Anna Delvey—whose real name is Anna Sorokin—is not in New York state prison. She was released on February 11, 2021, but her freedom has remained limited by a separate immigration case. The latest located report, published May 27, 2026, placed Sorokin in New York City wearing a GPS ankle monitor while the U.S. government continued to signal that deportation to Germany could be pursued.
That distinction matters: Sorokin completed the relevant part of her criminal sentence, but her immigration proceedings were not resolved when she left prison.
Where is Anna Delvey now?
The most recent verified reporting places Anna Sorokin in New York City. A May 27, 2026 report said she was still wearing an ankle monitor and quoted a Department of Homeland Security spokesperson indicating that the government expected to deport her. The report did not say that deportation had taken place.
So the accurate answer is that Sorokin remains in the United States, at least according to the latest located report, while her immigration case continues. Claims that she has already been deported to Germany should not be treated as confirmed.

There is also an important uncertainty about the precise restrictions on her daily life. In a March 2025 interview, Sorokin said she had been released from house arrest, moved out of publicist Kelly Cutrone’s upstate home and obtained her own apartment in New York City. She said she could leave, order an Uber and go places. Later reporting still described her as living in New York with an ankle monitor. That means her statement about leaving house arrest should not be expanded into a claim that every immigration restriction ended.
Why is Anna Sorokin facing deportation?
Sorokin was born in Russia and raised in Germany. She entered New York’s social and financial circles using the name Anna Delvey and presenting herself as a wealthy German heiress. Her criminal convictions, however, were not simply for “pretending to be rich.” A Manhattan jury convicted her in 2019 on multiple larceny and theft-of-services charges connected with obtaining money, services and access through her false identity and financial claims.
After completing part of her New York sentence, she was released from state prison on February 11, 2021, for good behavior. Her original sentence was four to 12 years. She was then taken into U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement custody on March 25, 2021, because of the separate question of whether she could remain in the country.
In October 2022, an immigration judge allowed her to leave ICE detention for home confinement while she challenged removal to Germany. The criminal case and the immigration case are separate:

What did Anna Delvey do after prison?
Art and exhibitions
Since leaving prison and ICE detention, Sorokin has pursued art projects. According to an official biography from The Untitled Space, she began releasing sketches while detained and later worked with acrylic paintings and other media.
Her House (Arrest) Collection consists of four paintings made while she was under home confinement in Manhattan in 2022. The series debuted during Miami Art Week with Locker Room Gallery and was later exhibited internationally. The work became part of the carefully managed public identity she built after the criminal case: not a return to the old heiress persona, but a media-facing career based on art, fashion and celebrity.
In March 2025, Sorokin said she was working with Kelly Cutrone on an art show. She also discussed the possibility of creating a fashion brand. Those were plans she described in an interview, not confirmed evidence that a completed fashion business had launched.
Dancing With the Stars
Sorokin appeared on ABC’s Dancing With the Stars in September 2024, competing with professional dancer Ezra Sosa. She performed while wearing an ankle monitor, making the device part of the unusual legal and logistical story surrounding her appearance.

She was eliminated during the show’s second week, on September 24, 2024. Her participation required accommodations related to her immigration restrictions. The Associated Press reported that she was under house arrest during the program, although the precise changes made to those conditions for filming in Los Angeles were not publicly disclosed.
How much prison time did Anna Delvey serve?
On May 9, 2019, Sorokin was sentenced to four to 12 years in prison. She was also fined $24,000 and ordered to pay approximately $199,000 in restitution.
She did not serve the full maximum term. New York state prison records and contemporaneous reporting placed her release on February 11, 2021, after an early release for good behavior. Her later detention by ICE was not a continuation of the state prison sentence. It came from the federal immigration process.
This is why the shorthand “Anna Delvey is still in prison” is inaccurate. She left state prison years ago. The more precise description is that she served a criminal sentence, was subsequently held by immigration authorities, and later lived under immigration-related restrictions while fighting removal.

Has Anna Delvey been deported to Germany?

Her German background is central to the immigration dispute, but it does not establish that removal has already occurred. Until a current court filing, ICE or DHS statement, or reliable on-the-record report confirms a transfer, the responsible wording is that deportation remains possible rather than completed.
