Secondary biographical listings report that Carswell was born in Georgia, attended Wilkinson County High School and later attended Lincoln Tech. Those details have not been established through official education or employment records, so they should be treated as reported background rather than independently verified biography. The same listings commonly give his birth date as April 1, 2001. Because that date was not confirmed by a primary source reviewed for this article, the cautious description is that Carswell is reported to be 25 as of August 12, 2026.
There is no sufficiently reliable evidence in the reviewed material to state that Carswell has a confirmed current job, profession, net worth or business career.

How did Dralin Carswell and Honey Boo Boo meet?
Public reports place the beginning of Thompson and Carswell’s relationship in 2021. Thompson was described by coverage as 15 or 16 at the time, while Carswell was approximately 20. A social-media post in September 2021 helped bring Carswell into public view as Thompson’s boyfriend.
The relationship attracted criticism because Thompson was under 18 and Carswell was an adult. Reports generally described the age difference as about four years. That description is a factual account of the ages reported at the time; it should not be treated as a legal conclusion. The material reviewed for this article did not establish a final court finding concerning the early relationship, and unverified online allegations about additional conduct are not presented here as fact.
Members of Thompson’s family publicly expressed support for the couple, and Thompson continued to refer to Carswell as her partner after she became an adult.
Are Dralin Carswell and Honey Boo Boo engaged?
No verified engagement has been established in the reporting reviewed. In June 2024, Thompson told Us Weekly that a ring Carswell gave her was a promise ring, not an engagement ring.

That means reports describing the ring as proof of an engagement go beyond what Thompson herself said.
Where are Dralin Carswell and Alana Thompson now?
Entertainment coverage published in 2025 reported that Thompson and Carswell had moved to Colorado while she attended college. The same coverage said Thompson was studying nursing and did not plan to marry immediately. The precise school and her current enrollment status should not be stated as current without a newer direct source.
The best-supported status wording is: Carswell has been publicly identified as Thompson’s boyfriend since 2021, and reports through May 2026 continued to describe them as a couple. However, neither person’s current relationship status was independently confirmed in a newer direct statement reviewed for this update.
What happened in Dralin Carswell’s 2023 arrest?
On February 28, 2023, Carswell was arrested in Monroe County, Georgia, after a traffic stop reportedly became a police pursuit lasting roughly three miles. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported that officers attempted to stop a Dodge Charger after identifying outstanding warrants connected with the vehicle. According to that report, Carswell allegedly drove away and officers eventually used a precision immobilization technique, commonly called a PIT maneuver, to stop the car.

TMZ, citing law-enforcement information, reported that Thompson was in the vehicle. Police reportedly alleged that Carswell was impaired and that marijuana was found. The allegations reported at the time included driving under the influence, fleeing or attempting to elude police and outstanding warrants. Thompson was reportedly not arrested and was later picked up by a family member.
These details describe an arrest and police allegations—not a conviction. Some later entertainment reports referred to an indictment or additional charges, but the research reviewed for this article did not locate a reliable primary court record confirming the final charges, a plea, conviction, dismissal or sentence. It would therefore be inaccurate to state that Carswell was convicted or to describe the case as having a specific outcome.
What are the 2026 claims about Dralin Carswell and June Shannon?
In May 2026, tabloid-style coverage discussed comments made by June Shannon and her husband during a livestream. The reports interpreted those comments as suggesting that Thompson may have lived with Carswell at a younger age than previously understood.
That remains a family claim, not an independently established fact. No contemporaneous independent record reviewed for this article verified the allegation. It should not be presented as a confirmed account of Thompson’s living arrangements.
