Monday Night Football: These games are assigned to ESPN and ABC.
- Thursday Night Football: The regular Thursday-night package is on Prime Video, not YouTube TV or Sunday Ticket.
- Selected exclusive games: Some international, Saturday, holiday, NFL Network, Netflix, YouTube, Paramount+, FOX One, or other specially assigned games require the service or network listed for that particular matchup.
- A guaranteed full preseason or postseason slate: Sunday Ticket is the out-of-market Sunday-afternoon regular-season package. Preseason and postseason availability must be checked separately.
Do you need YouTube TV as well?
That depends on which games you want to watch.
| Your viewing need | Likely requirement |
|---|---|
| Out-of-market Sunday-afternoon CBS and FOX games | Sunday Ticket through YouTube or YouTube TV |
| Your local CBS and FOX games | Local antenna, cable, satellite, or a live-TV service carrying those affiliates |
| Local NBC, ABC, ESPN, and other national channels | A local broadcast setup or a live-TV service such as YouTube TV, subject to location and lineup |
| Thursday Night Football | Prime Video |
| Sunday Night Football | NBC or Peacock |
| Monday Night Football | ESPN or ABC |
A YouTube TV plan can simplify this setup because it may provide local CBS, FOX, NBC, and ABC affiliates along with other national channels, but the lineup is location-specific. Enter your ZIP code before buying and confirm that the relevant local stations are available in your area.
An antenna can also be useful for local CBS, FOX, NBC, or ABC broadcasts where those signals are receivable. It cannot provide out-of-market games and does not substitute for Sunday Ticket.
Where the major 2026 NFL game windows are shown
Use the specific matchup and its listed network as the final authority. Rights can vary for special games, and late-season scheduling changes can move some games between windows or services.
| Game window or situation | Typical 2026 destination | Does Sunday Ticket replace it? |
|---|---|---|
| Sunday-afternoon game outside your local market | NFL Sunday Ticket on YouTube or YouTube TV | Yes, when it is an eligible CBS or FOX out-of-market game |
| Sunday-afternoon game shown locally | Local CBS or FOX affiliate | No |
| Sunday Night Football | NBC or Peacock | No |
| Monday Night Football | ESPN or ABC | No |
| Thursday Night Football | Prime Video | No |
| Selected international, Saturday, holiday, or exclusive games | The network or streaming service assigned to that matchup, which may include Netflix, YouTube, NFL Network, Paramount+, FOX One, or another destination | Usually no; check the schedule |
The 2026 schedule should be refreshed before publication and again during the season. Flexible scheduling, special-event announcements, and late-season network changes can affect where a particular game is available.
How to choose the right setup
Choose Sunday Ticket if you want live games from a distant team
Sunday Ticket is the appropriate starting point if your main goal is to watch a team whose Sunday-afternoon games are usually unavailable on your local CBS or FOX stations. This is the common setup for an out-of-state fan, a transplant living far from a team’s home market, or a viewer who wants several Sunday-afternoon games at once.

Add local-channel access if you also want the games shown in your area
Sunday Ticket does not unlock your local broadcast stations. Add an antenna, cable or satellite package, or live-TV service that carries your local CBS and FOX affiliates if you want both local and out-of-market Sunday-afternoon games.
Add separate services for national windows
If you want a complete season rather than only Sunday-afternoon out-of-market games, plan around the national windows. Prime Video handles Thursday Night Football, NBC and Peacock handle Sunday Night Football, and ESPN and ABC handle Monday Night Football. Individual Saturday, holiday, international, and exclusive games may have their own destination.
Consider NFL+ for features Sunday Ticket does not provide
NFL+ is a complement to Sunday Ticket, not an alternative for live out-of-market Sunday-afternoon regular-season games. In the United States, NFL+ includes live local and primetime regular-season and postseason games on phones or tablets, live out-of-market preseason games, live game audio, NFL Network, and other NFL programming.
NFL+ Premium adds features such as NFL RedZone, NFL Pro, and full-game, condensed, and All-22 replays, subject to the current plan terms. It still does not supply live out-of-market Sunday-afternoon regular-season games; Sunday Ticket is the service intended for that need.
NFL+ may make sense for a viewer who wants RedZone, preseason coverage, mobile local or primetime games, audio, or replay tools but does not need every live Sunday-afternoon game. It does not make sense as a cheaper substitute if the goal is to watch a distant team live on Sunday afternoon.
How to subscribe and verify coverage
- Confirm that you are asking about a U.S. viewing location. Sunday Ticket rules described here apply to viewers in the United States. International rights use a different system.
- Identify the games you actually need. Separate Sunday-afternoon out-of-market games from local, Sunday-night, Monday-night, Thursday-night, preseason, postseason, and special-event games.
- Check the local market for your current location. Use your ZIP code or the service’s local-channel checker to see whether CBS and FOX affiliates are available.
- Choose the purchase route. Buy Sunday Ticket as a YouTube TV add-on if you also want the YouTube TV channel plan, or use the YouTube Primetime Channel route if you only want the package and do not need the full live-TV lineup.
- Check the 2026 matchup listing. Confirm the game’s date, start time, network, and service. Do not assume that a Sunday game belongs to Sunday Ticket.
- Verify device support before kickoff. Confirm that your television, streaming device, browser, computer, or mobile device supports the current YouTube or YouTube TV app.
- Set the correct playback area. If you move or travel, make sure the account’s current location and playback area are accurate. Local channel availability can change with location.
Watching while traveling or after moving
Travel can change which local CBS and FOX affiliates you receive. A game that is out of market at home may be locally available in the place you are visiting, while a local game from home may no longer be available as a local broadcast in your new location.

YouTube TV and related services use account and location information to determine availability. Follow the service’s normal playback-area verification process and keep your location information accurate. Do not rely on a VPN, false-location technique, or other method intended to evade regional restrictions. Those methods can violate service terms, fail unpredictably, and do not create broadcast rights that the subscription does not include.
Recordings also follow the package boundaries. YouTube TV guidance treats Sunday Ticket recordings as recordings of regular-season Sunday-afternoon games outside the viewer’s broadcast area. Local and national games are handled through the base YouTube TV service or the separate service carrying that game.

International viewers: do not use the U.S. Sunday Ticket answer
U.S. Sunday Ticket guidance should not be generalized to other countries. In supported international markets, the NFL identifies DAZN as the home of NFL Game Pass, with access that can include preseason, regular-season, and postseason games.
Availability, price, blackout treatment, and included features vary by country. If you are outside the United States, use the NFL’s international country selector and verify the current local offering before subscribing. The relevant search is NFL Game Pass on DAZN, not the U.S. YouTube Sunday Ticket package.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Buying Sunday Ticket expecting local games: Local CBS and FOX games are normally handled by local broadcast access.
- Buying NFL+ for live out-of-market Sunday afternoons: NFL+ does not provide that regular-season game package.
- Assuming every Sunday game is included: Sunday Ticket covers eligible out-of-market Sunday-afternoon CBS and FOX games, not every Sunday matchup.
- Ignoring the network listing: A game on NBC, Peacock, ESPN, ABC, Prime Video, Netflix, NFL Network, YouTube, Paramount+, FOX One, or another assigned outlet may require separate access.
- Trusting an old price: Promotional pricing and eligibility can change. Check the offer immediately before purchase.
- Assuming an antenna solves the out-of-market problem: An antenna receives local over-the-air broadcasts only.
- Using unauthorized streams or rebroadcasts: These can be illegal, unsafe, unstable, and removed without warning.
A practical 2026 viewing plan
For many U.S. fans, the most complete legal setup looks like this:
- Sunday Ticket: eligible out-of-market Sunday-afternoon CBS and FOX games.
- Local broadcast access: an antenna or live-TV provider for local CBS, FOX, NBC, and ABC stations.
- Thursday nights: Prime Video.
- Sunday nights: NBC or Peacock.
- Monday nights: ESPN or ABC.
- Optional NFL+ Premium: RedZone, preseason, mobile access, audio, and replay features.
- Special games: the specific network or streaming service listed for that matchup.
Not everyone needs every component. If you only want one distant team’s Sunday-afternoon games, Sunday Ticket may be the central purchase. If you mostly want local games, an antenna or live-TV service may be enough. If you want highlights, RedZone, preseason games, and replays rather than every live out-of-market game, NFL+ Premium may be the better complement.

Can physical streaming equipment solve the problem?
No device, HDMI cable, router, antenna, or computer accessory provides NFL broadcast rights. Equipment can make an authorized service easier to watch, but it cannot turn a local broadcast into an out-of-market feed or bypass a package restriction. The important purchase decision is the rights-bearing subscription or local broadcast source, not a particular piece of hardware.
Likewise, a cloud service designed to loop prerecorded, user-owned, or rights-cleared video is not an NFL viewing service and does not supply permission to rebroadcast live NFL games.
Final pre-kickoff checklist
- Is the game Sunday afternoon, and is it outside your current local market?
- Is CBS or FOX listed as the game’s rights holder?
- Is the game actually included in your Sunday Ticket package?
- Do you have local CBS and FOX access for games shown in your area?
- Do you have separate access for Thursday Night Football, Sunday Night Football, and Monday Night Football?
- Have you checked special Saturday, holiday, international, Netflix, YouTube, NFL Network, Paramount+, or FOX One assignments?
- Is your ZIP code and current playback area accurate?
- Does your preferred TV, browser, or streaming device support the service?
Network assignments, package terms, device support, local-channel availability, pricing, and international rights can change. Check the current NFL, YouTube, YouTube TV, NFL+, and country-specific provider information before subscribing.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a full YouTube TV subscription for Sunday Ticket?
No. Sunday Ticket is available as a YouTube TV add-on or through a YouTube Primetime Channel. YouTube TV can be worthwhile if you also need local CBS and FOX affiliates and other national channels, but Sunday Ticket alone is not local-channel access.
Does NFL+ include live out-of-market Sunday games?
No. NFL+ does not provide live out-of-market Sunday-afternoon regular-season games. It is useful for mobile local and primetime games, out-of-market preseason games, audio, NFL Network, and—through NFL+ Premium—RedZone and replays.
Can Sunday Ticket show my local CBS or FOX game?
No. Sunday Ticket generally does not include a Sunday-afternoon game already shown on your local CBS or FOX affiliate. You need an antenna, cable, satellite, or live-TV service that carries the local station.
Can I watch Sunday Ticket while traveling?
Your local affiliate availability can change when you travel or move. Keep the account’s current playback area accurate and use the service’s location-verification process. Do not use VPNs or false-location methods to evade regional restrictions.
What is the international alternative to U.S. Sunday Ticket?
Not necessarily. Outside the United States, NFL viewing rights are country-specific. In supported markets, NFL Game Pass is offered through DAZN, but the package, price, blackout rules, and features vary by country.
