Do not rely on guessed VLC menus, stream URLs or codec settings for a 24/7 broadcast. First secure rights to every recording, confirm your channel can go live, then use an encoder with a documented YouTube workflow—or use a cloud service designed to loop uploaded videos.
Can VLC stream devotional songs to YouTube Live 24/7?
VLC can play media, but YouTube’s published encoder instructions do not establish that a current VLC build can send a reliable live stream directly to YouTube, nor do they provide VLC-specific settings. The safe answer is therefore not a made-up VLC recipe: treat VLC compatibility as unverified and use YouTube’s documented encoder workflow with an encoder whose current instructions support it. YouTube’s general process is to create a stream in Studio, copy its server URL and stream key into the encoder, start sending the content, check the preview, and then go live. YouTube’s encoder setup guide explains that workflow.
If VLC is a requirement, check documentation for the exact VLC version and operating system you intend to use before building the broadcast around it. Do not enter a guessed ingest URL or assume that a setting intended for file conversion is also a supported live-stream output path.
Prepare the channel and clear music rights first
Confirm the channel is eligible to stream
YouTube says a channel must be verified and must not have had a live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days. Its getting-started guidance also says streamers must be at least 16. Get permission for every recording and asset
Religious or devotional subject matter does not itself grant permission to broadcast a recording. You are responsible for having the necessary rights for the live content, including applicable music rights from artists, labels, publishers and other rights participants. Rights can vary by recording and territory, so confirm that your permission covers the intended worldwide YouTube broadcast and the relevant uses. YouTube sets out this responsibility in its livestream terms and conditions.
YouTube scans live streams for matches to third-party content. A match can interrupt or terminate a broadcast; even if you have a licence, the rightsholder may need to allowlist your channel for the stream to proceed without a claim-related interruption. Read YouTube’s guidance on copyright issues with live streams and resolve any rights or allowlisting requirements before going live.

Set up a YouTube Live broadcast with a documented encoder
- Prepare the playlist. Assemble the recordings you have permission to stream and decide the order and repeat behavior in the encoder or playback system you choose. Keep a local copy of the source files if preserving a recording matters.
- Create the live stream in YouTube Studio. Follow YouTube’s encoder workflow to create or schedule the stream and open Live Control Room. Copy the server URL and stream key shown for that stream.
- Enter the stream details in the encoder. Use the exact server URL and key from Studio. Keep the key private: anyone who has it may be able to send a feed to your live stream. Use the encoder’s documented YouTube configuration rather than guessed VLC output settings.
- Start sending the feed, then inspect the preview. Wait for the incoming video and audio to appear in Live Control Room. Check that the correct playlist is playing, the audio is audible and balanced, and the image is stable before starting the public broadcast.
- Go live and monitor it. Confirm the watch page is accessible and keep an eye on audio/video quality and the encoder’s connection. For an unattended run, arrange a person or system to notice a failed feed and respond; the generic YouTube workflow does not itself guarantee automatic restart or recovery.
YouTube’s guide explains the Studio steps and encoder handoff: Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder. Exact menus and settings depend on the encoder and its version; they should come from that product’s current documentation.
Plan for a 24-hour schedule and the replay
A 24/7 broadcast is not the same thing as one dependable, permanently archived YouTube event. YouTube says streams under 12 hours can be automatically archived, recommends keeping a local backup, and warns that streams longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all. Its DVR guidance also cautions that rewind can be limited or unavailable for streams exceeding 12 hours. See YouTube’s archive guidance and DVR help.

- If viewers need a replay, do not promise that a single 24-hour event will produce a complete YouTube archive.
- Keep a local recording or another backup if a complete copy is important, and verify that it is actually being written and growing during the broadcast.
- Check the live preview, public watch page, audio/video quality and local recording during the test run—not only after the stream has been running unattended.
Copyright permission and monetization are separate questions
Having permission to broadcast a recording does not guarantee YouTube Partner Program eligibility or monetization. YouTube’s reused-content policy considers whether a channel adds meaningful original contribution; a continuous playlist of third-party recordings should not be assumed monetizable just because copyright permission is handled. Review the current channel monetization policies and Partner Program eligibility requirements separately.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I stream copyrighted bhajans or other devotional songs?
Only if you have the necessary rights for the recordings and the intended broadcast. YouTube can still interrupt a stream after a third-party match, and a rightsholder may need to allowlist a licensed channel.

Will YouTube save the full 24-hour stream?
Do not count on it. YouTube warns streams longer than 12 hours may not be captured, and DVR rewind may also be limited or unavailable.
Can I monetize a continuous devotional music stream?
Not automatically. Copyright permission and YouTube Partner Program eligibility are separate; reused-content rules may affect monetization.
