Check YouTube’s stream-health messages and encoder logs at the exact drop time before blaming the host. The “JioCloud VPS” name is not confirmed by the official JioCloud material located for this topic: the available pages describe JioAICloud storage, not a VPS. Confirm the provider and compute product in your account or invoice before applying provider-specific assumptions.
First, confirm which VPS you are using
Check the legal service name and exact virtual-machine product in your billing console, invoice, or VM control panel. Do not treat JioAICloud storage as evidence of a JioCloud VPS or infer any VPS bandwidth, firewall, timeout, traffic quota, or support policy from it. The official JioAICloud FAQ concerns cloud storage and does not document the VPS networking behavior needed to diagnose an RTMPS disconnect.
Once you have identified the actual host and plan, ask its support team about outbound connections to YouTube, long-lived TCP/TLS session limits, outbound port restrictions, egress or traffic limits, recent network or host incidents, and how to run a route or packet-loss diagnostic. These are questions to investigate—not established JioCloud VPS restrictions.
Check the YouTube destination and RTMPS connection
YouTube recommends RTMPS, the secure extension to RTMP. Compare the destination configured in your encoder with the RTMPS URL YouTube supplies for the stream. Check the scheme, ingestion hostname, application/path, stream key, and port; RTMPS connections should use port 443 and SSL/TLS. YouTube’s RTMPS ingestion guide notes that the connection must reach port 443 on the ingestion server.

- Use the complete RTMPS URL and path supplied by YouTube; do not substitute a hostname or port from a generic RTMP tutorial.
- Confirm the stream key belongs to the intended YouTube broadcast and was copied without extra spaces or truncation.
- If the encoder reports an SSL or timeout error, check that the hostname, port, and TLS settings match the YouTube endpoint. A cleartext RTMP connection is not a substitute when the configured destination requires RTMPS.
- Keep the stream key private. Redact it from screenshots, support tickets, and logs before sharing them.
See YouTube’s current encoder settings, bitrates, and resolutions for its recommended configuration; endpoint details and guidance can change.
Match the encoder to sustained VPS upload capacity
A speed test from your home connection says nothing about a VPS’s outbound capacity. Test from the VPS itself, ideally while the stream is running and over a meaningful interval. Compare the sustained upload rate—not only a brief peak—with the configured video and audio bitrates. Look for interruptions or packet loss as well as low throughput.

YouTube’s published H.264 examples include these recommended video bitrates. They are encoder guidance, not a guarantee that a particular VPS or network can sustain them; check YouTube’s current table and the codec you selected before relying on a value.

If capacity varies or sits too close to the combined audio and video bitrate, test at a lower resolution or bitrate first. Raise it only after a representative stream remains stable. YouTube advises testing with representative audio and motion before going live, since a static image or silent test may not expose the load of the actual programme.

Read stream health and encoder logs at the drop time
Write down the time of each disconnect, then inspect YouTube Live Control Room’s stream-health status and the encoder log for the same moment. A health warning about insufficient incoming video points toward an unstable or inadequate feed. Configuration warnings can point to bitrate, codec, frame-rate, or GOP/keyframe problems. Resolve those clues before concluding that a provider is terminating the connection.
- Use constant bitrate (CBR) where supported.
- Set the keyframe interval to two seconds; YouTube says not to exceed four seconds.
- Verify that the chosen codec, frame rate, resolution, and bitrate are supported by YouTube’s current recommendations.
- Check the encoder log for process restarts, resource errors, and connection or TLS messages around the failure.
YouTube’s API documentation describes health messages such as insufficient incoming video and configuration problems involving bitrate, codec, frame rate, and keyframe interval. The message narrows the investigation but does not, by itself, establish which component caused the fault.

Test the VPS and network layer without guessing at provider policy
If the endpoint and output settings are correct, check whether the VPS itself is struggling or its connection is unstable. Inspect CPU use and available headroom during encoding, the VM’s network interface for interruptions, and service logs for encoder or supervisor restarts. Check the provider’s incident notices and ask support whether its controls or current network conditions could affect a long-lived outbound TLS connection.
Change one factor at a time. Try a lower bitrate and compare the new stream’s health and disconnect timestamps with the previous run. If available, test the same encoder and content through another network or provider, or use a separate YouTube test stream, while changing only one factor. This helps distinguish a YouTube endpoint or encoder configuration problem from a host-specific route or network issue.

Do not assume SRT is a drop-in replacement for YouTube RTMPS. Google’s documentation about SRT packet recovery relates to its separate Live Stream API; it does not establish SRT ingest compatibility for this YouTube setup.
