If Disney+ rejects your sign-in, the password may not be the problem. The cause could be a changed MyDisney login, a missing verification code, a security lock, the app or device, a household or location check, or a subscription billed through another company. Start by testing the account on DisneyPlus.com; that quickly separates an account problem from a device problem.
Try these checks first
- Sign in at DisneyPlus.com using a private or incognito browser window. If it works there but not on one device, focus on that device or its app.
- If the website rejects your sign-in, request a one-time code. On the sign-in flow, enter the account email, select Continue, then choose Having trouble logging in? Send a one-time code.
- Check the exact message or error code. A household warning, for example, is not the same as a bad password.
- Test another device or network. If only one app or network fails, troubleshoot it before changing account details again.
- If you watch on a TV, reconnect with the activation code at DisneyPlus.com/begin.
- Do not buy another subscription yet. First confirm which email holds the existing subscription and whether a billing partner manages it.
Disney+ does not publish a live outage status in the troubleshooting guidance cited here, so a single error message is not proof that the service is down. If the site and several devices all fail, the cause could still be your account, network, or Disney’s authentication service.

What the results tell you
- Website and multiple devices fail: Check the MyDisney email and password, verification flow, account security, household message, and network. If those do not explain it, contact Disney+ support.
- Website works but one app fails: The credentials are likely valid. Restart and update the app/device, then clear app data or reinstall where the device allows it.
- Login succeeds but Disney+ asks you to subscribe: You may be signed into a different account from the one with the subscription, or the subscription may be managed by a third-party billing partner.
- Playback works on one device but another device is blocked: Check for a household or travel restriction, not just a password error.
Wrong password or Error 14
Disney identifies Error 14 as an incorrect password. Rather than making repeated guesses, reset the password through the official sign-in flow. Disney+ uses a MyDisney account, and changing the password for that identity on another participating Disney service can change the password you need for Disney+. See Disney’s account security guidance and its official error-code list.

No six-digit email code?
- Check spam, junk, promotions, and other filtered folders; search for “Disney” or “MyDisney.”
- Make sure the email address was entered correctly and is the one tied to the account.
- Wait briefly, then use Resend. Use the newest code before it expires.
- Try requesting the code from a desktop or phone browser rather than the TV app.
- If you cannot access the mailbox, or do not know which email is on the account, contact Disney+ support. Creating a new account can leave you with a separate subscription rather than restore the old one.
If you received notice that the account email changed and you did not make that change, use Disney’s official help site to contact support promptly.
Check that you are using the right email and account
The email you use every day may not be the one connected to the subscription. An old work or school address, an email used when subscribing through an app store, or an autofill entry can send you to the wrong account. Also check whether you changed your MyDisney email or password through another participating Disney service.
If you cannot identify the account email, Disney says to contact support. If the subscription was purchased through Apple, Google, Roku, Amazon, a cable provider, or another partner, check that provider’s account and subscription records too. The Disney+ sign-in identity and billing account are related but not always managed in the same place. Disney’s login guidance and subscription-management guidance explain when a billing partner may need to help.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsAccount locked or possibly compromised
Disney says suspicious login activity can lock a MyDisney account and automatically prompt a password reset. If the reset does not unlock it, support may need to intervene. Warning signs include an unrecognized email or password change, unfamiliar sign-in activity, or being repeatedly signed out.
- Go directly to Disney’s official site or help center rather than following a link in an unexpected message.
- Reset the password if you can access the account email.
- Use the option to log out of all devices if it is available to you.
- Contact Disney+ support if the email was changed without your permission, you cannot recover the account, or a reset does not clear the lock.
If you suspect someone else has access, secure the email account used for recovery as well. Never give a verification code or password to an unsolicited caller or message sender.
Disney+ works in a browser but not on a TV or app
When a browser sign-in succeeds, avoid resetting the password again unless you have a specific reason to believe it changed. Work through the device instead:
- Force-close Disney+ and reopen it; then restart the device.
- Install available Disney+ app and device operating-system updates.
- Clear the app cache or data if the device provides that option. Menu names and availability vary, so do not assume every TV, console, streaming player, or phone has the same control.
- If necessary, uninstall and reinstall Disney+. Reinstalling does not cancel a subscription, but signing into a different email afterward can make it appear to be missing.
- Try another network, such as a phone hotspot, to see whether a router, public Wi-Fi sign-in page, VPN, ad blocker, DNS filter, or corporate network is interfering.
- Check that the device’s date and time are set automatically. Incorrect device time can interfere with secure connections in general.
Disney’s troubleshooting guidance includes cache and data clearing, reinstalling, browser-cache clearing, power-cycling, and internet-connection checks. Exact controls depend on the device. Compatibility also varies by model, operating system, and region; consult Disney’s official site for current supported-device information rather than assuming every older TV or streaming box is supported.
Use the TV activation code
For many TV-connected devices, the sign-in flow is:
- Open Disney+ on the TV and select LOG IN.
- On a phone or computer, visit DisneyPlus.com/begin.
- Enter the eight-digit code shown on the TV and select Continue.
- Sign in with the MyDisney email and password, then select START STREAMING.
If the code fails, return to the app and generate a fresh one; an old code may have expired. Confirm that both devices are online and that you entered the code at the official address while signed into the intended account. If a fresh code still fails, restart or update the app and device, then try another network.

Household, travel, or location messages
Messages such as “Sharing Disney+ outside your Household,” “This TV doesn’t seem to be part of the Disney+ Household for this account,” or “Watching Disney+ outside your Household?” indicate an access or location check—not necessarily an incorrect password. Disney lists these messages in its login troubleshooting guidance.
They may appear after a move, while traveling, from a hotel or second residence, or when an internet provider or VPN makes your connection appear to be somewhere unexpected. A mobile connection can also use an IP address associated with a different location. Follow the verification options Disney shows for your account. Depending on the circumstances, the appropriate solution may be household verification, an eligible Extra Member option, or a separate subscription. Do not try to misrepresent your location or use a VPN to bypass household rules.

Error codes that can look like login failures
Disney’s codes often describe a broad class of problem, not a definitive root cause. Match the displayed code against Disney’s official error-code page and use the relevant next step:
| Code | What it points to | What to try |
|---|---|---|
| 14 | Incorrect password | Reset the MyDisney password instead of continuing to guess. |
| 93 | Suspicious activity detected | Secure the account and reset the password; contact support if access remains blocked. |
| 83 | General “something went wrong” error | Try another browser or device, restart and update the app, and compare results across networks. |
| 1026 | App or service problem for which Disney advises exiting and retrying | Close the app, restart the device, and update or reinstall if needed. |
| 73 | Content unavailable in the current location | Check travel, VPN use, IP-location issues, and regional availability. |
| 42 | Internet connection trouble | Test the connection, restart the device or router, and try another network. |
| 91/92 | Requests temporarily throttled | Stop repeated attempts and wait before trying again. |
| 142 | Connection trouble reaching the service | Treat it as a network or service-connection problem, not automatically as a bad password. |
Why Disney+ may ask you to subscribe again
A sign-up or payment screen does not always mean your subscription ended. First check whether you are signed into the exact Disney+ account used when subscribing. If you have more than one email address, try the account associated with the receipt or subscription confirmation. Then check the billing provider: Apple, Google, Roku, Amazon, cable providers, and other partners may control payment and plan management. Disney notes that plan options can vary by billing partner.
If you are being charged but the correct Disney+ account shows no subscription, gather the account email and billing receipt and contact the relevant provider or Disney support. Do not subscribe again until you have confirmed where the existing subscription is attached.

When to contact Disney+ support
Contact support if you cannot identify or access the account email, the login details changed without your permission, the account stays locked after a reset, you are charged but cannot find the subscription, a partner-billed subscription will not link, or you remain stuck in a verification loop after testing another device and network.
Use the official Disney+ contact page for chat and current regional options. The U.S. page lists 888-905-7888; confirm availability on the official page for your location before calling. Disney says you may need your name and account email, and local or international calling charges may apply. Avoid phone numbers or paid “account unlock” services found on unofficial troubleshooting sites.
