In the United States, the eight Harry Potter films are currently listed on both Max and Peacock. Peacock’s official collection advertises extended versions; Max is a straightforward choice if you already subscribe or want its wider catalog. The three Fantastic Beasts films are also listed in the Wizarding World streaming guide, but check each title in the app before starting: streaming rights and available cuts can change.

The JustWatch viewing-order guide likewise places the Fantastic Beasts trilogy before Harry’s story chronologically. Chronological order is a reasonable rewatch choice if you want the fictional history first; it is not necessary to follow it to understand the films.
Theatrical or extended versions: what to check
Peacock’s official collection currently advertises extended versions, and its Goblet of Fire page labels an extended version. That does not establish that every film on every platform has an extended cut. “Extended” is a title-specific version label, not a promise that the entire franchise has one uniform alternate edition.

Before pressing play, check the title details, version label, and runtime in the app. If comparing services, compare the specific cut, not just the film name. A service may offer a theatrical version while another lists an extended one; plan tier alone does not necessarily change which cut is available.
Renting or buying without another subscription
U.S. digital stores such as Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, and Fandango at Home may offer individual titles to rent or buy. For example, JustWatch tracks current options for Goblet of Fire and the first film under its international title, Philosopher’s Stone. Check the store itself for current price, format, and version.

- Physical media—DVD, Blu-ray, or 4K UHD—does not depend on current streaming rights, but requires compatible hardware and space. Check whether a box set contains only the eight Harry Potter films or also the three Fantastic Beasts films.
Prices vary by retailer, title, resolution, and promotion; there is no reliable single price for the full set in this guide.
Which service makes sense for you?
- Already have Max? Search its catalog for each film you plan to watch before adding another subscription. The current official U.S. franchise guide lists the series there.
- Want the extended versions? Start with Peacock’s collection, then verify the extended label on each chosen film. The official listing establishes the offering, not a universal cut for every title.
- Want the simplest one-service marathon? Pick the service that currently shows every film in your intended set—eight or all 11—before you start. The Fantastic Beasts availability deserves a title-by-title check.
- Only want one or two films? Compare a rental with the cost of a month of a service that includes the titles. Do not assume a subscription is cheaper without checking current terms and prices.
- Want repeat viewing independent of catalog changes? Compare a complete physical collection or digital bundle, checking format, cuts, and included films.

Neither service is automatically the cheapest for every viewer. Existing household access, provider bundles, temporary promotions, a rental, or a disc collection can change the comparison. Before subscribing, check whether your TV, mobile, or internet provider already includes access and whether your subscription is billed directly or through a channel or app store. Intermediaries may control billing, cancellation, and supported features.
Can you watch for free?
The current evidence supports subscription streaming and paid rental or purchase; it does not establish that the films are legally free to stream. You may already have access through a household plan, an eligible provider bundle, or a promotion that is active when you check. A local library may lend DVDs or Blu-rays. Confirm the terms and availability where you live rather than relying on a “free” listing that may mean a trial, add-on, or different country’s catalog.

Here, “all the Wizarding World movies” means 11 narrative features: eight films adapting the Harry Potter story and three Fantastic Beasts prequels set earlier. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone is the U.S. title for the same first film called Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone in the UK and many other markets; searching either name can help locate it.
Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts is a reunion special, not a twelfth narrative feature film. It can be an optional bonus after the movies; its availability is separate and can change. See its current U.S. listing.
