Disney+ downloads work only on supported mobile devices, eligible plans, and titles that Disney allows you to download. Before changing settings, check those three conditions. In the U.S., Disney’s Help Center currently lists iPhone, iPad, Apple Vision Pro, Android phones and tablets, Amazon Fire tablets, and Meta Quest as download-capable devices; computers, Windows 10/11 tablets, smart TVs, game consoles, and other TV-connected devices are not supported for downloads. Ad-supported plans also exclude downloads.
Then work through the symptom-specific fixes below. The labels and plan names can vary by region, language, device, and app version.
1. Confirm that your device supports downloads
Streaming support does not imply offline-download support. Disney’s current U.S. downloads guidance lists these supported devices:
- iPhone and iPad
- Apple Vision Pro
- Android phones and tablets
- Amazon Fire tablets
- Meta Quest
Downloads are not supported on computers, Windows 10 or Windows 11 tablets, smart TVs, game consoles, streaming sticks, or other TV-connected devices. If you are watching Disney+ in a laptop browser or on a television, a missing Download button is expected rather than a malfunction. See Disney’s current device rules at Disney+ downloads help.

2. Check whether your subscription includes downloads
Disney’s U.S. Help Center says downloads are available on Premium and certain Premium bundles, while ad-supported Disney+ plans do not allow downloads. The listed bundle names can change, so verify your current plan in your Disney+ account rather than relying on an old plan name.
Changing from an eligible plan to one without download support removes existing downloaded content. If downloads vanished immediately after a plan change, restore an eligible plan or contact Disney+ support; reinstalling the app will not restore content removed by account eligibility.
3. Determine whether the problem is one title or every title
Some movies and episodes are not licensed for download, or can be temporarily unavailable. Open a different, known-downloadable title:

- Only one movie or episode lacks the button or fails: the restriction is probably title-specific.
- No title has a Download button: check the device, subscription, and app version first.
- Every title shows the button but fails: continue with storage, connection, app, and device troubleshooting.
For a movie, open its details page and tap Download below Play. For a series, open the episode list and tap Download beside an episode. A device icon with a check mark means the download is complete.
4. Free storage and choose a lower download quality
- Open Disney+ and tap your profile icon.
- Select App Settings.
- Check the available device storage shown near the bottom.
- Open Video Quality or Download Quality, depending on the app version.
- Choose Standard, Medium, or High.
Standard uses the least storage and generally downloads fastest; High uses the most storage and is generally slowest. File size varies by title, duration, quality, device, and app implementation, so there is no reliable universal gigabyte estimate. Delete old Disney+ downloads and other unnecessary files before trying again.
5. Fix a download that will not start
- Use a stable connection. Prefer reliable Wi-Fi. A weak or interrupted connection can produce errors or leave a download waiting.
- Check Wi-Fi-only downloading. If the app is set to download only over Wi-Fi, mobile data will not start or resume the transfer.
- Force-close and reopen Disney+. Use your device’s normal app switcher or force-stop control, then launch Disney+ again.
- Restart the phone or tablet.
- Update Disney+. Install the latest version available for your device.
- Remove the incomplete item. Open Downloads, tap the check-mark device icon beside the movie or episode, and choose Remove Download. For multiple items, tap Edit, select them, and use the trash icon.
- Try another title. This separates a title restriction from an app-wide failure.

6. Fix downloads that pause, wait, or never finish
- Move closer to the Wi-Fi access point or switch to a stronger network.
- Confirm the device is not repeatedly switching between weak Wi-Fi and mobile data.
- Check free storage again; a transfer can stop when space runs out.
- Temporarily review battery-saver, background-data, or app-sleep restrictions if your device prevents Disney+ from continuing in the background. These controls are device-specific, not a universal Disney fix.
- Delete the partial download and start it again after the connection and storage checks.
A title that repeatedly fails while other titles work may be temporarily unavailable for download. Avoid resetting the whole app until you have tested another title.
7. Remove a failed download safely
- Open the Downloads section.
- For a movie or single event, tap the check-mark device icon beside the title.
- For episodic content, open the series and tap the check-mark icon beside the episode.
- Select Remove Download.
Do not log out as a routine repair. Disney says logging out removes all downloaded videos from that device.

Check these causes in order:
- You logged out: Disney removes all local downloads when you sign out.
- Your plan changed: moving to an ad-supported or otherwise ineligible plan removes downloaded content.
- The device was offline too long: Disney requires the device to connect to the internet at least once every 30 days.
- The download expired: offline access is generally available for up to 30 days, but a title can expire sooner if it leaves Disney+’s library.
- You changed devices: downloads are tied to the supported mobile device used to create them and cannot simply be transferred to another phone or tablet.
Reconnect to the internet, open Disney+, confirm the account and plan, and check the Downloads section. Reinstalling the app or signing out can remove remaining local copies and force a fresh download.

9. Watch Disney+ downloads offline
- Launch Disney+ on the same supported mobile device used for the download.
- Tap the Downloads icon.
- Tap a movie and press Play, or open a series and select an episode.
The download must be complete, your subscription must remain active and eligible, and the title must not have expired. Connect the device to the internet before travel and at least once every 30 days thereafter so Disney+ can refresh access.
10. Understand the device limit
Disney says downloads can be stored on up to 10 supported mobile devices, subject to available storage and title, account, and plan restrictions. This is a limit on supported devices, not a promise that every title can be downloaded without restriction.
11. Troubleshooting guide at a glance

12. When to contact Disney+ support
Contact Disney+ when multiple eligible titles fail after you have confirmed a supported device and plan, freed storage, restarted the device, updated the app, and removed and redownloaded a title. Support is also appropriate when downloads repeatedly disappear despite reconnecting within 30 days, or when the app displays a persistent account or subscription error. Avoid unofficial downloaders, DRM-bypass tools, VPN or DNS changes, and “cleaner” apps: they do not address Disney’s eligibility rules and can create additional security, privacy, or account problems.
