Are Disney channels and ESPN back on YouTube TV?
Yes. After the previous carriage agreement expired on October 30, 2025, Disney programming went dark on YouTube TV. Disney announced a multi-year agreement with YouTube on November 14 and said its full portfolio had begun to be restored. The portfolio included ESPN networks, ABC, Disney-branded channels, Freeform, FX, and National Geographic. Disney’s announcement confirms the agreement and the start of restoration.
The companies described the arrangement as a multi-year distribution agreement. Disney’s announcement also said select YouTube offerings may include a Disney+ and Hulu bundle. That on-demand bundle is not the same as access to live ESPN, ABC, or the full linear channel lineup; check current package details if you are choosing a service for a particular channel or game.
Did YouTube TV subscribers cancel over the dispute?
The available sources do not establish how many subscribers canceled. A threat of cancellations is not a measured churn figure. The Associated Press described YouTube TV as having more than 9 million subscribers in October 2025, a contemporaneous estimate rather than a current audited count. The AP’s October 31 report covered the blackout and its customer implications.

Before the blackout, YouTube said it would offer a one-time $20 credit if Disney content remained unavailable for an extended period. This was a conditional offer, not a recurring discount. YouTube announced it in its October 23, 2025 statement.
Did Disney viewership drop during the feud?
Disney reported the opposite for a narrowly defined measure: in an October 31, 2025 post, the company said viewership of its networks in YouTube TV households was up more than 15% year over year. That is Disney’s own claim about viewing in those households; it is not an independent measurement, a figure for Disney-wide viewing, or proof that total Disney viewing increased. Disney’s statement explains the company’s position during the dispute.

What did the dispute cost Disney?
Disney later reported that the temporary YouTube TV suspension reduced fiscal Q1 2026 Sports segment operating income by approximately $110 million. This is Disney’s estimate of a quarterly financial impact—not a measure of subscriber losses or a valuation of the entire dispute. The company disclosed it in its fiscal Q1 2026 earnings release.

- Price and package rules: Compare current monthly prices, required packages, and any regional restrictions directly with providers.
- On-demand viewing: If you mainly want Disney+ or Hulu shows and films, an on-demand option may suit you; it does not provide the same live-TV access.
