Usher’s “very curious things” remark came from a 2016 interview on The Howard Stern Show, not a new interview in 2024. Usher described spending about a year living with Sean “Diddy” Combs in New York when he was 13, but he did not specify what he saw. When Stern asked whether the house was in a constant state of orgy, Usher replied, “I didn’t say that.”
What did Usher say about living with Diddy?
In the 2016 interview, Usher said he was curious about the lifestyle and wanted to see it. TheWrap quoted him saying: “I was curious, I got a chance to see some things. I went there to see the lifestyle, and I saw it.” He added that he did not know whether he could “indulge and understand what I was even looking at” and described the experience as “pretty wild.” TheWrap’s account of the interview reports these remarks.

TheWrap says Usher named Biggie Smalls, Lil Kim, Craig Mac, Faith Evans and Mary J. Blige among the people who were there. His comments were a retrospective description of what he recalled seeing; the cited coverage does not independently verify the events or details of the household.
What were the “very curious things”?
Usher did not explain the phrase in specific terms. According to TheWrap, Stern asked whether the house was in a constant state of orgy. Usher answered: “I didn’t say that. What I did say is there were very curious things taking place, and I didn’t necessarily understand it.” The remark should not be treated as confirmation of the specific conduct Stern asked about.

The Independent’s report also quotes Usher saying that curious things were happening and that he did not necessarily understand them. It reports that Stern asked whether Usher would send his own child to a “Puffy camp”; Usher replied, “Hell no.” Neither that answer nor the “very curious things” line supplies further detail about what Usher witnessed.
When was the interview, and why did the clip resurface?
The interview took place in 2016. News outlets reported in March 2024 that a clip had resurfaced, bringing renewed attention to Usher’s account. Hollywood Life’s March 2024 coverage also described the interview as dating to 2016.

Reports say Usher lived with Combs in New York for about a year when he was 13. The Independent says the arrangement followed Usher signing a deal with LA Reid and that Reid reportedly sent him to live with Combs. That account of how the stay came about is reported context, not independently documented confirmation of the living arrangement.

The Independent notes that Usher discussed being exposed to sex in the music industry in a 2004 Rolling Stone interview. That is separate historical context; it does not establish what happened in the Combs household during Usher’s reported stay.
