Check Samsung Apps first. As of August 18, 2026, The Chosen’s official platform list names Roku, Apple TV and Amazon Fire TV, but not Samsung Smart TV or Tizen. If the app is not listed on your television, open the official web player at watch.thechosen.tv, use Prime Video, cast from a phone or computer, or connect a supported streaming device.
The browser is the simplest no-cost fallback. Prime Video is convenient if you already have access, while Roku, Apple TV and Fire TV provide the most consistent dedicated-app experience.
First, check Samsung’s app store
Samsung TVs can normally install only applications offered in the television’s regional Apps store. Samsung’s instructions are documented at Samsung Support; menu names can differ by model and software version.
- Press Home on the remote.
- Select Apps.
- Select the Search icon.
- Enter The Chosen.
- If the official app appears, select it, choose Install, then Open.
- To create a shortcut, open Apps → Settings, highlight the app and select Add to Home.
The official platform list at thechosen.tv currently does not identify Samsung Tizen as a supported native platform. That is not proof that the app is unavailable in every country or on every model, so perform the search before choosing a workaround. Do not use Google Play instructions on a Samsung Tizen television; Google Play applies to a separate Android or Google TV device.

Method 1: Use the Samsung TV web browser
This is usually the best option when you want free viewing without buying another device. Most modern Samsung Smart TVs include a browser, although playback support varies with the model and software.
- Press Home.
- Open Internet or Web Browser.
- Enter https://watch.thechosen.tv/.
- Choose a season and episode, then select play.
The official Season 1 page, for example, includes episodes, Bible Roundtables and special episodes: watch.thechosen.tv/page/season-1. Use the remote’s playback controls.

Browser problems and fixes
- Restart the television and reopen the episode.
- Install any available TV software update and close other browser tabs.
- If the player, captions, full-screen mode or progress saving does not work, switch to Prime Video, casting or an external streaming device.
- Older browsers may be too slow or incompatible with the current video player; repeatedly installing unrelated apps will not correct that limitation.
Method 2: Watch with Prime Video
If Prime Video is installed on your Samsung TV, it can be a more reliable player than the built-in browser.
- Press Home and open Apps.
- Launch Prime Video.
- Search for The Chosen.
- Select the available season or episode and start playback.
The Chosen’s official site says its seasons are available on Amazon Prime, and an April 3, 2026 announcement confirms Seasons 1–5 are streaming there. Catalogs, subscriptions and release windows vary by country. Season 6 was announced for a Prime Video premiere on November 15, 2026, so it was not yet available on the August 18, 2026 information date. See the announcement at thechosen.tv.

Method 3: Cast or mirror from a phone, tablet or computer
Use the official app or web player on another device, then send the picture to the Samsung TV. Connect both devices to the same Wi-Fi network first.
Casting
Casting sends playback to the television or a compatible receiver and normally leaves playback controls on the source device. Start an episode, select the available Cast or AirPlay button, and choose the TV.

Screen mirroring
Mirroring duplicates the entire device screen. Depending on the equipment, the control may be called Smart View, Screen Mirroring or AirPlay. Start playback, choose the Samsung TV and keep the phone awake when required. Mirroring can show notifications, black bars or lower resolution.
Labels and compatibility depend on the phone, browser, app, TV generation and operating system. If the TV is not listed, disable a VPN, confirm both devices are on the same network, restart them and check for updates. If casting produces a black screen, try mirroring or use the TV browser or Prime Video instead.

Method 4: Add a supported streaming device
The official app is currently listed for Roku, Apple TV and Amazon Fire TV. To use one with a Samsung television:
- Connect the device to an HDMI port.
- Switch the Samsung TV to that HDMI input.
- Complete the device’s network and account setup.
- Open its app store and search for The Chosen.
- Install the official app and begin playback.
This is the strongest fallback for an older Samsung browser or anyone who wants a dedicated-app interface. It requires extra hardware and an available HDMI port.
Is The Chosen free?
The official support center states that Seasons 1–5 are free in the official app: support.thechosen.tv. The official website also provides free web viewing. Prime Video may require a subscription or other qualifying access, and its catalog differs by region. DVD and Blu-ray editions are available as an offline alternative; see the official support article. Physical playback requires a compatible disc player.
Why the app may be missing from Samsung Apps
- The app is not offered for that TV model or Tizen version.
- Your country or regional Samsung catalog does not carry it.
- The TV software is outdated, offline or not fully set up.
- The app was renamed, removed or temporarily delisted.
Confirm the internet connection, restart the TV, install updates and search again. Samsung notes that streaming apps require an internet connection; its guidance is available at Samsung Support. If the listing still does not appear, use the browser, Prime Video, casting or a supported external device. Unofficial Tizen packages, USB installs and developer-mode sideloading are not ordinary consumer solutions.
