As of August 18, 2026, Disney and Fubo are already combined. The transaction closed on October 29, 2025, but Fubo and Hulu + Live TV remain separate services that customers buy and use independently. Fubo Sports Network was added to Hulu + Live TV’s core lineup in February 2026. A separate Fubo sports-and-broadcast “skinny bundle” was proposed, but no confirmed public launch date, final channel list or price has been established.
What actually merged
The corporate transaction combined Fubo’s business with Disney’s Hulu + Live TV business under the combined Fubo company. Disney became the controlling shareholder. This was not a purchase of every Hulu product by Fubo, and it did not turn Hulu’s entire on-demand operation into a Fubo service.
For customers, the distinction is important: the businesses joined at the corporate level while the consumer products stayed distinct. Hulu + Live TV continues through the Hulu experience, and Fubo remains a separate, sports-focused live-TV service. Disney and Fubo said the offerings would remain separate and distinct. Disney’s closing announcement and Fubo’s closing announcement describe that structure.
Disney characterized the combined operation as the sixth-largest U.S. pay-TV company, with nearly 6 million subscribers at closing. That is a company-reported description, not an independent industry ranking.

Timeline: announcement, closing and the first visible integration
- January 6, 2025: Disney, Hulu and Fubo announced the planned business combination and related arrangements. The original announcement is available from Fubo investor relations.
- October 29, 2025: The transaction closed, according to Disney and SEC-filed company material.
- February 10, 2026: Fubo Sports Network was added to Hulu + Live TV’s core channel lineup. This was a programming integration, not an account, app or subscription consolidation. See Fubo’s announcement.
Are Hulu + Live TV and Fubo one service now?
No. Existing subscribers were not automatically moved into a single plan, according to Fubo’s customer support explanation. The same support material said there were no immediate changes to current plans or pricing at the time of the combination, although prices can change later.
In practical terms, the services can still involve separate apps, accounts, billing arrangements, channel lineups and DVR systems. Seeing Fubo programming on Hulu + Live TV does not mean that every Fubo channel or feature is included there.
What Hulu + Live TV customers get today
Hulu’s current U.S. product pages list the core Hulu + Live TV plan at $89.99 per month as observed in August 2026. The package combines live television with Hulu and Disney+ content and ESPN-related access. Check the price and terms at Hulu’s live-TV page before subscribing, because pricing and promotions can change.

- Say goodbye to batteries: Keep your remote powered for months on a single charge.
- Fubo Sports Network is included in the core Hulu + Live TV channel lineup following the February 2026 addition.
- Hulu says the service supports two simultaneous screens; an Unlimited Screens add-on is available.
- The Hulu on-demand library, live channels and live programming do not necessarily share the same advertising treatment. “No ads” for an on-demand tier should not be read as commercial-free live television.
- Local channels and regional sports availability depend on location and package.
Hulu’s pages identify ESPN Unlimited and ESPN Select as distinct products. A Hulu + Live TV subscription should not be assumed to include every feature, game or premium right associated with either direct-to-consumer ESPN tier. The ESPN bundle page and Hulu’s checkout details are the safer references for a specific sport or network.

Fubo remains the sports-first service, with its own packages, add-ons and regional availability. The official Fubo sports page is the current place to check purchasable plans; a reliable current nationwide price was not established in the available material.
Fubo’s May 2026 shareholder communication described a broader portfolio including Fubo Sports, Fubo Pro, Hulu + Live TV, Fubo Latino and Hulu + Live TV Español. It reported 5.7 million subscribers for the stated quarter; that is a corporate figure for the company’s reported measurement period, not a claim that every person uses every service. A separate February 2026 filing described an announced reseller and marketing arrangement with ESPN under which Fubo was working toward including Fubo Sports in ESPN’s commerce flow. The filing said definitive agreements were still being negotiated, so it should not be treated as proof of a completed distribution launch. Read the filing.
What is the proposed new sports bundle?
The original transaction plan described a Fubo Sports & Broadcasting service, sometimes called a sports-and-broadcast skinny bundle. The proposed concept included Disney networks such as ABC, ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, SEC Network and ACC Network, among others.

| Product | What it is | Status on August 18, 2026 |
|---|---|---|
| Hulu + Live TV | Broad live-TV package with Hulu, Disney+ and ESPN-related access | Available; core plan listed at $89.99/month on Hulu’s current pages |
| Fubo | Separate sports-first live-TV service | Available; price and lineup vary by plan and location |
| Fubo Sports Network on Hulu + Live TV | A network added to Hulu’s channel lineup | Available since February 10, 2026 |
| Proposed Fubo Sports & Broadcasting bundle | Planned narrower sports-and-broadcast package using Disney-related networks | Final launch date, price, lineup, apps, DVR rules and regional availability not stated in the cited sources |
Because no confirmed public launch announcement establishes those final details, the bundle should not be described as imminent or available for signup. It could also omit entertainment networks, local stations or leagues carried by a full live-TV package; its eventual value will depend on the published lineup and rights.
What happened to Venu Sports?
The transaction resolved Fubo’s litigation concerning the proposed Venu Sports service. That settlement does not establish that the original Venu product launched under another name or is returning. Coverage from The Associated Press describes the litigation outcome; it should not be read as a current Venu signup announcement.

Which service fits which viewer?
Choose Hulu + Live TV if entertainment is as important as sports
This is the most straightforward choice for a household that wants one broad subscription ecosystem containing live channels, Hulu and Disney+. It is not a guarantee of every Fubo channel, every ESPN feature or every regional sports network.

Choose Fubo if sports presentation and a sports-oriented lineup come first
Fubo is the relevant comparison when sports channels, sports features and regional availability matter more than bundled Hulu or Disney+ on-demand content. The corporate combination alone does not promise a lower bill.
Choose an ESPN direct subscription for a narrower ESPN need
ESPN Select and ESPN Unlimited are not interchangeable. Start with the exact games and networks required, then verify whether the chosen tier supplies them without a full live-TV replacement.
Compare YouTube TV or DIRECTV when breadth matters
YouTube TV may suit viewers seeking a general live-TV alternative, while DIRECTV streaming may suit households attracted to a larger traditional lineup and package-specific Disney or ESPN promotions. Both require checking current offers rather than relying on an undated headline price.
What to check before switching
- List the actual rights you need: Check ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN Select, ESPN Unlimited, FS1, FS2, SEC Network, ACC Network, TNT, CBS, NBC, FOX, local affiliates and any regional sports network.
- Enter your ZIP code: National channel lists do not establish local-station or regional-sports availability at your address.
- Calculate the recurring total: Include taxes, regional-sports fees, DVR, extra screens, premium sports packs and the price after any promotion expires.
- Compare DVR and streams: Storage, retention, recording restrictions and simultaneous-screen rules can differ even when channel lists look similar.
- Test device support: Confirm compatibility with your smart TV, Roku, Apple TV, Fire TV, game console, phone and browser.
- Keep accounts distinct in your planning: Disney bundles, Hulu + Live TV, Fubo and ESPN direct subscriptions may use separate billing and authentication systems.
- Read cancellation terms: Changing a plan can end a promotion, and introductory pricing may not recur.
Bottom line for cord-cutters
There is no merger left to wait for: Disney’s combination with Fubo’s business and Hulu + Live TV closed on October 29, 2025. The customer-facing services remain separate, with Fubo Sports Network now available on Hulu + Live TV. The proposed Fubo sports-and-broadcast bundle remains an announced concept without a confirmed public launch date, final price or final lineup in the cited sources. Choose a service based on the games, channels, local coverage and total recurring cost you can verify today—not on the promise of an unlaunched package.
