You can watch The Celebrity Traitors live in the UK on BBC One or through BBC iPlayer. There is no separate iPlayer subscription, but you must be covered by a UK TV Licence to watch BBC iPlayer or live television. The BBC has not confirmed a start date for the reported autumn 2026 series in the sources available here, so check the BBC schedule for its date and time.
Quick answer: where to watch
- Live in the UK: BBC One, or BBC iPlayer’s live BBC One stream.
- After the broadcast: Check the programme page on BBC iPlayer for an on-demand episode.
- Cost: No separate iPlayer subscription, but a UK TV Licence is required.
- Outside the UK: iPlayer is UK-focused; check for an officially licensed service in your country.
When is The Celebrity Traitors on?
The first UK series premiered on BBC One and BBC iPlayer on Wednesday, 8 October 2025 at 9 p.m. BST, according to BBC Sport. Its final was available live on iPlayer at 9 p.m. GMT on Thursday, 6 November 2025, as BBC Sport reported. Those are historical series-one times, not a confirmed schedule for series two. Check the BBC schedule once it publishes the next series’ broadcast details.
When checking a UK listing, note the time zone: the UK uses BST during summer and GMT during winter. Because UK and US daylight-saving changes happen on different dates, a fixed US time conversion can be misleading.
How to watch live on BBC iPlayer
- Open the official BBC iPlayer website or the app on a supported device.
- Sign in with a BBC account, or create one if iPlayer asks. An account is separate from the TV Licence requirement and does not replace it.
- Search for The Celebrity Traitors.
- When the programme is being broadcast, choose the live BBC One stream or the programme’s live listing. The exact wording and placement of controls may change.
- Confirm the TV Licence declaration if prompted, then start the stream.
The first series was advertised for BBC One and iPlayer, but a live stream is not an early on-demand release: it follows the broadcast schedule.

How to watch an episode after it airs
After transmission, visit the programme page in BBC iPlayer and look for an available episode. Catch-up availability and the live listing are not necessarily identical, and viewing windows can vary. Check the current listing rather than assuming a particular number of days or a permanent box set. The TV Licence requirement also applies to on-demand programmes on iPlayer.
Is it really free?
It is free in the limited sense that BBC iPlayer does not require a separate streaming subscription. In the UK, however, you must be covered by a TV Licence to watch iPlayer, including on demand. TV Licensing confirms that the requirement applies across devices, including televisions, computers, phones, tablets, games consoles and digital boxes. A valid household licence means you do not need an additional licence just for iPlayer; there is no one-programme or one-episode exemption.

BBC iPlayer is intended for viewers in the UK. If you are a UK resident temporarily abroad, a UK TV Licence does not automatically grant worldwide streaming rights; overseas access may be restricted by location, rights or BBC access controls. Viewers who live elsewhere should check whether a local broadcaster or streaming service is licensed to show the programme. BBC iPlayer is not the normal official US destination.

What to do if the live stream is missing or not working
- Check the published schedule and transmission time; the live player may not appear before the programme starts.
- Make sure you are using the official BBC iPlayer site or app, then restart the app or browser.
- Update the app and device software. If playback still fails, try another supported browser or device.
- Check your broadband or mobile connection. Privacy, script-blocking or ad-blocking extensions can also interfere with playback.
- If the programme page will not load correctly, sign out and back in. Check BBC service-status channels if other BBC streams are affected too.
- If you are outside the UK, the issue may be location or rights restrictions rather than your connection.
- If the live broadcast has ended, return to the programme page and check whether an on-demand episode is available.
