In the United States, one subscription to either Max or Peacock currently covers all eight main Harry Potter films. Peacock’s official collection also promotes “Extended Versions Available Now,” although the cut and runtime must be checked on each individual title. This guide reflects U.S. listings checked in August 2026; streaming rights, prices and versions can change.
The simplest way to watch all eight films
Choose Max or Peacock and watch the films in release order. You do not need both services just to complete the eight-film story.
| Service | All eight films? | What the current evidence shows | Price or feature note | Best fit |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Max | Yes, according to current U.S. listings | Harry Potter titles can be found by searching the service or browsing its Harry Potter brand section. | Max’s U.S. help page listed Basic with Ads at $9.99/month, Standard at $16.99/month and Premium at $20.99/month when checked in August 2026. Premium includes 4K Ultra HD where available; Standard allows up to 30 downloads and Premium up to 100, subject to restrictions. | Anyone who already has Max or wants its wider catalog. |
| Peacock | Yes, on the official collection page | The dedicated collection lists all eight movies and advertises extended versions. | Verify Peacock’s current plan price, advertising and title-specific quality before subscribing; a reliable current price was not established here. | Viewers prioritizing the dedicated collection or the advertised extended-version presentation. |
No free legal U.S. streaming option was identified in the listings checked. That does not mean a free promotion can never appear.
The eight Harry Potter movies in release order
These are the eight narrative films generally meant by “all the Harry Potter movies.” Deathly Hallows is one book adapted as two separate films.

How to watch on Max
- Open Max or subscribe at max.com/product.
- Search “Harry Potter,” or open the Harry Potter/Warner Bros. brand area described in Max’s programming guide.
- Select the eight films individually and start with Sorcerer’s Stone.
- Before playback, inspect the title details for available resolution, subtitles, audio description and runtime. A Premium plan advertises 4K where available, but that does not guarantee 4K on every title, device or connection.
How to watch on Peacock
- Open Peacock’s Harry Potter collection.
- Confirm that the selected movie is one of the eight main films, rather than a related title or special.
- Look for the version label and runtime. Peacock promotes “Extended Versions Available Now,” but that wording is not proof that every film has a distinct extended cut.
- Review the current plan, advertising and playback details before checkout.
Streaming, renting and buying are different choices
Digital rental
U.S. listings identify Amazon Video, Apple TV Store and Fandango At Home, with Spectrum On Demand appearing for some titles. Sampled 4K rentals were commonly about $4.99–$5.99 per film in August 2026, but the amount depends on the title, retailer, format and promotion. A rental normally allows viewing only within the retailer’s stated window after playback begins; check subtitles, audio tracks, device support and the exact expiration terms.
Digital purchase
All eight films are listed for purchase from Amazon Video, Apple TV Store and Fandango At Home. Sampled 4K purchase prices were often about $14.99 per film when checked, not a permanent price. Compare each retailer’s complete-series bundle before buying eight individual titles, and check whether you already own a copy in a linked digital library.
DVD and Blu-ray
Physical collections remain useful for permanent access independent of changing streaming rights, collector packaging, bonus features and a consistent presentation. Current listings identify Amazon, Barnes & Noble, GRUV and Zavvi as sellers for various films. You will need a compatible disc player, and stock and prices vary.
Which option is cheapest for a marathon?
Use the current monthly price of the least expensive Max or Peacock plan, then compare it with eight individual rentals and any digital bundle shown at checkout. Eight rentals at the sampled $4.99–$5.99 range would total roughly $39.92–$47.92 before taxes, but those are snapshots rather than guaranteed prices. A one-month subscription is usually simpler for a single uninterrupted marathon; a purchase or disc set is better if you expect repeated viewing after the subscription ends.

Are the extended versions on Peacock?
Peacock’s official collection currently advertises “Extended Versions Available Now.” The page does not, by itself, establish that all eight films have separate official extended editions. Services can also present different runtimes, cuts or bonus material. If a particular version matters, open that movie’s details and verify the runtime and edition before starting. A Blu-ray collection is the safer route for collectors seeking a known cut and extras.
Do Fantastic Beasts movies count?
It depends on what you mean by “all Harry Potter movies.” The Harry Potter story is the eight-film list above. The wider Wizarding World film series adds:
- Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them
- Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald
- Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore
The official Wizarding World viewing guide discusses both groups, but availability can differ by service.
What is Return to Hogwarts?
Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts is a reunion special, not a ninth narrative film. It is listed separately by JustWatch at justwatch.com/us/movie/harry-potter-20th-anniversary-return-to-hogwarts. Include it only if you want cast interviews and retrospective material after the films.

- Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (152 mins) – The magical adventure begins as Harry arrives at Hogwarts.
- Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (161 mins) – Flying cars, deadly secrets, and an ominous warning await in Harry’s second year.
- Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (142 mins) – Dementors arrive and Harry uncovers a mysterious connection to a dangerous prisoner.
- Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (157 mins) – Deadly tournaments and the rise of Lord Voldemort put Harry to the ultimate test.
- Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (138 mins) – As few believe Voldemort’s return, Harry must secretly prepare his friends for war.
Can I watch through Prime Video?
Prime Video can mean two different transactions. The Amazon Video storefront may rent or sell an individual film. A Max subscription delivered through Prime Video Channels is a separate paid channel subscription. A standard Amazon Prime membership should not be treated as automatic access to Max or Peacock. JustWatch lists the HBO Max Amazon Channel and Amazon Video separately in its U.S. guide: guides.justwatch.com/us/harry-potter-movies-in-order.
Regional availability and changing rights
This is a U.S. guide. Streaming rights are territory-specific: the services shown here may not apply in Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia or elsewhere. Use your local JustWatch listing and the territory information in the official Wizarding World guide. Recheck the service immediately before subscribing because catalogs, prices, plans and versions can change.
Before you press play
- Confirm the country setting is United States.
- Choose the eight narrative films, not Fantastic Beasts or the reunion special, unless you want those too.
- Check the individual title for runtime, cut, subtitles, captions and audio description.
- Do not assume a “4K” label works on every device or plan.
- Use a kids profile or parental controls where available; the story becomes darker and more intense as it progresses.
- Verify your transaction before checkout so you do not buy a film you already have through another linked retailer.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I watch all eight Harry Potter films with one service?

Is Harry Potter included with Amazon Prime?
Not automatically. Amazon Video rentals and purchases are separate, and Max through Prime Video Channels is a separate paid subscription.

Are Fantastic Beasts included in the eight-film count?
No. They are three additional Wizarding World films, while Return to Hogwarts is a reunion special.
Can I download the films on Max?
Max’s U.S. plan information lists up to 30 downloads on Standard and up to 100 on Premium, subject to restrictions. Confirm the title and device before relying on offline playback.
The Bottom Line
For a U.S. marathon, subscribe to whichever of Max or Peacock better fits your existing services; choose Peacock if its advertised extended-version collection is your priority. Rent or buy digitally, or choose Blu-ray, when you want access that does not depend on a streaming catalog.
