AMC’s official January 2, 2026 post-event release confirms that its portion of the event had concluded. AMC reported that the finale had been shown in 231 U.S. theaters and that more than 753,000 fans attended participating AMC locations over the two-day event. Those AMC figures cover AMC’s locations only; they should not be combined with Netflix’s overall announcement of more than 500 participating theaters across the United States and Canada. AMC’s post-event report provides the chain-specific figures.

How did admission and reservations work?
Admission rules varied by theater and exhibitor, so there was no single ticket price or reservation method for the entire event. TheWrap reported that participating traditional theaters generally used concession vouchers instead of standard ticket revenue, while Netflix-owned theaters offered free screenings with RSVP-style seat reservations. TheWrap’s event coverage describes those differences.

AMC used its own admission structure. AMC said admission was free at its participating locations but required a $20 per-person food-and-beverage credit. The credit requirement applied to AMC’s portion of the event and should not be treated as a universal rule for every participating theater in the United States and Canada. AMC’s corporate release confirms the chain’s admission and concession-credit mechanics.

Was the theatrical event available outside the United States and Canada?
No. Netflix’s official announcement and global-events guide identified the finale’s theatrical fan screenings as a United States-and-Canada event. The available research does not verify an equivalent official theater run in other territories.
The geographic limit matters because an old theater listing or a social-media post may not represent an official screening in a reader’s country. The original Netflix location guidance was intended to show participating cities and theaters during the 2025 event; it should not be treated as a live 2026 ticketing page without fresh confirmation.
Where can you watch the finale if you missed the theater event?
If you missed the theatrical event, you can stream the finale on Netflix, the home-viewing platform identified by Netflix’s official event materials. Catalog availability, subscription terms, and regional access can change, so check the Netflix listing for your country before subscribing or attempting playback.
The researched materials do not establish a DVD or Blu-ray release for the finale. Generic Stranger Things merchandise coverage is not evidence that this specific episode has been released on physical media.
