To broadcast your own cartoons continuously on YouTube Live, send YouTube a live feed from an encoder or a cloud streaming service. Uploading episodes to YouTube by itself does not create a continuous live broadcast. First confirm that your channel can livestream, then prepare a repeatable sequence of cartoons, connect it through YouTube’s encoder setup, and monitor the broadcast.
Before you start: check your channel’s live-stream eligibility
YouTube requires a verified channel with no live-streaming restrictions in the preceding 90 days. YouTube also sets a minimum age of 16 for live streaming. Check the current eligibility and setup guidance in YouTube Help: Get started with live streaming before planning a launch.
Choose how to keep the cartoon feed running
YouTube’s encoder workflow is designed to send a live program feed, including feeds created with software. You can run an encoder on a computer you keep powered and connected, or use a cloud service that plays uploaded videos. OBS is one software option; consult its official help portal for current streaming guidance. The exact playlist and repeat controls depend on the software or service you choose, so verify its current documentation rather than assuming a particular menu or setting.
A local computer gives you direct access to the encoder and source files, but it must remain on and connected for the broadcast to continue. Cloud hosting can run the feed without a home computer staying on; compare services by their playlist and storage controls, recovery behavior, monitoring options, and cost. YouTube’s encoder documentation establishes how to send a feed, but it does not establish vendor quality or pricing.

Prepare a cartoon playlist you have the rights to stream
Collect the episodes or shorts you intend to play, then arrange them into a repeatable sequence using your encoder or hosting service. Use cartoons and accompanying music, voices, and clips that you created or have permission to broadcast. Keep local copies of the videos and the playlist so you can restore them if a source file or configuration is lost.
YouTube requires live content to follow its Community Guidelines and Terms of Service. Its live scanning may identify third-party content and interrupt a stream. A license for music or clips may not be enough to prevent an interruption: the rights owner may need to add your channel to the Content ID allowlist. Connect the encoder to YouTube Live
- Open YouTube’s live setup. Use the channel’s current live control room and select the encoder-based streaming workflow. YouTube’s setup screens and labels can change, so follow the instructions shown for your channel.
- Copy the stream connection details. Use the stream URL and stream key shown in YouTube’s encoder setup. Treat the key as a password: do not share it or include it in a public recording or screenshot. If it is exposed, replace or reset it in YouTube’s live settings before continuing.
- Configure your encoder or service. Enter the connection details in the chosen software or cloud host, select the prepared cartoon sequence as its source, and enable its repeat or looping behavior if available. The exact controls differ by product; check that product’s current instructions.
- Use YouTube’s current connection guidance. YouTube documents RTMPS as a secure live-ingestion method. Follow the protocol and any encoder settings shown in YouTube’s current setup rather than relying on guessed resolution, frame-rate, or bitrate values.
- Start the feed and inspect the live dashboard. Confirm YouTube receives the encoder signal and that the broadcast is playing as intended. Check the dashboard periodically for interruptions or warnings, especially after changing a playlist, stream key, or encoder configuration.
Understand YouTube’s stream limits and long-broadcast uncertainty
YouTube Help lists a maximum of 10 active streams per channel and 3 active streams per stream key; both limits apply at once. These are concurrent-stream limits, not a stated maximum duration or a guarantee that one broadcast can run indefinitely. The sources cited here do not establish a maximum broadcast length or how long a very long stream’s archive will remain available. Keep your original cartoon files rather than relying on a YouTube archive as your only copy.

Troubleshoot common problems
- YouTube does not receive a signal: Check that the stream URL and key match the current YouTube encoder setup, that the key has not been reset, and that the encoder or host is connected and running.
- The broadcast starts but stops or stalls: Check the encoder or hosting service’s connection and status, then inspect YouTube’s live dashboard for warnings. Restart the feed if needed and verify that the playlist advances and repeats as intended.
- YouTube interrupts the stream over third-party material: Identify the flagged music, clip, or other content. Remove it or obtain the necessary rights; if licensed content is being detected, ask the rights owner about adding your channel to its Content ID allowlist.
- A long stream or its replay is unavailable: The cited YouTube guidance does not establish a duration or archive-retention promise for a 24/7 broadcast. Keep your source files and playlist independently and consult YouTube’s current live guidance for the channel and format you are using.
