Usher posted a Satoru Gojo cosplay on TikTok on January 15, 2024, playing along with a fan trend that paired the Jujutsu Kaisen character with his song “Hey Daddy (Daddy’s Home).” The tribute delighted many fans, but its caption also spoiled a manga development for some anime-only viewers.
What did Usher’s Gojo cosplay show?
Know Your Meme describes Usher dressed as Gojo and making the character’s signature pose associated with Unlimited Void, a technique in Jujutsu Kaisen. The post was a brief social-media tribute rather than a formal announcement or a new project.
Know Your Meme reported that the TikTok had roughly 1.3 million plays and 448,500 likes in less than a day. Those are early figures reported by that outlet, not current totals or independently verified platform measurements. Know Your Meme’s account of the post dates it to January 15, 2024.
Why did Usher dress as Gojo?
The cosplay followed a fan-made connection between Gojo and Usher’s “Hey Daddy (Daddy’s Home).” Know Your Meme says edits pairing the character with the song had circulated since April 2023. The song-and-character association gave fans a playful reason to celebrate when Usher joined in. The Mary Sue also covered the fan-edit trend: The Mary Sue’s report.

Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Why did the caption bother some fans?
Spoiler warning for the Jujutsu Kaisen manga: “RIP Gojo” pointed to a manga plot development that anime-only viewers might not yet have encountered. Some fans welcomed the celebrity tribute; others were frustrated that the caption revealed the character’s fate beyond the anime. The mixed response was part of the post’s reception, not a sign that the cosplay itself was universally disliked.
