Lazarus episode 1, “GOODBYE CRUEL WORLD,” premiered in the United States at midnight on Saturday, April 5, 2025, on Adult Swim’s Toonami block. Japan’s listings show a different schedule: a TV broadcast on April 6 at 11:45 p.m., followed by subscription streaming at 24:15 on April 6—12:15 a.m. on April 7 by ordinary clock notation.
When did Lazarus episode 1 come out?
The U.S. premiere was announced for midnight on Saturday, April 5, 2025, on Adult Swim during Toonami. Warner Bros. Discovery’s announcement does not specify a timezone, so the listed time should not be assigned one based on that announcement alone. Warner Bros. Discovery’s February 27, 2025 announcement gives the U.S. date and time.

The date differs in Japan because the official listings describe separate broadcast and streaming schedules:
| Territory and schedule | Listed release | How to read it |
|---|---|---|
| United States, Adult Swim Toonami premiere | Saturday, April 5, 2025, at midnight | Warner Bros. Discovery’s announcement does not name a timezone. |
| Japan, television broadcast | Sunday, April 6, 2025, at 11:45 p.m. | Aniplex’s listing for TV Tokyo and the other named networks. |
| Japan, initial subscription-streaming schedule | April 6, 2025, at 24:15 | 24:15 means 12:15 a.m. on April 7 by ordinary clock notation. |
These are territory- and platform-specific listings, not one worldwide release time. Aniplex’s official on-air and streaming schedule also lists other services beginning April 9 at noon, so the initial subscription-streaming time does not apply to every platform.
