Dancing with the Stars Season 33 premiered on September 17, 2024—not tonight. For that historical premiere, ABC announced a live U.S. simulcast on ABC and Disney+, with next-day streaming on Hulu. The season opened with 13 celebrity-pro dancer pairs, a Jamal Sims-choreographed group number and a first round featuring cha cha, salsa, foxtrot, tango and jive.

ABC’s current show page lists Season 35 episodes as of October 8, 2026, so Season 33 is a past season rather than the current season. The announcement also said online voting would be open to fans in the U.S., its territories and Canada through the show’s voting site during the live simulcast in Eastern and Central time zones. Participating U.S. wireless carriers supported SMS voting; Canada did not. ABC said votes from the first two weeks would be combined with judges’ scores from both weeks to determine which couples might be in jeopardy after two weeks of dancing. Those were the rules announced for the 2024 season launch, not verified current voting instructions.
