Peacock itself was not presented as a universally free service for Super Bowl LX. The game was played on February 8, 2026, and streamed on NBC and Peacock. Legitimate no-cost viewing depended on another access route—such as a local NBC broadcast received with an antenna, an existing TV-provider login, a qualifying household account, or a verified promotion. Downloading the Peacock app does not provide free access to live sports.
This guide is specific to Super Bowl LX. Rights, prices, trials, and promotions can change before a future Super Bowl, so check the official Peacock site and NFL listings for that event.
Choose the cheapest legitimate route
| Your situation | Best route | What to know |
|---|---|---|
| NBC is in your paid TV lineup | Authenticate in the NBC app, NBC Sports app, or NBCSports.com | Requires qualifying provider credentials; this is not a free Peacock account. |
| You receive a local NBC station | Use an antenna | No streaming subscription, but reception and station availability vary by location. |
| Your household already has Peacock | Sign in on a supported household device | Follow Peacock’s household rules and account limits. |
| You have a current partner offer or voucher | Redeem it before kickoff | Check eligibility, expiration, sports coverage, payment requirements, and auto-renewal. |
| None of the above | Peacock Premium for one month | The lowest listed Peacock plan that includes live sports; it is not free. |
Was Peacock free on Super Bowl Sunday?
No generally available free Peacock tier or confirmed universal free trial was established on the official pages checked August 18, 2026. Peacock’s NFL page listed paid plans: Premium at $10.99 per month or $109.99 per year, and Premium Plus at $16.99 per month or $169.99 per year. Prices are time-sensitive; verify them at Peacock’s current plans page before subscribing.
Peacock Premium includes live sports and events but includes advertising. Premium Plus reduces advertising and adds downloads, yet Peacock says ads remain in live sports and events and some other programming. An app download or account creation alone does not unlock the game.

Free ways to watch without a Peacock subscription
Local NBC over the air
If NBC carries the game in your market, a compatible antenna may receive the broadcast without a streaming bill. Results depend on your address, signal strength, antenna placement, building materials, and local affiliate. Check your NBC affiliate and test reception before game day; an antenna is not a guaranteed Peacock substitute.
NBC authentication through a TV provider
Peacock’s NFL FAQ says viewers who receive NBC through a qualifying television provider can use the NBC app, NBC Sports app, or NBCSports.com after signing in with that provider. You must already have eligible service; this route does not create a free Peacock subscription.
An existing household Peacock account
A household member may be able to watch on a supported device using the household’s account. Peacock describes its service as personal, non-commercial use and says accounts should not be shared outside the household. Do not exchange credentials with friends or unrelated households. See the household policy.

Verified promotions and partner benefits
Look for an unexpired Peacock voucher or an offer from an employer, school, wireless provider, internet provider, or bundle partner. Read the terms: some offers are limited to new subscribers, require a payment method, exclude live sports, expire before the game, or renew automatically. Never rely on an old “free trial” article or an unofficial coupon page.

What about the next Super Bowl?
Super Bowl LX’s NBC-and-Peacock arrangement does not prove where a future game will stream. Before relying on Peacock, confirm the event-specific rights announcement, current plan, any free trial’s duration and eligibility, renewal price, and whether live sports are included. The official Peacock Help Center is the appropriate place to recheck current terms.
