Yes. AMC announced a third season on July 16, 2025, with Seth Hoffman joining as showrunner and production scheduled to begin in Boston that fall. AMC later confirmed the season would premiere Sunday, July 26, 2026, at 9 p.m. ET/PT on AMC and AMC+. As of October 8, 2026, the premiere date is past, and AMC’s series page lists all eight episodes. AMC’s June 10, 2026 premiere announcement gives the date and platforms; its July 16, 2025 renewal announcement confirms the season and Hoffman’s appointment.

What is season 3 about?
AMC’s premise has Maggie and Negan setting aside their differences to build Manhattan’s first thriving community since the apocalypse. When chaos threatens the effort, they must confront whether their old wounds will undermine the city’s future. The setup keeps their conflicted relationship at the center while widening the stakes to include the people and alliances on which the community depends. Who is in the season 3 cast?
Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Lauren Cohan return as Negan and Maggie. AMC also names Jimmi Simpson, Raúl Castillo, Aimee Garcia, Logan Kim, and Michael Emery among the season’s cast. At its July 24, 2026 San Diego Comic-Con panel, AMC announced that Emily Kinney would appear as Beth this season.
