In a post dated December 6, 2025, he said tapping a microphone-related control after sending a text could beep and stop his music, and argued that the Send button should not share a spot with other functions.
What Bieber said about Messages
AppleInsider and The Mac Observer reported on December 7, 2025, that Bieber’s post described an irritating sequence in Messages: after sending a text, he said, tapping the dictation control could produce a beep and interrupt music. He added that turning off Dictation did not prevent him from accidentally hitting what he called the “voice note thing.”
The Mac Observer reproduced this portion of the post:
If I hit this dictation button after sending a text and it beeps and stops my music one more time,

AppleInsider quoted his final thought as: “The send button should not have multiple functions in the same spot.” The two outlets framed the choke-hold wording as a joke or hyperbole within his interface complaint; their reports describe no actual confrontation. The post’s wording is available here through secondary reporting, rather than an independently verified primary social-media page: The Mac Observer and AppleInsider.

Why the microphone and Send controls can be confusing
AppleInsider’s description says the microphone control appears in the text-entry area when it is empty; after text is entered, Send occupies that area; and the microphone control returns after a message is sent or the field is cleared. The report also says an audio-message control can remain there when Dictation is disabled.
That is a description in secondary coverage, not confirmation from Apple that every iPhone model or iOS version behaves identically. Apple’s iPhone User Guide documents how to switch off Dictation, but does not establish that doing so removes every microphone-related control from Messages.

How to turn off Dictation on iPhone
- Open Settings.
- Tap General, then Keyboard.
- Turn off Enable Dictation.
Apple notes that feature availability can vary by language and region. This setting disables Dictation; it is not a guarantee that every audio-message control disappears or that it will resolve the behavior Bieber described.

The reports connect Bieber’s complaint to Messages controls that can occupy the same general area and to music interruption he attributed to tapping a microphone-related control. They do not independently test that behavior across devices or software versions. The sources cited here also do not establish a later Apple response or a subsequent interface change.
