Eurovision 2025 is over. The semi-finals took place on May 13 and May 15, 2025, and the Grand Final was held on May 17, 2025, in Basel, Switzerland. The guide below records the official ways viewers abroad could watch that contest; live availability has ended, and replay access now depends on territory and rights windows.
For the original broadcasts, the best free option was the official Eurovision YouTube stream where available. National broadcasters provided local commentary, Peacock was the official U.S. service, and a VPN was not universally required or guaranteed to work.

Choose the official stream for your location
| Option | Cost signal | Commentary | Geographic reliability | Best for | Main limitation |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Official Eurovision YouTube | Free where available | Generally none | Broad, but geo-blocked in some territories | International viewers and non-participating countries | Playback may be blocked by country |
| National broadcaster | Varies | Usually local-language | Strongest inside its licensed territory | Local presenters, voting information and accessibility features | Domestic-only rights are common |
| Peacock | Subscription service | U.S. presentation | Best for viewers in the United States | U.S. viewers seeking the licensed stream | Not a worldwide service |
| VPN plus broadcaster service | VPN and broadcaster costs may apply | Depends on broadcaster | Inconsistent | People with legitimate existing access who understand the terms | May be blocked or prohibited by service terms |
Use this order: an official broadcaster in the country where you are located, the official Eurovision YouTube feed, Peacock in the United States, another officially listed service, and only then a carefully considered technical workaround.
#1 Best Overall
Free international viewing on YouTube
The official Eurovision Song Contest channel was the primary free option for viewers outside participating broadcast territories: youtube.com/@EurovisionSongContest. The international feed generally showed the contest without a national broadcaster’s commentary.
- Open the official channel and search for “Eurovision 2025 Semi-Final 1,” “Eurovision 2025 Semi-Final 2” or “Eurovision 2025 Grand Final.”
- During the original event, open the scheduled stream shortly before 21:00 CEST.
- For later viewing, look for an official full replay or individual-performance uploads.
- If playback is unavailable, check an official broadcaster rather than an unofficial restream.
A visible YouTube listing did not guarantee playback in every country. Eurovision’s FAQ warns that streams can be geo-blocked and that availability varies by territory and year: official FAQ. Replay rights can also differ from live rights.
National broadcasters and commentary
National services were the better choice for local commentary, presenter segments, voting explanations and broadcaster-specific accessibility options. The 2025 guidance listed services including BBC (United Kingdom), RTÉ (Ireland), SRG SSR (Switzerland), Rai (Italy), NPO (Netherlands), SVT (Sweden), ERT (Greece), RTVSLO (Slovenia) and SBS (Australia). The exact stream, language and features depended on the broadcaster and territory; not every broadcaster offered an internationally accessible online player.

- Identify the official broadcaster for your current or home country.
- Use its official website or app, not an embedded copy on an unofficial site.
- Check whether live viewing works abroad and whether registration, a TV licence, subscription or local IP address is required.
- Test the player before the scheduled start.
For BBC information, see BBC Eurovision and BBC iPlayer. A BBC service that is restricted to the UK should not be assumed to work overseas.
United States: Peacock
Peacock was the official U.S. streaming service for Eurovision 2025, as announced at Peacock’s Eurovision page and reported by The Associated Press. The straightforward legal route was:
- Open peacocktv.com.
- Search for Eurovision or open the live/event listings.
- Confirm that your plan and U.S. territory support the event.
- Open the live listing at show time, or check its replay page afterward.
Peacock’s 2025 event listing is historical. Current plan names, pricing and replay availability should not be inferred from that event.
Rank #3
- The disk has English audio.
Canada and other non-participating countries
For Canadian viewers and people in other non-participating territories, the official Eurovision YouTube channel was the first option to check. Availability was territory-dependent, and local broadcaster arrangements could vary. Eurovision’s viewing guidance for non-participating countries is at eurovision.com/vote-and-watch.
Do you need a VPN?
No. A VPN was not needed when the official YouTube stream worked, and U.S. viewers had Peacock. A VPN is a location-masking tool, not a broadcasting licence. A broadcaster may prohibit access from outside its territory, require a valid account or TV licence, or block known VPN addresses. Technical success therefore did not guarantee permitted access.

- Check the official YouTube feed or another listed broadcaster first.
- Review the broadcaster’s terms and any local requirements before using a VPN.
- Do not assume a free VPN will provide reliable live video, privacy or sufficient capacity.
- Never treat a changed IP address as proof that you have viewing rights.
If the official stream is blocked
A “video unavailable in your country” message is usually a rights restriction, not a fault with your phone or television. Follow this fallback sequence:
- Read the official Eurovision FAQ and viewing page for territory information.
- Try the official broadcaster for the country where you are watching.
- If you are in the United States, check Peacock.
- Try the broadcaster’s official app instead of an embedded web player, and temporarily disable an ad blocker or privacy extension if that broadcaster requires it.
- If live rights are unavailable, look for an official replay or performance clips.
Random social-media livestreams can be incomplete, removed or unauthorized and are not a dependable substitute.

Voting from abroad
Watching and voting were separate. Eurovision stated that viewers in non-participating countries had a voting window that opened before each semi-final and closed when the live show began. Eligibility, methods and charges depended on the viewer’s country or territory. Follow the official instructions at esc.vote; opening YouTube did not automatically provide voting access.

On-demand viewing after the contest
After May 17, 2025, availability could differ among:
- Full official Eurovision YouTube replays.
- National broadcaster catch-up services.
- Peacock replays in the United States.
- Official individual-performance clips.
- News or highlights packages.
Rights windows can expire or vary by country, so an archived listing may disappear even when another territory still has it. Accessibility features such as captions, subtitles, audio description and signed feeds were broadcaster-specific rather than universal across the YouTube feed.
Quick Recap
Practical advice for travelers
- Check access before departure and save the official Eurovision and broadcaster pages.
- Install an official broadcaster app only through its legitimate app store listing.
- Confirm whether your account works outside your home country.
- Use the local time conversion for May 13, May 15 or May 17, 2025.
- Do not assume a hotel television will carry Eurovision or that replay rights match live rights.
