Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteIf the gap happens at the same point every time your nature video loops, the first suspect is the loop boundary: the file may contain a brief silence, or the playback transition may introduce an audio or timestamp discontinuity. That is a troubleshooting hypothesis, not a confirmed diagnosis. Compare the source file, OBS output, and YouTube playback before changing settings or buying equipment.
First, identify when and where the gap happens
Note whether the gap occurs on every repeat, at the same point in the clip, or irregularly. A gap that repeats at the media boundary points first to the source or its handoff; irregular gaps call for broader encoder and stream diagnostics. Timing alone cannot establish the cause.
Compare four things: how consistently the gap repeats, whether it aligns with the clip’s endpoint, which playback stage first contains it, and whether YouTube reports a relevant health warning.
Check the source file and OBS loop setting
- Listen to the source locally through the boundary. Play the file through its ending and restart. Listen for silence, a click, or an abrupt change in ambience. If the gap is already present, repair the edit, choose a better-matched loop point, or use an intentional crossfade if it suits the sound. These are editing options, not a guaranteed fix.
- Verify the OBS source type and loop control. For a Media Source, check Loop, which controls whether the file plays again when it finishes. For a VLC Video source, check Loop Playlist, which controls whether playback restarts after the source runs out of media files. VLC Video supports playlists and requires VLC to be installed. See the OBS Project Media Sources guide.
If local playback is clean but the gap appears during streaming, continue down the chain rather than assuming the media itself is defective.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Compare OBS output with YouTube playback
Make a short local recording of the OBS output, or monitor it while the clip crosses the loop point. Compare that recording with the YouTube live playback at the same point. This helps locate where the gap first appears:
- Gap in the source and OBS output: focus on the file or loop transition.
- Clean source but gap in OBS output: inspect the OBS source configuration and audio routing.
- Clean OBS output but gap in YouTube playback: check encoder settings and YouTube stream-health messages. YouTube transcodes live streams into multiple viewer formats, so playback does not necessarily represent the encoder’s raw output.
Check YouTube stream health and audio settings
YouTube recommends testing with audio and motion similar to the real broadcast, then monitoring stream health and messages while live. Its general encoder guidance is useful for detecting configuration problems, but it does not promise to fix every loop-boundary defect. See YouTube’s live encoder settings, bitrates, and resolutions guidance.

For RTMP/RTMPS, YouTube lists AAC and MP3 as supported audio codecs. Its recommended settings include:
- Encoding: constant bitrate (CBR).
- Keyframes: every 2 seconds recommended; do not exceed 4 seconds.
- Sample rate: 44.1 kHz for stereo or 48 kHz for 5.1 audio.
- Audio bitrate: 128 Kbps for stereo or 384 Kbps for 5.1.
These are platform recommendations, not evidence that changing a setting will remove a gap that recurs exactly at a clip boundary. The YouTube Live Streaming API health diagnostics identify issues including unsupported audio codecs, sample-rate problems, too many audio channels, multiple audio streams, and mismatched audio settings between primary and backup streams. They also flag keyframe intervals over four seconds as a buffering concern. Check the actual warning before changing settings; the LiveStreams API documentation describes the health categories.

Troubleshooting by symptom
| What you observe | What to check next |
|---|---|
| The gap is audible in local playback at the same loop point. | Repair or replace the source edit, or choose a cleaner loop point. |
| The source is clean, but the OBS recording has a gap at each repeat. | Verify the correct OBS source type and loop setting; inspect OBS audio routing and source configuration. |
| The OBS recording is clean, but YouTube playback has a repeatable gap. | Review YouTube stream-health messages and verify encoder audio settings. |
| The gap occurs at changing times rather than at each loop. | Broaden the investigation to stream health, encoder configuration, and the streaming connection; the loop boundary is a less direct explanation. |
| YouTube reports a specific audio or keyframe warning. | Address the named configuration issue and test again; do not infer that the warning is necessarily the cause of a boundary-specific gap. |
A one-second gap by itself does not show that new hardware is needed. The useful first checks are the source, the loop handoff, and the stages of the streaming chain.

If your broader goal is to keep a pre-recorded YouTube channel live without leaving a home computer running, StreamNeo is a cloud option. Upload your recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. The cloud keeps the video playing when your computer is off; streams are sent as uploaded, up to 4K 60fps, at one flat price per slot, and StreamNeo automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. This does not diagnose or guarantee a fix for an audio gap already present in a file or loop boundary.
