Dragon Ball DAIMA begins in a peaceful period after the conflict with Majin Buu, according to the official series descriptions. A conspiracy then turns Goku and his companions small and draws them toward the Demon Realm. The official sources establish that broad placement, but do not give an exact in-story year or specify how much time passes between DAIMA and other events.
Where does Dragon Ball DAIMA fit in the timeline?
The official synopsis opens with Goku and company living peacefully before a conspiracy changes their lives. Toei Animation’s Dragon Ball Super synopsis also describes peace following the defeat of Majin Buu. Together, those descriptions place DAIMA in a post-Buu peace period, rather than identifying a precise point by calendar year. The official DAIMA series page and Toei Animation’s series catalog do not state an exact in-universe date or a specific interval from surrounding events.
What happens at the start of DAIMA?
A conspiracy suddenly turns Goku and the others small. The official synopsis says the reason may be connected to the Demon Realm and introduces Glorio, a mysterious young Majin. This is the story’s inciting event; it is not itself a timeline marker that establishes a number of months or years after another installment. The official page credits Akira Toriyama for the original work, story, and character design.
Is DAIMA’s 2024 entry its in-story date?
No. The Dragon Ball official site’s “Series Chronology” records the release and broadcast history of franchise installments. Its 2024 DAIMA entry refers to the series’ broadcast, not the year in which its fictional events occur. Toei likewise lists DAIMA as a 2024 series with 20 episodes; those are production and release details, not evidence of an in-universe date.

How does DAIMA relate to Dragon Ball Super and the end of Dragon Ball Z?
The official pages cited here support a broad post-Buu setting, but they do not lay out DAIMA’s exact order against every Dragon Ball Super event or the final time-skip portion of Dragon Ball Z. They also do not quantify the time separating DAIMA from those surrounding story events. It is safest to distinguish the supported broad placement from a detailed continuity sequence: these sources establish the former, not the latter.
Where can you watch DAIMA?
The official DAIMA page lists streaming outlets by region. Use it as a starting point, then check the service in your location for current availability, since streaming catalogs can change.
