Netflix calls the release “Volume 2,” while many fans and search results call it “Part 2.” They refer to the same three-episode batch. The episodes were released exclusively on Netflix, not on a weekly schedule.
Netflix announced a special launch time for Stranger Things Season 5. Although Netflix originals typically become available at 12:00 a.m. Pacific Time, this release was scheduled for 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time. Netflix’s general release-time policy notes that individual titles can have specially announced launch times.

So, “Christmas release” was accurate for the United States and much of the Americas, but not for viewers in most of Europe, Africa, Asia, and Oceania. Netflix’s official announcement also explained that the date could vary according to each viewer’s local time zone.

Which episodes were in Volume 2?
Volume 2 contained three episodes: Episodes 5 through 7. Netflix’s official episode-title listing gives them as:
- Episode 5: “Shock Jock”
- Episode 6: “Escape From Camazotz”
- Episode 7: “The Bridge”
“Camazotz” is the correct spelling. Some secondary coverage used an incorrect spelling, but Netflix’s official title list uses “Escape From Camazotz.”
How long is Volume 2?
Post-release episode listings reported the following approximate runtimes:
- “Shock Jock”: 1 hour, 17 minutes
- “Escape From Camazotz”: 58 minutes
- “The Bridge”: 1 hour, 37 minutes
That makes the three episodes approximately 3 hours and 52 minutes in total, before adding recaps, credits, pauses, or any differences in how Netflix displays runtimes. These figures were reported by post-release episode listings, rather than in Netflix’s original release-time announcement.

Was the Season 5 finale included?
No. Volume 2 was not the complete final release. Season 5 had eight episodes in total:
- Volume 1: Episodes 1–4
- Volume 2: Episodes 5–7
- The finale: Episode 8
The separate finale, Episode 8, “The Rightside Up,” premiered on December 31, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time / 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time in the Americas. In many other regions, it became available on January 1, 2026.
In other words, viewers planning a Christmas binge received three episodes—not “the final four episodes.” The last episode arrived several days later as a standalone New Year’s Eve release. The complete release structure is listed in Netflix’s official schedule.
Where could viewers watch it?
Stranger Things Season 5 Volume 2 was released exclusively on Netflix. Viewers needed an active Netflix account and access to the title in the Netflix catalog for their region. The release was not a weekly rollout, so all three Volume 2 episodes became available together at the announced time.

What to do if Volume 2 does not appear on Netflix
If a new episode batch is missing from the app, first check the local date and time. A viewer in London, for example, needed to wait until 1:00 a.m. on December 26—not 5:00 p.m. on December 25.
If the release time has passed, Netflix recommends the following basic steps:
- Refresh the browser page.
- Reload the Netflix app.
- Restart the streaming device.
- Close and relaunch Netflix.
If the title still does not appear, check for regional or account-related restrictions. Netflix identifies possible causes including an active VPN, regional availability, profile maturity settings, blocked titles, and profile-language settings. Its missing-title guidance covers these issues.
These checks are more likely to resolve a catalog or device-display problem than indicate a regional delay, because the episodes were released simultaneously worldwide.
