First verify YouTube Live eligibility, test upload stability on the actual connection you will use, then configure an encoder with the stream URL and private stream key from YouTube Studio. JioFiber’s advertised plan speed alone does not guarantee uninterrupted streaming.
Before you start: check eligibility, connection and plan terms
Confirm YouTube Live is enabled
YouTube requires a verified channel with no live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days. Enabling live streaming for the first time can take up to 24 hours, and YouTube’s current help page says streamers must be at least 16. Check your channel before configuring an encoder. Check the JioFiber service at your address
Review the plan and service terms for the installation address, rather than assuming that a speed advertised elsewhere applies to you. Jio’s Mumbai plan page lists examples at 30, 100, 150 and 300 Mbps and describes the listed plans as having symmetric upload and download speeds. Jio’s home-use postpaid FAQ describes unlimited high-speed data and reserves the right to discontinue service for misuse, fraudulent, unauthorized or commercial use. Measure upload capacity on the intended setup
Run an upload-speed test from the computer and network path you plan to use, at a time representative of streaming. Test over the intended Ethernet or Wi-Fi connection, and repeat at different times if capacity varies. Download speed does not establish upload capacity. Other people and devices sharing the connection can consume upload bandwidth, so pause large uploads and avoid saturating the network during the broadcast.
YouTube recommends keeping about 20% of available network bandwidth in reserve above the stream bitrate. Use the connection’s stable measured upload capacity—not just its best test result—to choose a bitrate. YouTube warns that a connectivity disruption can break a stream. YouTube’s streaming tips

Choose a resolution and bitrate your connection can sustain
YouTube’s H.264 recommendations include these bitrate figures. They are platform guidance, not a guarantee that a particular JioFiber connection will sustain the setting continuously. When upload speed fluctuates, choose a lower bitrate and resolution rather than running with no headroom. YouTube’s encoder settings and bitrate recommendations

These examples do not cover every codec, frame rate or resolution option in YouTube’s guidance. Follow the settings recommended for the codec and frame rate you actually configure, and make the encoder’s output match the capabilities of your source video.

Set up the YouTube stream and encoder
- Open YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room. Create or schedule a live stream using the encoder workflow. If this is your first stream, allow for YouTube’s activation time.
- Copy the server URL and stream key. Enter both in the encoder’s YouTube or custom-server settings. Treat the key like a password: do not publish it, share it, or include it in a recording. If it is exposed, reset it in YouTube Studio and update the encoder.
- Use RTMPS when available. YouTube recommends RTMPS for encrypted transmission to its servers. Confirm that the encoder is configured for the server URL and protocol YouTube provides.
- Set the encoder’s output. Choose a video codec and resolution, frame rate and bitrate appropriate to the source and the connection. Configure keyframes and other encoder fields according to YouTube’s current recommendations for that codec. Check the live preview and stream-health indicators after starting.
- Set up the continuous source and loop. For a 24/7 broadcast, the encoder must keep the video source playing and loop it as intended. The exact controls depend on the encoder software or hardware; consult its current documentation rather than assuming a universal loop setting.
- Run a full test before relying on the stream. Check video and audio in the preview, verify stream health, and watch for upload instability. If you have a backup encoder or failover setup, YouTube recommends testing it by stopping the primary encoder or unplugging its Ethernet cable. YouTube’s testing and failover guidance
Plan for outages, recovery and recordings
A 24/7 stream can still be interrupted
A fiber connection, router, power supply, streaming computer or encoder can fail. YouTube states, “A disruption on your connectivity could mean a broken stream.” Test the complete setup and monitor stream health. An optional UPS for the router and computer may help during a short power interruption; size it for the actual device load and desired runtime. It cannot prevent ISP outages, fiber damage or encoder faults.
Recovery after a dropped connection depends on the encoder and its configuration. Confirm whether your chosen encoder reconnects automatically and test the behavior; do not assume the broadcast will resume cleanly without intervention.

Do not rely on YouTube for a complete 24-hour archive
YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. That does not establish that one continuous 24/7 broadcast will produce a complete archive. If preserving the program matters, arrange a separate local recording and plan an appropriate event or session strategy rather than counting on a single stream’s archive. - You cannot start a live stream: Check channel verification, restrictions in the previous 90 days, age eligibility and whether first-time activation has completed.
- The stream is unstable or drops: Retest upload speed on the exact streaming path; reduce bitrate or resolution; pause competing uploads; check stream health, router and cabling.
- YouTube does not receive the encoder feed: Recheck the server URL, protocol and stream key in both YouTube Studio and the encoder. If the key may have been exposed, reset it and enter the replacement.
- The video does not loop: Check the encoder’s own source and looping controls. Continuous playback is encoder-specific, not a universal YouTube setting.
- The archive is incomplete or missing: A 24/7 broadcast exceeds YouTube’s stated under-12-hour automatic archive condition. Use a separate local recording and plan sessions accordingly.
- Power backup did not keep the stream live: A UPS only covers the devices connected to it for its available runtime; it does not address internet-service failure or damage to the fiber line.
