Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteScheduling another YouTube Live event and starting another live broadcast are different actions. YouTube’s published limits—10 active streams per channel and 3 per stream key—apply when broadcasts are active; they do not establish a general cap on upcoming scheduled events. If Studio refuses to create an event, check the exact error and the step where it appears before changing stream keys or equipment.
First identify what YouTube is refusing
“Multiple scheduled streams” can describe three different problems: creating another upcoming event, connecting an encoder to an event, or starting a broadcast while another one is already live. The limits and troubleshooting differ. YouTube’s scheduling instructions document creating an event in Live Control Room; its active-stream limits concern starting additional broadcasts.
- Cannot create an upcoming event: look for the exact Studio error and check account eligibility or a daily stream creation limit.
- Cannot attach or connect an encoder: check whether the event uses the intended stream settings and key.
- Cannot start while another stream is live: count active broadcasts on the channel and active broadcasts using that key.
The cited official guidance does not document a universal maximum number of upcoming scheduled events. That does not prove every account can schedule unlimited events; an account-specific error needs account-specific details.
How to schedule another encoder event
- In YouTube Studio, open Live Control Room.
- Choose Manage, then Schedule stream.
- Choose Create new for a new event, or Reuse settings if the encoder configuration is the same as a previous stream.
- Complete the event setup and check whether the failure occurs while saving the event, connecting the encoder, or going live.
Scheduling creates an upcoming event page that can be shared, and viewers can opt into reminders. YouTube’s documented “Reuse settings” option copies metadata, settings, and the stream key from a previous stream. It does not mean every event must have its own unique key. See YouTube’s encoder scheduling instructions and live stream settings guidance.

- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
When active-stream limits matter
YouTube Help states: “There is a limit of 10 active streams allowed per channel and 3 active streams per stream key. These limits are applied at the same time.” When either limit is reached, additional streams cannot be started. These are simultaneous-broadcast limits, not evidence of a scheduling-event quota. The figures are YouTube’s current guidance accessed in 2026; consult its live-streaming overview for current details.
- Count broadcasts that are active on the channel, not merely events listed as upcoming.
- Count active broadcasts using the same stream key as well as the channel total; both thresholds apply.
- If the broadcasts are not meant to overlap, schedule the events separately and start only the one intended to be live.
Should events reuse one stream setting or use separate settings?
YouTube’s API distinguishes a liveBroadcast event from a liveStream, which contains transmission settings. In its recurring-event example, Google says that every scheduled event in that scenario uses the same streaming settings; the example has one live event at a time. The guide also describes creating one stream per broadcast as an alternative. This is a configuration choice, not a way around active-stream limits.

| Setup question | Reuse/shared settings | Separate settings |
|---|---|---|
| Do the events use the same encoder configuration? | Fits recurring events that use the same stream resource in Google’s API example. | Useful when broadcasts need distinct transmission configurations. |
| Are broadcasts live simultaneously? | The cited recurring-event example has one live event at a time. | May suit distinct feeds, but YouTube’s channel and key limits still apply. |
| Will changing settings fix an event-creation error? | Not necessarily; event scheduling and starting broadcasts are separate issues. | Not necessarily; first identify the error and whether a broadcast is active. |
Read Google’s YouTube Live Streaming API guide to broadcasts and streams for the resource model.
Check eligibility and the exact error
YouTube’s general live-streaming guidance says a channel needs to be verified and must not have live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. YouTube also documents a “Daily live stream limit achieved” error. These are checks to make when relevant error text appears, not a presumed explanation for every scheduling failure. Follow YouTube’s live-streaming error-message guidance and eligibility guidance.

Troubleshoot in this order
- Record the exact action that fails. Note whether you are saving a new upcoming event, attaching an encoder, or pressing Go Live.
- Copy the full error message. If it reports a daily live-stream limit, use YouTube’s account-limit guidance. If it says the channel cannot stream, check verification and live-stream restrictions.
- For an upcoming event, try the documented scheduling choices. Under Manage → Schedule stream, choose Create new for a separate event or Reuse settings for the same encoder configuration.
- For an overlapping broadcast, count active streams. Check both the channel total and the number using the same key against YouTube’s published limits.
- For genuinely distinct concurrent feeds, review the stream configuration. Separate stream settings may be appropriate, but they do not raise the active-broadcast limits.
- If the cause remains unclear, collect the details before contacting support. Include the error, failing action, whether events overlap, active broadcast count, and whether the same key is reused.
Buying a capture card, encoder, or other hardware is not an established fix for a scheduling or account-limit error. First determine whether the issue is event creation, encoder configuration, eligibility, or concurrency.
