Not on the evidence currently available. Wowza Video documents both 24×7 channels and a separate option for looping a prerecorded MP4, but those instructions do not establish that the loop can be sent to YouTube Live. More directly, a Wowza support response dated July 10, 2025 said prerecorded playlist delivery to external platforms such as YouTube was not then available. Confirm the current YouTube output capability with Wowza before building a channel around it.
What Wowza’s documented workflows do—and do not—confirm
“24/7” can mean repeating one recorded video or cycling through a playlist. Wowza Video documentation describes a 24×7 channel configured with an encoder or camera input, and a separate workflow that can loop one valid MP4 until it is manually stopped or reaches a scheduled end. The documented playback options for the 24×7 guide are Wowza JavaScript or iFrame embeds and a Wowza-hosted page; those options are not proof of delivery to YouTube Live.
In a Wowza Community response dated July 10, 2025, Senior Technical Support Engineer Jason Hilton wrote that playlist delivery to external platforms “doesn’t currently exist” in Wowza Video and had been added as a feature request. Treat this as a dated answer, not a guarantee about what the product supports today. The API’s general description of live streams and external stream targets likewise does not verify the specific combination of a looping stored video, continuous operation, and YouTube as the destination.
Before you configure anything, confirm the YouTube path
Ask Wowza to confirm, for your account and current product version, whether a stored MP4—or a multi-file playlist—can be sent as an external YouTube Live target continuously. Ask separately whether it can loop, whether it can be scheduled, and what happens if the connection drops. Do not treat a Wowza-hosted playback page or embed as a YouTube stream.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
- If Wowza confirms the exact output path, request the current setup instructions for that path and test an actual YouTube broadcast before relying on it.
- If it does not, the documented looping workflow may still be useful for playback through Wowza’s own viewing options, but it does not meet the YouTube destination requirement.
Set up the documented single-MP4 loop in Wowza Video
The following steps describe Wowza’s stored-video workflow. They configure a loop in Wowza Video; they do not establish that the result reaches YouTube Live.
- Check account eligibility. Wowza’s 24×7 guide says the account must have 24×7 streaming enabled and that the feature is not available in a trial account. Confirm access before planning a continuous channel.
- Prepare a valid MP4 recording. The stored-video workflow requires a valid MP4. The documented loop option applies to that video; it is not the same as creating a multi-file playlist.
- Create the stored-video stream. In Wowza Video, follow the “Stream a video as live” workflow and select the MP4. Enable Loop video if you want it to repeat.
- Choose how it should stop. The stream continues until you stop it manually or it ends according to a schedule. The schedule can be one-time or recurring; select the correct time zone. Wowza says additional schedules can be created after stream creation.
- Test the intended destination. Verify playback using the viewing format configured for the stream. Because the documented examples are Wowza viewing formats, separately confirm and test YouTube delivery if that is your goal. Do not assume a successful Wowza playback test proves a YouTube broadcast is working.
- Stop the stream when it is no longer needed. Wowza warns that charges accrue for live streams started in Wowza Video even when they are not actively streaming content. It says idle streams are automatically stopped after 20 minutes, but recommends stopping them yourself when finished. The guide does not state a price.
What about a playlist or Wowza Streaming Engine?
The July 10, 2025 support response described combining multiple videos into one MP4 as a limited workaround for the unavailable external-platform playlist workflow. It cautioned that file size and length could make the combined file unusable. This is not equivalent to a managed playlist, and the response does not establish that the workaround produces a YouTube stream.

The same response pointed to Wowza Streaming Engine and its StreamPublisher module for scheduled streams and playlists if Wowza Video is not required. The information available here does not establish that this option currently supports YouTube delivery for prerecorded sources, what hosting it requires, or what it costs. Verify those details with Wowza before choosing it.
