January 30, 2025, was the reported Netflix streaming date for new episodes of The Seven Deadly Sins: Four Knights of the Apocalypse Season 2. It was not the release of a new season of the original The Seven Deadly Sins anime. The date referred to the sequel’s international rollout after its Japanese broadcast, with availability and episode timing potentially varying by territory.
What happened on January 30?
A December 15, 2024 report identified January 30, 2025, as the date Netflix would begin rolling out new Four Knights of the Apocalypse episodes. The report used “new episodes” rather than confirming that every episode would arrive at once, so viewers should not assume a complete-season drop without checking their local Netflix listing.

Because that date has passed, current coverage should describe it as a past release date, not an upcoming event. Netflix’s catalog can also differ by country, including season labels, subtitles and dubbing.
The contemporaneous release report is the basis for the January 30 date.

It was the sequel’s second season—not “Season 6” of the original
The Seven Deadly Sins: Four Knights of the Apocalypse is a separate sequel anime based on Nakaba Suzuki’s manga sequel. It is not a reboot and is not a continuation branded simply as The Seven Deadly Sins Season 6.
| Series | Central focus | Relationship |
|---|---|---|
| The Seven Deadly Sins | Meliodas and the original Seven Sins | Earlier story in Britannia |
| Four Knights of the Apocalypse Season 1 | Percival and a new generation | Direct sequel |
| Four Knights of the Apocalypse Season 2 | The Four Knights’ expanding conflict | Continuation of the sequel anime |
What is Four Knights of the Apocalypse?
The story takes place 16 years after the events of The Seven Deadly Sins. Percival, rather than Meliodas, is the principal protagonist. He begins as an isolated boy and is drawn into a prophecy about four knights destined to bring about the destruction of the world.
The sequel expands the setting while retaining the original franchise’s mythology, political history and character connections. Familiar bloodlines remain important—for example, Lancelot’s connection to Ban gives longtime viewers a direct link to one of the original Sins.

Why original-series fans had a reason to care
A continuing world, not a disconnected spin-off
Britannia, its supernatural factions and the Arthurian conflict continue into the new series. The story introduces a new cast without discarding the consequences of the original anime.
Percival’s development
Season 1 established Percival’s transformation from an isolated child into an adventurer and member of the prophesied group. Season 2 offered the next stage of that growth rather than another Meliodas-led adventure.
Legacy characters and family ties
Connections to the Seven Sins and their families provide continuity for returning viewers. Those links are part of the story’s structure, not evidence that the original cast has been restored as the main ensemble.
Rank #3
The Camelot question
The sequel’s larger conflict continues to point toward Camelot and Arthur’s forces. That direction gives Season 2 significance beyond a routine new quest.
What Season 1 established
This is a spoiler-light refresher:
- Percival discovers that his life is tied to a much larger conflict.
- The prophecy of the Four Knights becomes the framework for the new group.
- The protagonists begin assembling while traveling through a world shaped by the original series.
- Camelot and its Arthurian threat remain central to the series’ long-term stakes.
Viewers who remember only the broad outline of the original anime can follow the premise, but they will miss some relationships and political context if they skip Season 1.

Promotional synopsis language described the season as following the aftermath of the battle with Mela-Galland. The Four Knights then seek a way into Camelot while facing further dangers on the journey. These points describe the announced setup, not a complete episode-by-episode plot summary.

What to watch first
- The Seven Deadly Sins: Watch the original anime for Britannia’s history, the Seven Sins and the foundations of the sequel’s mythology.
- Four Knights of the Apocalypse Season 1: This introduces Percival, the prophecy and the new group.
- Four Knights of the Apocalypse Season 2: Continue with the Camelot-focused storyline announced for the January 30 Netflix rollout.
Season 2 may be understandable at a basic level for newcomers, but watching both earlier entries makes the character relationships and continuity references much clearer.

Netflix details that require a local check
- Territory: The January 30 date was reported for Netflix’s international audience; it should not be treated as a confirmed worldwide release without a territory-specific listing.
- Episode rollout: The report said episodes would roll out, but did not establish whether all episodes were available immediately or released in stages.
- Language options: Subtitle and English-dub availability can differ by country and may change after launch.
- Catalog naming: Netflix may label the release “Season 2,” “Part 2” or another regional variant.
Check Netflix in your country for the current title page, language options and availability. No verified episode count or universal dub schedule is established by the cited reports.
The bottom line for fans
January 30 mattered because Netflix was bringing the second season of the franchise’s new-generation sequel to its international audience. The essential distinction is simple: this was Four Knights of the Apocalypse Season 2, set 16 years after the original story and led by Percival—not a new season of the original Seven Deadly Sins anime. For the fullest context, watch the original series and Season 1 before starting the sequel’s second season.
