Stephanie Gilmore’s debut Rip Curl signature collection, announced on 3 December 2024, combined surf gear with beach and post-surf clothing. It included Dawn Patrol wetsuits, swimwear and boardshorts alongside fleece layers and beach accessories—not just a fashion capsule.

Rip Curl announced the debut on 3 December 2024. The US page shows “03/12/24,” while the UK page uses “04/12/24”; the US and UK archives clarify the difference as regional date formatting rather than separate launch dates. Rip Curl’s US launch announcement is the brand’s account of the release.
What the debut collection included
Rip Curl described the range as “true surf essentials” and named wetsuits, swimwear and boardshorts among its core categories. Its highlighted pieces included:
- Stephanie Gilmore Dawn Patrol wetsuits
- An SG One Piece swimsuit
- A relaxed-fit crew sweater and a heritage hoodie
- A 50-litre heavy-duty wettie bucket and a mesh beach bag
The launch announcement also mentioned boardshorts, but did not specify a named model. Together, the named pieces show a collection spanning surf equipment and apparel as well as items intended for the beach and time after a surf.

How the design drew on surf history
Rip Curl said the debut used archival designs and two of the company’s original logos, with athletic color blocking and sports-tape detailing. The brand framed the combination as a meeting of classic surf references and a modern look; that is Rip Curl’s description of the design, not an independent assessment.
In an interview published with the later Volume 2 release, Gilmore said old surf films and visits to Rip Curl’s archival rooms in Torquay informed her ideas for colors and logos. How the debut fits into later releases
The 2024 collection was the first installment, not the only Stephanie Gilmore range. Rip Curl’s current US collection page describes Volume 2.0, while its Australian page presents Volume 3 with new apparel and wetsuit colorways. These regional pages may show different products and stock, so the relevant local store is the place to check what is currently listed.
Availability should be checked on individual product pages as well as collection pages. For example, the US listing for the Stephanie Gilmore Wettie Ringer Tee displayed both “Last Few Remaining!” and “Out of Stock” indicators in the captured page; that mixed status is not evidence that the debut collection as a whole is available or unavailable. Gilmore’s Rip Curl partnership
Rip Curl described Gilmore as an eight-time world champion in its 2024 launch materials. In a separate announcement dated 15 March 2024, the brand said it had signed her to an eight-year agreement and characterized her year away from professional competition as a sabbatical focused on travel and surfing.
