No—Tubi currently does not offer official downloads for movies or TV episodes, and it does not support offline playback. Tubi requires an active internet connection when you watch. This applies whether you use the Tubi website, phone or tablet app, smart TV, Roku, Fire TV, game console, or another supported device.
You can download the Tubi app to a compatible device, but that is different from downloading Tubi video content. Installing the app does not create a movie file that you can watch later without an internet connection.
Can you download movies or shows from Tubi?
At present, Tubi does not provide a download button, offline mode, or supported way to save its movies and shows for later playback without an internet connection. There is no researched Tubi setting that enables downloads on iPhone, Android, Roku, Fire TV, a smart TV, or a computer.

That means you cannot officially:
- download a Tubi movie over Wi-Fi for a flight or road trip;
- save Tubi episodes to an iPhone or Android device;
- copy Tubi videos to a USB drive, SD card, or external hard drive;
- use Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV, or a smart TV as an offline Tubi player; or
- create an offline download queue inside your Tubi account.
Downloading the Tubi app is not downloading a Tubi movie
The Tubi app is available on many platforms, including Android, iOS, Roku, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, Xfinity X1, Xbox, Samsung Smart TVs, Sony Smart TVs, PlayStation, and the web. Platform availability can vary by country, device, and software version.
After installing the app, Tubi still streams the selected title over the internet. The app is software for accessing the service; it is not a storage container for offline movies or episodes.
How to watch Tubi online
- Open Tubi in a supported web browser or install the official Tubi app on a compatible device.
- Search for a movie or show using Tubi’s search function.
- Select the title and start playback while connected to the internet.
- If you want to find it again later, use Tubi’s account or watchlist features where they are available on your device and in your region.
Adding a title to a list or watchlist helps you find it again in Tubi’s catalog. It does not reserve a downloadable copy, guarantee that the title will remain available, or make the title playable offline.
Can you cast Tubi to a television?
Yes. Tubi documents casting through Chromecast and AirPlay, as well as account-linking options for compatible platforms such as Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Android TV, and Google TV. Casting lets you watch the online stream on a larger screen; it does not download the movie.

Chromecast or AirPlay
- Open Tubi on your phone or tablet.
- Make sure the mobile device and the receiving television or streaming device are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
- Start a title in Tubi and use the available Cast or AirPlay control.
- Choose the compatible TV or streaming device.
The phone or tablet and the TV still need an internet-connected playback path. A Chromecast or AirPlay connection is therefore not an answer for flights, areas without service, or other situations where you cannot get online.
What about watching Tubi without Wi-Fi?
Tubi requires an internet connection, but an internet connection does not necessarily mean Wi-Fi. Depending on your device, location, carrier, and plan, Tubi may stream over mobile data or another wired or wireless connection. Because Tubi does not provide offline playback, switching from Wi-Fi to mobile data does not create a download option.
If mobile data is the concern, reduce unnecessary background activity on the device and use Wi-Fi when available. Do not expect Tubi’s account lists, casting features, or app installation to conserve data by storing the video for later.
Should you use a third-party Tubi downloader?
Third-party websites, browser extensions, APK files, desktop downloaders, screen-recording instructions, capture hardware, and DRM-removal utilities should not be presented as official Tubi solutions. They may create security, privacy, copyright, or service-terms problems, and tools that request your Tubi username and password create an unnecessary account-security risk.

A USB drive, memory card, external hard drive, streaming stick, or capture card can have legitimate uses, but none of those products creates an official Tubi offline-download feature. Similarly, recording or copying a stream is a separate activity from downloading within Tubi and may be subject to applicable law, copyright restrictions, digital-rights controls, and the service’s terms. It is not a supported Tubi feature.
What to use when offline viewing is essential
If you need to watch during a flight, commute, trip, or unreliable internet connection, choose a service and a specific title that explicitly offers official offline playback. Another option is a lawful digital purchase or rental that grants downloads in its official app. Download availability can depend on the service, title, plan, device, and region, so verify those details before paying or traveling.
Do not assume that a movie available on Tubi is also downloadable elsewhere, or that every title on a service supports offline viewing. Check the title’s current playback and download options in the provider’s own app.
If Tubi is slow on a Windows computer
A slow browser or unstable Windows computer is a separate problem from Tubi’s lack of offline downloads. First try closing unused tabs and applications, restarting the browser, checking the internet connection, installing pending browser or Windows updates, and confirming that the computer has sufficient free storage.

Captions are available while streaming when provided for a title
Tubi documents closed-caption controls on its web, mobile, smart-TV, streaming-player, and game-console experiences when captions are available for the selected title. Caption settings can improve accessibility during online viewing, but they do not change Tubi’s download policy or make a title available offline.
Bottom line
Tubi currently supports online streaming, not official video downloads. Install the app or use Tubi on a supported device, search the catalog, and cast the stream if you want to watch on a television. If you must watch offline, use a separately verified service or a lawful purchase or rental that explicitly includes offline playback.

Can Roku download Tubi movies?
No. Roku can provide access to Tubi’s online stream, but it does not download Tubi movies for offline viewing.
