Has season 3 started filming?
Yes. On August 25, 2026, Adam Scott said, “Shooting is officially underway for Season 3.” TheWrap reported that production was a few weeks in at that point. That establishes the production stage, but it does not establish when post-production will finish or when Apple will release the episodes.

What will season 3 be about?
Apple has not released an official season-three synopsis. The confirmed premise remains the series’ central idea: Mark Scout leads employees at Lumon whose memories are surgically divided between their work and personal lives.
Adam Scott said season 3 will contain “many surprises,” that he cannot wait to shoot it, and that he knows the ending. Those comments signal the actors’ awareness of the planned destination, but they do not disclose the story, characters’ fates or specific plot events. Claims about what season two’s ending guarantees for season 3 should therefore be labeled interpretation rather than confirmed plot information.

Who is making the new season?
Ben Stiller remains closely involved with the series but will not direct season 3. Scott, who is also an executive producer, said Stiller’s involvement continues while the directing duties change. In Apple’s 2025 renewal release, Stiller joked: “While I have no memory of this, I’m told making season three will be equally enjoyable…”
