LA28 has published the 2028 ceremony date and venue, but its announcement does not name the band as performers.
What happened at the Paris 2024 closing ceremony?
At the closing ceremony on August 11, 2024, Los Angeles took the Olympic handover spotlight as the next host city. LA28 announced the lineup the previous day: Red Hot Chili Peppers, Billie Eilish and Snoop Dogg were part of the handover celebration, while H.E.R. was set to sing the U.S. national anthem live in Paris. LA28’s announcement described the segment as a preview of Los Angeles ahead of the 2028 Games.
The official Olympic Games video listing identifies the Chili Peppers’ performance as part of the Paris 2024 closing ceremony. The announcement said the ceremony would be presented on NBC and Peacock in the United States; that historical broadcast plan does not confirm that a replay is currently available.
Are Red Hot Chili Peppers performing at the 2028 Olympics closing ceremony?
LA28’s published schedule places the 2028 Olympic closing ceremony on Sunday, July 30, 2028, at 9 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. PT at the LA Memorial Coliseum. In its October 30, 2025 schedule announcement, LA28 did not name Red Hot Chili Peppers—or any performers—for that ceremony. The Paris handover booking should not be treated as confirmation of a 2028 performance.
