The View was off the air because of its planned April spring-break hiatus, not because ABC canceled the show. On Friday, April 3, 2026, ABC substituted an encore of the March 3 episode. TV Insider reported that the program takes a week off every April and projected a return on Monday, April 13. ABC’s current listings now show the regular weekday schedule again.
What aired instead of a new episode?
ABC’s April 3, 2026 schedule carried a repeat of the March 3 broadcast rather than a new episode. That encore featured Elisabeth Hasselbeck as guest host while Alyssa Farah Griffin was on maternity leave.

An encore in the normal daytime slot can make the program look as though it has been unexpectedly pulled, but it was the replacement broadcast for the scheduled spring-break week.
Is The View on spring break every year?
Yes. In an April 3, 2026 report, TV Insider described the pattern directly: “Every year in April, The View takes a week off for spring break.” The report said the precise 2026 dates had not yet been confirmed at publication, so April 13 was presented as the expected return date rather than a guaranteed listing at that moment.

When did new episodes return?
The expected 2026 return was Monday, April 13. ABC’s current schedule and episode guide now list weekday episodes and guest appearances, indicating that the spring-break pause has ended. The official guide describes the program as airing weekdays at 11e/10c/p.
How can you tell whether today’s broadcast is new?
- Check the episode date and guest listing: ABC’s official schedule identifies the episode and scheduled guests, while an encore will correspond to an earlier broadcast.
- Look for an “encore” or repeat designation: That indicates a replay rather than a newly recorded installment.
- Compare the broadcast date with the episode description: A March 3 description appearing on an April 3 slot confirms that the program is a rerun.
Where can you watch The View while it is off the broadcast schedule?
ABC identifies Hulu as the destination for full episodes of the weekday show. The Weekend View, the program’s separate weekend edition, is listed on both Hulu and Disney+.

Was the show canceled?
No. The April interruption was a recurring seasonal break, and ABC’s current weekday listings show the series continuing. A repeat on April 3 was therefore a scheduling choice for the hiatus, not evidence of cancellation.
